I had a dream too. Scawen said the patch would be released at a beach, so all LFS'rs went to this beach to get the patch and ended up burried up to their necks in sand. Then Scawen came along and spread jam on all our faces and released 100s of jars of jam-loving skin-eating ants.
Just as everyone was screaming, I felt this vibrating between my legs, and when I reached down to find out what it was, I found my wang had been replaced by a phone. So anyway, I answered the phone and it was my mum. OMG. And she told me I was late for my maths exam, and I hadn't done any revision and I couldn't find a pen.
Jees, will all you people whining about the 'daily updates' that the devs are giving us kindly stfu. The main information is that there's going to be a patch before April is over. So assume the worst, and that means Sunday April 30th.
If the patch is released before that, great. If the devs give us teasers up to that date, great. That is all little bonuses and a bit of fun. If you don't like it, come back on April 30th and see if the patch is out by then.
imo no. many of the tracks have little bits of dirtroad like that round them.. plus in those screenshots there are no barriers to the other side of the dirt road, and they're too thin for racing.
Doesn't the Bible say that Scawen created LFS Patch R in seven days?
On the first day, Scawen created Tyre Sidewalls.
On the second day, Scawen made aero physics improvements
On the third day, Scawen approved new single seater dashboards.
On the fourth day, Scawen improved the tyre physics
On the fifth day, Scawen added new Aston configs.
On the sixth day, Scawen released the patch.
And on the seventh day He rested.
I really don't care for more tracks at the moment. I'm far from being a master on any of them in the few cars I like driving, so there's still plenty for me to learn!
But I will say that Westhill needs some work. It feels very sparse, hard to take some corners or reearn the track in new cars because there's so few landmarks to judge things from. And there's only one layout. It's a pretty good track but it definitely needs pepped up and some other layouts added to it to bring it up to the standards of the other tracks.
My personal opinion is that LFS doesn't do gravity properly. It doesn't seem to use a constant downward acceleration. Take a UF1 on FE-Club and pull a jump on any of the sidehills. Once the car has reached it's max height, it seems to fall to the ground at constant velocity, rather than accelerating. The cars should hit the ground with much more force than they currently do after being airborne. (It's almost like they reach terminal velocity far too quickly, and then after than it's a constant drop to the ground)
Just a quick headsup to people: If you reset your PB via lfsworld.net, then it also resets the number of laps you've done with that track/car combo. Slightly anoying to have lost 1200 laps, but not the end of the world.
Quite sure all settings are the same. Certainly the ones I looked at that could make a difference are all the same. Believe me, on a GF4 I'd notice if I had FSAA and AF on; I'd get 10fps
sil3ntwar > My graphics card is a nVidia GF4 Ti4400, so it's not the same as yours, but it is an older nvidia card.. None of my other many games show this behaviour tho..
