It's not that there's that spectacularly many tracks in Belgium, it's just that we're so tiny everything's just a stone's throw away

Stereotypical, but still, I think Spa's a great track. Very much enjoy the challenge and variety it has to offer.

That said, I do believe we're already spoiled with the brilliantly balanced tracks we're currently enjoying in the game. On the other hand, I'm sure LFS would stand up to the challenge of having it's simulation equivalent compared to real world figures. But as others have said, if it's too expensive... I'd be just as glad with as without

Hiya,

Tried LFS a long time ago, got S1 a bit after, had some fun, but without a wheel, and finding mouse-steering contra-intuitive, and even worse, horribly unprecise, my attention for it kinda faded.

But now, I'm back. After downloading S2, and unlocking S1 again, I've started driving using my joystick (not using axis'es for acceleration and brake controls however), and have found it to be a lot more controllable. S2 key should be due to arrive soon, can't wait

Quote from Noccy :English, no intention to use a dutch translation which is gramatically correct but uses so many words that simply don't fit contextually.

I agree. I tried it, it just didn't seem to fit. English was better.

Not meaning to drag your thread off-topic, but I'm wondering, where would I find those WR's (I'm assuming those are world records?) and their according tracks?

Despite me being S1 licensed for a long time, I've only recently reinstalled LFS, and by God I'm addicted again :o

So, now I want to improve, and ran across this, and got curious

Used to run it on a P4 2Ghz with 512MB RAM (XP Home 32 bit ofc) and a GeForce4 MX460.

I got somewhere in the vicinity of 40-50 fps I think. With an empty track that probably would be. As people before me have mentioned, LFS is a lot more hungry on the CPU side of things than on the GPU side. Getting one of the newer high-clocked (or easily overclocked) Dual Core's should net you a nice fps increase if you're desperate for more. Or phrased differently, LFS probably would run best on a high-clocked Dual Core.

To be fair, over the years, LFS graphics have always looked neat, and there's been some upgrades, but the general shape of things hasn't had any major overhauls. (Unless I'm wrong of course, which I can be).
