Quote from turbofan :I fully agree that.
Scawen presented facts, TC guys answered with nonsense and denying and they needed 5 pages to recover a little bit of reason, but they still dont admit explicitely that the problem mainly spawns from their server, while pushing forward that they "saved" LFS for the last 2 decades.
Hum...

edit:
kipieslim made some tool to detect shared accounts, and wrote this morning that 7.5% of Just a Ride connections since november are shared acounts.
People use them to evade bans.
1. they get banned with their own account
2. they go TC server and farm TC money
3. they rent another account with the money they made on TC
4. they get back on JaR, evading the ban.

JaR is basically jail for people banned from TC. Its an ongoing joke for quite sometime now. So it makes sense that a lot of your connections are shared accounts.

There is no point in all 9 of us arguing over who is to blame.

Scawen has already admitted the problems are within people who have entered their game password into hacked servers, thus willingly giving up their accounts. Not an ounce of this sits on the most popular, game reviving server on LFS.

Account renting, although against LFS policy, still isn't an actual problem as a whole.

Quote from Racon :It's worth mentioning that the basic function of white/black -listing mods can also be performed, without any limit, with a relatively simple InSim. (I'll knock one up with PIE if anyone wants it?)

It wouldn't have the nicety of hiding disallowed mods in the in-game list, but the main purpose of stopping certain mods joining the track would be fulfilled.

We are aware and that is already active for quite sometime now. Showing our users 400+ mods whilst only being able to physically use less than half is ridiculous and a burden on all of our users. Especially when this is easily remedied on LFS end.

Scawen, raising this limit is desperately needed at this point for your most popular servers such as [TC]. Please look into a change.

Quote from Scawen :

I'm reserving judgement on him. So much better than total madman Trump. But already failing badly on the environment so you are probably right.

Your infatuation with Trump is pretty entertaining. Although he has the speech skills of a 5 year old, his economy was strong and stable. He would have helped deter any of this from happening had he been in a second term. I would recommend to sway around the brain washed media you are watching and find some solid information to base opinions from.

Your race servers may be on s3, but you can stay on bug ridden Assetto. No one cares.

Cruise servers have kept this game alive for years so this may not be the place for you anymore especially on a demo license.

Quote from miata :Scawen this update is a fantastic idea and great for the community. But to solve all the problem listed above I think the best way forward is to leave the GTR cars as they are and simply have 2 extra cars XR drift and XF rallyrcross (maybe with 4wd)

At them moment it just feels a bit more like using LFS tweak than an offical release.

And road tyres on open wheelers - including the F1 car? I know the answer is well don't use it if you don't like it - but even having it as an option just feels wrong!

Did you just tell him to reverse his quick and simple adjustments and create 2 new car models instead?

Quote from martin18 :Ran tandem for few hours now with many drifters. WE love it!!
things to work on:
1. H pattern shifter is a must! (XRR drift configuration turns to H-pattern)
2. Anything past 50 degrees steer feels very twitchy
3. Tire wear is way too fast on all tires even with 17 psi rear tires
4. Brake bias for Hand brake (specially on FZ)
5. Lacking front end feel (feels light)

I agree with 1. (H Pattern), but everything else is getting a bit too deep. This was easy adjustments made with current tire and physics to open up this realm of GTR drift for us. I ran laps on WE with fzr drift setup and had no issues with hand brake or tires. I did not however, use XRR as I cant keep up with where my paddles are while drifting.

This is really great. I hated the idea of 60 degree lock until I was drifting around in the FZR and realize it was need and it works great.

My only dislike is the XRR is not H shift. Not sure if this is something youd consider changing or making an option because I for-see it not being used much in drifting being sequential only.

Cargame is right.

When LFS Pro came about and the pricing deal was changed to try and bring in licenses from Brazil, I had high hopes and some expectations (again). The problem is that with those pricing changes came nothing new to that "hacked" community. No cars no new tracks and dead development. Reporting videos and doing this and that unfortunately is a waste of energy. Its up to this Dev team to combat things like this and it didn't happen.

I can not believe this is happening.

Reminder - This will not allow the use of VOBs on [TC] City driving servers as it completely destroys the contact physics between vehicles in the game. It will also destroy the contact physics in any racing server where some users use these "mods".

Quote from ORION :I'd say a lot of people stopped racing in LFS because they grew old and gray, got kids, got jobs, and simply don't have the time anymore! Big grin

Indeed a lot did. Im still here waiting, 4 kids later. Maybe ill still be alive when the update is released and I can witness one of my kids try it out. lol

Quote from mbutcher :It's not overthinking, rather the vast majority of people overlooking these missing details. You raised some good points.

Good points indeed. Majority here, myself included, overlook any and all of these points since we are so desperate for a release. His opinion may have set the update release out another 2 years. Tongue

Quote from Scawen :
I hope the Chinese will take strong action, and as many governments as possible will do so. Then finally the USA can help too when Trump is gone. Similar problem with Russia.

This is the exact reason why Trump pulled out of the climate deals. Not one of you can name 1 of the thousands of steps the USA has made to reduce emissions in the past 20 years. China is one of the worlds largest investors in clean energy but we dont talk about that, do we?

This thread has gone to hell with all the above crap. Can we get back to development instead of talking about the co2 in the sky that no one here is physically trying to correct?

Quote from Scawen :

...But you are becoming one of those people who just says the same thing over and over again. It's boring and pointless...

Kind of hypocritical, don't ya think?

Really, take no offence, but this is what happens to any game that becomes stale over time. Everything will shift from positive to negative with lack of improvement. I would like to think the LFS devs would be thankful they still have a small community left after what has happened. I can't think of another game that would last this long. Please release something, anything. A single car model, 1 track update. Something that could hold us over another couple months.

Anyways, these transitions look fantastic. Something a lot of us have dreamed for in LFS. Thanks for that work atleast.
