Weak sounds in general

Hi folks,

I've used to play LFS with my Medusa Headset for quite a while and have been happy with the overall sound.

Now though I bought myself a cheap 5.1 system from Creative, I know it's not the cutting edge, but in games like TDU2 it gives a sound I am perfectly happy with.

In LFS though the sound is pretty poor, Bass kicks in at certain revs way too much, but apart from that there is just no depth in the sound. It sounds as if I was driving in a cathedral with the hollow sound far away from me.

Do you have any advice for me how to add more depth to the sound as currently it is a very huge let down for me.....

I'm using my onboard soundcard of the MSI K9N Delta Mainboard, 5.1 that is. 5.1 activated in Realtek Audio manager.

This is an unexpected present I sat down in front of my old locked S1 version a couple of weeks ago and pitied myself for not being able to watch my good old replays......This will make me undust my wheel for sure

By the way, with graphics on maximum settings, S1 doesn't look bad at all, see the link for a small Collage I created a while ago for a POTW competition:

To me the progress report says: We're getting to closer to get an idea on how a tire model could look like......but then it's nowhere near the actual creation AND implementation into the game......Guess how long that'll take.

It's not about the money I already spent. Unlike many people here who claim it's their "right" to get updates because they paid... for me LFS is super cheap for what you get. But it's a sad thing to lose interest into a sim I enjoyed for ages.

As a consequence I disassembled my Playseat last week.....

I don't get why you devs do not try to get help on board. Sure it's your "little baby" and you want it to be the way you want it to be. But when I have to create a huge calculation in Excel which seems to become more complex everytime I think about possible modifiers and calculations, I want it to be finished because at some point in time it is not "interesting" anymore to find out new things.

I'm a bit worried you will crack over this new tire model.....

Many of us have already tried 30 minutes action in IGTC. 30 minutes compared to 10 feels like eternity. You have 4-6 chances and that's more than plenty to make near perfect lap.

I think it'd be great to have a qualifying session without shift+p. It adds excitement AND I think the chances for your lap getting cocked up by somebody are smaller as other racer's track position can be forecasted.

The duration for quali however should be flexible based on the laptime required for a lap at that specific track. Let's say 2-3 attempts should be possible plus a little safety time to gain enough space behind another car.

This would surely spice things up and show who is a good qualifier!

I might be able to participate on the Saturday event, depends a tiny bit on how early I get home. Sunday is a no go for me

Could somebody provide me with a usable setup? XRR GT1 preferred. I guess it won't make any sense to participate without having a suitable setup, but since I don't have the time to develop a setup on my own this would be very kind

I have a question concerning the Rules point IV Advanced Drivers.

"If the driver is listed on the initial application for the team, the driver will automatically be considered, and this decision will not go against the appeal count"

Just for clarification: Does this mean if the driver is included in the initial application, he cannot be "accused" of having driven MoE / IGTC and we do not have to ask for an exemption?

I'm more like, Brake, turn in while still braking slightly, get on the gas early and progressively ----> Bam! (or Spin in the FZR )

Since we were a bit unorganised about the whole qualification we ended up not having a replay of the qualification at all.

I'll try to get together as much information as possible to either provide you with a proper time code or to find our lap in the replay of other teams doing their fastest laps.

If anyone of you other teams know you've been on the server recording a replay when #111 - V.Adriaenssens for Team Inferno did his laps, please reply here or via PM, thank you

Just by looking at the remote at this moment, there are many drivers on the list I've seen regularly competing in MoE / IGTC or whatever.

Having heard of this as an entry league and "practice" league I wonder whether there are any teams that do not get a spot due to "good and established" drivers taking their spots.

Secondly, the test race is a decider if a team can be accepted to GTAL, why are there guest teams competing rather than have most of the signed up teams race to evaluate them? Also, now that some of the good and established drivers drive, how will you evaluate the rest of the drivers then.

Please don't take this as a hateful or whatever post, I'd just like to have my questions answered

Please don't get me wrong on this one. I'm not critisising you in any way. I only think, and I believe you cannot deny this, you did not always bring the best lineup you could to the races. This is why I meant you underperformed in my opinion. It's unusual to see us in front of you

Neither am I claiming we should still be 2nd even with rolling. Our rolling was a stupid fail and it's obvious we'd lose a lot. The only thing I wanted to stress is that by doubled points, a victory was A LOT more valuable than anywhere else, and this has led to the discussion going on atm

My two cents on the Niki / Troy incident: Niki, as he was having an overlap on the outside you cannot claim the corner to be yours, however me being in Troy's situation I wouldn't have tried that since side by side in Eau Rouge doesn't work in most cases....

Maybe a good idea for a next IGTC Season: Change the points system for the last race.

My3id have performed below my expectations for the whole season, but were able to secure championship by just winning the last race, just like 5 other teams.

On the other hand if you DNF for whatever reason (must not always be your own mistake) you lose out a lot (see inferno dropping from 2nd to 8th).

Along with this, there are some heated up battles because everyone just wants to use this last chance to turn everything for the better. So even a pretty decent season could be corrected by just preparing properly for that single last race. This kind of ruines the aspect of consistency throughout a season, which is key (or at least should be) in endu racing imo.

According to Marius, Niki gave a little love tap to his car sending him into the (almost always deadly) graveltrap. Luckily car 05 was able to get out but considerable time was lost.

You do not want to overtake in that "first" corner since in those cars it's impossible to go side by side. If you go to the inside you have to slow down a lot to get the corner properly. Overtaking at that place requires compromises from both drivers, else it'll be a huge crash with serious damage. You can try it but as a responsible driver looking further than just the next pass you will not risk it (that's my POV)
