So, when's the voting going to start?

Well, I put a little something together. If I have time to make some changes, I know a few things that I want to do. So, consider this final if I don't update (but there is a chance I might). If this ends up being final, I'll put up an edit or a new post that describes how I did it.

Awesome to see a positive reaction to the new website. It was great to help out the last few months with this Vic!

Quote from jopapuba :?is it problem i have DX11 on my system?

Scawen posted this earlier in the thread. Maybe it could help you out as well:

Quote from Scawen :I guess it's not really crashing, but just failing to start DirectX.

Strangely, Microsoft have decided to deliberately alienate their loyal customers by making it harder to run software that ran very well on older versions of Windows.

Anyway, so that all their customers don't leave them too quickly, they still provide a way to retain compatibility.

If you follow this link I think you will find what you need (DirectX End-User Runtime): http://www.lfs.net/dx9/

Quote from DANIEL-CRO :One other thing worries me more.
Top Gear make an episode in Ukraine (21.3), and Ukraine now ...
Anything suspicious?

Well, if they can make a volcano erupt, I wouldn't put what happened in Ukraine past them...

Is it guys? I think it might be. A new record for this thread. Four posts after an episode to wildly off topic. :thumb3d:

Anyways, back on topic...

Quote from Mustafur :The zenvo review was moronic to say the least, 1100hp rwd in the rain is always going to end badly but it would of been a really good lap to see if it was in the dry.

I don't think you can really blame it on the rain. They ran it on multiple days and it had problems. It's an amazing looking car, but if it seriously has that many problems, it's not worth it. I do wonder what a bad review on such a large program does to a company like that.

I really quite enjoyed tonight's show. Obviously no one was going to die by going into Chernobyl, but I still felt worried for the guys and was seriously rooting for them to run out of fuel. I wouldn't want to be in that area at all.

So, the other thread got closed because stuff happened. No reason to continue talking about it.

Here's the link to the old thread if anyone is looking for it: https://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=18750&page=113. Sometimes I like to see how people reacted to old episodes so that's a good place to read up on that.

Anyway, here we go again. Fresh start. New thread. Let's keep it clean and civilized. Remember, it's a TV show about cars...sort of.

I'm against cracking too, but some of your stats are total bullshit. Here's why:

Quote from siralva1 :Said group mentioned above has 2600~ users. Easily 2100 are using cracked versions. $30.00 (s2 licence) x 2100 = $63,000.00. That $63,000.00 that could have already have funded the S3 update.

If cracking didn't exist, I promise you that those 2100 people wouldn't suddenly decide to start buying LFS. They don't pay because they don't want to spend money. Sure, some of them would, but the majority still wouldn't. Personally, I would be surprised if more than 200-300 actually ordered LFS if cracking was gotten rid of.

Quote from siralva1 :And yes, I can confidently say that 70% of LFS's activity is going on cracked servers. How do I know? No, I've never had a cracked LFS, but 2100 users out of 2600 using cracked in this one group?

You can't just decide the percentage for an entire userbase based on one group. That group doesn't seem to mind piracy so the pirates go to that group. (On a side note, I also don't know how you got the 2100 number from.) I don't know how bad the cracking problem is, but your reasoning isn't the correct way to figure it out.

Quote from BlakjeKaas :I was wondering when this topic would be opened.

Apparently they were going for a release last december, but it has been pushed back until at least the end of january.

Ugh, it's pretty annoying when games are going to release something in time for Christmas but then they push it back indefinitely.

Quote from ACCAkut :Any proof for Walkers car nut live prior to the film? Can't find anything.

You talked about "unique" car mods done for the film. I said those were not unique. Thats it. Yes we have lots of Evos of different gens in the EU. They're nice for rallying.

I admit I got it wrong with the filming location. Knew that at least the final race in the mine and the chase in the city was filmed in the US.

About you knowing someone at Holley ... Product placement is product placement. I know "higher ups" at Bosch, VW and Ferrero. They all do it.

Comparing F&F to superhero films ..? Try James Bond, The Transporter, the Bourne series and so on. They do realistic stunts.

and better leave tristan alone, it gets ugly trying to fight him

I think we can all agree that Paul was a car guy and by most account, a pretty great guy all around. Let's just leave it at that.

Quote from tristancliffe :But that's the point - most people just buy the biggest or cheapest (or both) turbo they can find, and don't worry about flows, pressures, compression ratios.....

Yes, because that's how people learn. When they decide they want to upgrade again, they know that they have too much turbo lag and want to lower that. So, they start looking into what causes turbo lag, how to lower it, and thereby learn more about flows, pressures, and compression ratios. You didn't learn all of this on your first day. Think back a few years about some of the changes you made to your race car and whether a few choices were rather daft. Chances are you made some mistakes and that's how you learned not to do them again.

So when that 17 year old with a used Honda Civic that he just got decides he's going to strap on the largest turbo he can find, I'll tell him it's probably not a good idea but I won't try to stop him. It's a terrible decision and he'll definitely regret it, but at least he'll understand that bigger isn't always better. And next time, he might realize that it would be better to buy a smaller turbo and use the leftover money to get some better brakes.

Quote from Blade3562 :Can't read his posts anymore blocked him back to celebrating the man not dribbling over someone's ignorance of automotive diversity.

Not official yet, but wow it would be weird to have someone replace him, especially a brother.

http://foxnewsinsider.com/2013 ... t-and-furious-replacement

This dude's resemblance is great. A lot of brothers don't look that similar. Put a little bit of facial hair on and he could pass for Brian O'Connor (at least in looks).

Quote from Bmxtwins :they should write paul's brother in to finish of this movie and for any future needed scenes. But definitely find a way to properly send brian off.

Or if they don't id be fine with that. Man died, character doesnt have to if their's a way out.

They are apparently using his younger brother to finish his scenes. Can't remember where I read that, but they have a pretty close resemblance and with some added facial hair I could see it working. You can always use some CGI to make it work even better.

Quote from tristancliffe :Nah. They go against everything I like about cars. The modding scene is solely for morons who don't actually know about cars (other than engine code names), and read magazines written by people that don't know about cars.

So no, I won't be watching it. I don't want to encourage stupidity.

God, you are everything I dislike about some car guys. Stop being so god damn superior and just accept that car people like different things. Why not just be happy that some people like cars for modding, other's like them for racing, some just like them for the aesthetics? We're all car guys and that's awesome!

Hey guys. So I'm a president for a student organization at my college and we're starting up a mentorship type of program. In order to get people interested, I put together a video that I hope is funny. But, before I show it at a meeting tonight, I want to make sure people actually find it funny. You know, so I don't make a complete fool of myself.

I've sent it to a few of my friends and they've said they found it funny but I'm afraid that might just be because they know me personally. So, I'd really appreciate it if some of you could take a look and let me know what you think.

Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHTwnKuyH8o

EDIT: Btw, T-9 hours to the meeting.

I already used one of my BF3 keys. Do I get another unique one or is it the same one? And where do I get this other key?
