Quote from EQ Worry :Eh, people can be very inventive when searching for some kind of advantage for themselves. Well, I guess it would be possible to prevent car type switching when pitting after sorting the grid. I'll look into this and try to come up with some simple solution soon.

There´s always room for improvements... glad you take it serious!

Quote from EQ Worry :...It is indeed a bug, not very serious, but still a bug.

Wasn´t sure about it...

Is this some sort of funky airio-setup again or is it a bug..?

Thx for the final..works like a charme

Here´s a new suggestions, don´t know if it possible to code...

I´ve noticed some "grid-cheating" in the last days... Told by some trusty drivers but very hard to get proofed in the logs...

This is how it works:
Do a few laps on TBO (or any faster class) to "earn" the pole. Then, when the grid is sorted out (all cars on track, start lights not on), switch from TBO to STD (or any slower class)...of course you´re still on pole, because that´s the method lfs is doing it for ages (grid fills up from start to end)...

Is it possible to add some cmd to avoid this..? It should not be possible to switch cars when the grid is already sorted out...
Let´s say add some "rejoin-timer" like the 12 seconds in lfs...
Drivers who pit when the grid is sorted out (lights on) should not take part of the race...just my 2 cents

Quote from Deutschland2007 :I won´t try it with vinegar because I can´t stand the smell of it, and I haven´t got any olive-oil at home, but I´ll try it with fruit juice.

Olive-oil fast just my first thought, it´s the only oil I use for coocking...

You can use any sort of cooking oil The oil will glue the beasts and will "jam" their wings, thats all...

Fill a glass or a cup with vinegar, olive-oil and fruit juice. Place it somewhere near your screen and enjoy the show... Works for all kind of flies, drosophila, thunderbugs, bees and wasps!

Quote from brandons48 :... Anyway, helmets are the main issue...

I´m afraid not...for me it´s improved physics, updated/improved collision detection, improved sounds, weather effects, more track-environments and propably another kinky car...

Quote from brandons48 :Do YOU think we need better quality helmets?

No

Quote from brandons48 :If so what do you think can be done to them?

Pay for some highres-skins and enable them for download

Quote from JeffR :The Pirate Bay became known to sim racing players when First, now called iRacing, threatened every web site hosting the NR2005 mod for Nascar Racing Season 2003 (they also got Team Redline to remove all car logos from their GTP mod for NR2003), getting it removed. The Pirate Bay, out of the legal grasp of First/iRacing, became the primary site for the NR2005 mod (it's still there), which is how the pirate bay became known to the sim racing community.

Oh realy...? calm down! For me and the majority of its user its was just one(!) platform to download stuff. Homemade holliday-videos (of course in bad quality), nice pics of some ugly and perverted ex-girlfriends, or simply illegal c#acked software... ...personally I don´t care...

We have more and better sites with better index´s and previews...

Quote from franky500 :@void, I am going to start limiting entries to those who we know can drive only. Sorry its been 2 dodgy ones in a row, hope it wont put you off.

I´m not moaning, don´t get me wrong
Last fecked up (timedout) race on Blackwood was my PC, my connection or what ever, there´s noone to blame on my side. Look at poor 3J, he too timedout on 2nd position yesterday... Imagine some random technical failures like in real racing...

Yesterday I was just pissed that some racers, hotlappers, most of the dee tees, etc can´t manage a clean race in the first 5 laps (~ 5 minutes) when the race is longer than an hour... completly lack of racecraft and/or common sense... going through carnage (after course cutting) with closed eyes but full throttled, missed brakes points on cold/wrong tyres aka divebombing, went on green because they cant drive close and rejoined on track without looking etc! This caused several pileups... very well done!

I want the XFR/KY2r race back..that was 99,99% clean, fun and noob-free. Everyone involved had respect for each other and knew excatly what to do and what NOT to do. (Additional pitstop because of wrong fuel calculation or pressing limiter instead of push-to-pass)

Of course this needs a bit fine-tuning... was just a rough guess.
Fastest possible lap still will be 1:32,6xx with this settings...I´m to lazy to calculate the splits/sectors...
VoiD
S3 licensed
AIRIO.srv.txt:

# Compare all split/sector times with WR, kick for too good - boolean
# If you use this check, turn it off for some time after major changes
# in WR table (cars added/updated/deleted).
CheckTime=true

# Maximum (percentage * 100) allowed time comparing to WR - integer
# 10000 = security kick on every sector/split time better than WR.
# These settings may prevent using speed hacks, if they appear.
AllowedSectrTime=9950
AllowedSplitTime=9950

Should work for XFG´s even when they get slipstream from a XRG on the straights... When they get "Kicked for security" you can ban them later
