The online racing simulator
Quote from DieKolkrabe :sweet

Wait, you review games for a site or what? I'm guessing you can't keep the copy

Yes I do, and yes I can. (Guess what my shelves are full with?)
Got my copy today

My god, it starts slowly with the dream sequence, crap house, crap (relatively) car and stupid licence test/first championship... Luckily after the first hour or two, the "story" takes a backseat and doesn't interfere with the freedom or TDU vibe of buying nice houses and expensive cars.

It's like TDU, but better. Word of advice though, you can't sell prize cars so I now have a pink Mustang with "kiss" stickers sitting in my garage next to my XKR...

Oh, and the online works really smoothly. Wandered round car dealers with random strangers present, then jumped in a car with said stranger - was a unique experience. And overtaking/humiliating Golf-driving boy racers on the twisties then watching them wrap their car round a tree? Priceless.
You know you want to keep that Mustang anyway . you use it every day mwuhahaha
Well, after a night of playing it with the wheel, I just regret I did. I could not enjoy it at ALL. The FFB is heavy, and just mushy, there's a dead-zone I didn't really remember from the beta (FFB was alot better in the beta IMO), and it all just looks so boring and clumsy...

The FPS for me are just rubbish even on medium settings.

I just got the urge to install TDU1 and play that... God it's so much better compared to Sims Unlimited 2...

Although my opinion might change (I hope so).
Without revealing too much, could you describe how the physics and roads are like over TDU1? That was my only major gripe with TDU1, was the jaggy roads and rubbish physics.

Is it any better in TDU2?

P.S, when talking about Physics, I mean when using a pad. I shall be getting this for my 360, not my PC.
I don't think it is officially released until the 9th of this month.
Simplygames.com are shipping early in the UK

Nathan: Roads seem a lot smoother on Ibiza, haven't unlocked Hawaii yet so don't know if they've improved that. Physics/driving aids can be set on Hardcore from the start and as I can gather, they're pretty close to TDU1 and remind me of SHIFT. Realistic enough to not be Mario Kart/GRID, fun enough to enjoy properly with a pad. Overcorrection/fishtailing seems to be an issue when sliding, but this is probably more my craptacular-ness than the game.

Bose: It's best on console with a pad, I can imagine it's shite with a wheel.
Screw it ordering for PS3.

Edit- ordered.
Sounds good. Thanks Jay.

I haven't pre-ordered, but will be getting it from a shop when it is released. Anything who fancies going for a cruise, add me. My Gamertag is cossieburn.
Going to be online early today (got a job interview in 1 hour).

I also uploaded a vidoe, showing my epic new home (sorry for those who get jealous of my awesome house!).

Will upload driving school footage later today.

Have you not sold the caravan yet? First thing I did when I had the money was buy a decent house and car, it doesn't feel like TDU when you're living in a trailer driving an old (albeit awesome) hot hatch
Well GAME let me play it on the 8th, via download?

So long STEAM if so. If not I'll give away the GAME copy

Are you dissing my home?

Btw, you play on pc?
He is

Question. Do you unlock homes as you rank up or do you simply need cash?

Hopefully its just like TDU1 and you just need the money to make it happen...

I've just pre-ordered it. I wanted to get TDU1 again but it seems there was never a PS3 version?

Very sad face if so
FYI GAME gives out their download codes on the 8th, not the 11th

TDU2 was PS2 only IIRC
Bose: I am I play on PS3

Equinox: Homes and cars just require money to buy. Clothes need "Discovery points" to unlock...
Sweet

So how much is the yacht?

Yeah I remember having it for PS2 then got it for PC.

Just wish I had a PC that could play games now

@TiJay: So its the same as TDU1, kinda. You had to drive women around to earn "coupons" for clothing xD
DK: Yacht is 5million and available in the Ibiza 1 real estate agent.

Equinox: Pretty much. Talking of the driving missions, they're more varied now too. Luckily they've kept the "car delivery/convoy" missions which was one of the best bits of TDU for me as you had to drive safely
Only 5 mil? I'm very rich atm (70k!!!!!!!!!!!), so I'm almost there. Well err, first need to get rid of this pos Delta.
So, when exactly is the release for this game in the UK? One guy says the 8th, while another is saying the 11th? Confused.

EDIT: I also heard that you only get the Casino if you have pre-ordered? Surely Atari are not that stupid?
Official release date for EU is 11th

However, I pre-ordered from GAME earlier and got the following:

You have pre-ordered with us and will thus receive your download links and activation key by email from 08/02/2011 00:00 British Time.

I'm just as confused. Still, 3 days early

Casino's said to be buyable on release date
