Quote from farcar :The new trailers are kinda what I expected. Looks great though, and I can't wait.
Why isn't it called GTAIV - San Andreas (or similar) though. It still uses the same engine, no?

Agree 100% - looks great but I too thought it looks very much like GTA4 with SA content. Not that that would be a bad thing, I'm still playing 4 even now, for me it probably has the best longevity of any game I've played.

Very nice doyal! I test drove a couple of S2Ks before getting the Zed, liked them a lot but insurance was prohibitively expensive for me, especially compared to the Zed.

One that I drove had an AEM intake which sounded pretty awesome, and of course you can't beat a bit of 9000rpm action!

Can anyone explain the deal with Bad Company vs non-BC? Are they made by different studios (I thought they were both DICE)?

Shouldn't we be expecting BC3 this year instead?

I played a huge amount of BC2 and loved it, and am now playing BF3 but cant see a lot of differences in terms of gameplay etc.

Also, I loved this trailer, looks epic Will be interesting to see how it translates to multiplayer.

It also has very short gameplay time, you can pretty much max a city out in a couple of hours, at which point it gets so big it just melts down and you move on to start another one.

I must say I don't have a problem with the always-online DRM though. I can't remember the last time I even rebooted my router so that's not an issue.

I got it, only had server issues on the night it was released then was able to play fine. Problem is the agent simulation engine is so broken its a pretty worthless game, such a shame as I love the SimCity series.

Still, got BF3 for free, so every cloud and all that!

Quote from Bawbag :Focus RS really does do something sexual for me i'm not going to lie, love it Ian.

I've been looking at ST's lately since i'm needing to go back to a 5 door, however knowing that the 2.5 it would have has 150bhp less than the RS would just kill me, along with running it.....

I'll have an RS one day.

The ST is 225bhp stock, the RS 300bhp. ST is easily tuneable but they're still pretty different cars, the RS being much more focused (excuse the pun!)

Its a stupid blue effect they put on the game. Except its nothing like how your eyes would blur in real life. Maybe you can turn it off in settings?

Spent a couple of hours on this last night. Wasn't at all impressed with the first hour or so, far too much boring stuff: cutscenes, collecting animal hides (this isn't meant to be WoW), failing missions because you can't just shoot the hell out of people.

Then it picked up a bit and I started to get into it. Haven't spent any longer than that on it yet though so can't really say much more, but I'm quite enjoying it for now

Surely it can't produce any directional force, so how can it feel like anything other than holder a controller in the air albeit with your hands in a different position?

Still, for $20 who really cares?!

EDIT - To add something useful. About 44MPG, rising to 50 if conditions allow.

That doesn't sound too painful :P

Quote from NitroNitrous :And that sucks.

This is my point - its not a serious game. But it doesn't need to be serious to be fun, the autoaim didn't detract from GTA4 for me. You can still precisely aim if you want/need to.

I too have both a console and PC, and for the record I enjoyed playing GTA4 and both mediums

I must say I'm excited for V. I think I probably spent more time on 4 since it was released than any other game. I don't play a huge number of games these days but it definitely kept me entertained the longest. If I buy two games next year it'll be this and the new Sim City.

GTA4 autoaims for you anyway, you hardly need the fine-grained control of a mouse to hit people. (Much) better graphics were nice on the PC, and mods added longevity, but bugs and performance issues hampered overall gameplay.

Personally I always saw GTA as a fairly casual game, sit down on the sofa in front of the TV and mess around for a bit, maybe do a couple of missions etc. If it was a more serious game maybe it'd be more relevant on PC, I'm afraid I just don't see it that way.

Either way R* are never going to released on PC at the same time as the console launch, this strategy has obviously worked for them for the previous two titles, why wouldn't they use it again?

Well, just like I did for GTA4, I'll be getting this for 360 first then maybe PC much later down the line.

It's more enjoyable on console anyway, it's just more of a console game. GTA 3 and 4 never felt as natural on PC.

Quote from danthebangerboy :Beema fans, if you owned an e46 320d 9as i do) and wanted something with a bit more go, and were offered a mint condition e36 325i coupe as a swap, would you do it?

You've got to think, why would someone want to swap something 'mint' for something pretty shagged out? People rarely do deals to lose money...

Quote from Migz :then find a 16v GTI donor car to engine swap with. Plus brakes and suspension ect.

And why would you do that instead of actually just buying a 16v?

Then again why would you ever buy a mk3 GTI anyway...

Quote from Jakg :225/45/18's? Good luck... expect your wallet to get raped, hard.

225/40's are very common, but very few cars use 225/45's (only ones I can think of - RX8, MG ZT, M3 fronts) so they are normally very expensive

EDIT - For comparison, in the UK I'm looking for some 225/45/18's atm - I want Falken FK452's, and it's looking like it'll be ~£250-£265, for a pair, fitted

Add 350Z to the list, 225/45/18 fronts 245/45/18 rears. Just got 2 continentals fitted up front but they are damn expensive, think it was ~ £360 for a pair

Quote from R34GTR :How much is the Z to insure?

~£1K/year

Edit: for reference the S2000 would be ~£1800/year.

Quote from Jakg :Never used to be keen on 350Z's, but these videos have converted me recently:

Yeah the Golf and Scirocco are both still uninteresting

Didn't like any of the BMWs I could get for the same money. I wanted something with 2 seats, a few toys, and realistic to fund. Test drove a couple of S2000s but the insurance is killer (I'm 24 with only 2 years NCB). Z4s and Boxsters are too expensive, MX-5s are too slow etc.

This is a lovely example with reasonable mileage, pre 2006 so not in the £445/year tax bracket (although that does mean it misses out on the slightly newer engine ) and "only" costs £200/year more than the Golf to insure...
