We visited Rockingham again, and as you can see this time MAXXIS had an extraordinary livery courtesy of Mitsumeku.
This one was actually a tough race. The Rock is an unforgiving track, and the EM30 GR-A is no joke -fast, powerful, and difficult to tame. The slightest of errors could lead drivers to a gravel trap, and more than one found out.
After a clean start and negotiating both Split 1 chicanes, Formula Racing's MAXXIS was overtaken by Furtive Racing's Raigs who took lead from then on closely followed by [MRc]Zesty. A mechanical problem left Raigs out of the race in lap 20, and it was Zesty who took lead. The British driver fiercely defended his position from MAXXIS attacks during the next 10 laps, but pressure took its toll eventually, and MAXXIS was able to overtake him two laps before the end.
[FR]MAXXIS thus won P1, and P2 was for [MRc]Zesty, while LCR»NeoN got P3 and the fastest lap
Congratulations to the podium winners, and see you next week in Kyoto!
Here is the review thread: https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/101287
It was already accepted but seems it was then set to private because it is still work in progress.
he, I only just noticed the livery actually says "Joe Mama's Special"
RG^LORENZO is confirmed as the winner of the first edition of the DTK Superprix.
The italian recovered from P2 in quali and not a great race start, managing to get back into the lead with a half-lap long battle against Raigs, who retired shortly after for fuel miscalculation.
2nd Place by [FU]Nosle, very consistent through all the day, able to make the undercut work and beat all the opposition, with the exception of the Race Green leader. RG^Rony benefits from [WCL]Arska's incredible fuel miscalculation, that left him out cold at the very last corner of the very last lap.
The WCL ace was helped by a selfless RG^M@CI3K to get over the line at the end.
This combo was maybe underestimated by some: a lot of drivers who turned up for qualifying decided to spectate during the race for no very good reasons, a bit of a shame.
In fact, out of the 13 entrants, only 5 managed to take the finish line.
Fastest lap of the race and new Track Record for Skip Barber is set by RG^Lorenzo in 2'15''28, achieved in the last stint of the race.
Most of the race laptimes were faster than the quali benchmarks, meaning that the drivers got better & better, mastering the new course during the race.
Race was completed in 59'51''33, just under the hour mark.
A real test for the drivers!
That's it for this first edition of the DTK Superprix, that goes into history.
Now it's time for the Gala Prizes

WHEN: Monday, 21th November, 20.10 CET WHERE: DTK Superprix GP Track WHY: Why not?
-----------
Welcome to the first edition of the DTK SUPERPRIX!
A challenging circuit is waiting for the drivers, with plenty of elevation changes, technical corners & a mix of super fast & very slow sections.
A 4.8 KM Circuit, a mix of permanent & street circuit, vaguely inspired by the Birmingham Superprix Course.
You'll find open, fast sections, like the 1 km long double straight at the back of the track.
But at the end of the lap you'll have to tackle some very techinical corners, with walls very close by, before finishing off the lap
The First SuperPrix Winner will have to demonstrate abilities in setting up the car and skills in driving, to maximize the performance over the bumps, elevation changes & challenging corners.
For this very first edition of the DTK Superprix, the drivers will have to compete with one of the most iconic entry level Formula cars on the planet.
The Skip Barber (Formula Skippy).
With road tyres, this formula will challenge the drivers at the limit of grip in many parts of the DTK Superprix Circuit.
But this car will also guarantee exciting wheel to wheel battles and big groups fighting together, limiting the field spread.
