Quote from DK_USA :ANYONE CAN DRIVE...............................................BUT SOME CAN DRIFT

I think you mean, anyone can drift and some can drive - and by drive I mean driving fast.

I've read some of the crap you two posted in the thread hannah posted a link to, and I have to say its probably some of the most retarded shit I've ever seen on the forum.

Just man up and quit talking so much shit already, its embarrassing.

Why did you just embarrass yourself like that? Have you no honour?

Quote :What the hell do you care about us? We provide a lot of money to have the possibility to drive online LFS. We are 50% of all online drivers and YOU little *****s want to tell us to leave the forum, to leave the cruise/drift servers, to stop providing server, making skins, coding useful programms?!!!??...

No one cares, you don't actually provide any money to the community, you're probably not even close to 50% of the driving community, we're not little *insert whatever you put*, and I don't recall you releasing any software or skins that actually benefit the entire community and stop pretending like 'we' the 'others' owe you something.

Quote from SkinCast :No. I want create a login system to protect user accounts.

Why bother? LFS now requires all demo user names to be registered so there's no chance anyone will now ever have the same username (lfsworldname) so just use this to authenticate users.

Quote from Jonesy_ :I'd like to have the same shrooms than BBT.

No way iRacing is near as good as LFS, at the moment. It lacks so much content, even the very basic one, that it's not even in the same league than lfs is. Only thing it comes out on top is the driving feel, which isn't all in a racing sim.

Sure it feels great to drive, but the way one can drive it is so much more arcade than LFS is right now. No engine damage to take care of, not any kind of a clutch model, barely excisting gearbox modelling. Not even fricking functional brake lights.

But then, LFS isn't that close to reality neither.
Can't remember who said this originally, but it went somewhat along the lines of "They all suck, so you just have to play the one sucking least".

I would pretty much agree on what you've said..

I've given iRacing a whirl now and I don't really see what all the fuss is about, its pretty middle of the road if you ask me. I'm sure if you've driven any of Niels (that rFactor guy ) mods you'll pretty much know what to expect.

If iRacing is the 'best' then I'm sticking with LFS

Quote from Bob Smith :Bitching and moaning ISN'T going to speed things up. Have patience and you never know, you might be rewarded.

I don't know when I'm going to get around to looking at such things again, and I obviously can't vouch for other people, though I'm shocked that it's actually been a year now since I first started toying with this. I want a week off work soon, to enjoy the summer and catch up with things like this, so who knows.

What exactly is it you're planning on releasing?

Split Time Conversion
Rooble

I was just wondering if anyone had a small function to convert the LFS Split times to user readable times, I've taken Dygear/AndroidXP's idea and rewritten the function in VB.NET but its not perfect just wondering what other people have done for this?

TimeSpan.FromMilliseconds ?

http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=722088

<?php
  Dim returnTime
As String String.Format("{0}:{1:f}"Math.Floor(IntTime 60000), (IntTime Mod 60000) / 1000)

'1:2.53 62530 = 1:02.53
?>

It doesn't add the leading 0 for seconds I guess I could add it in there manually but perhaps there's a simpler neater example?

Attitude on some people here...

ATC Quicksilver: Although you and a few others might think Germany got lucky in EVERY game, the fact remains they scored when it mattered and progressed to the final. It might of not been as spectacular as some people would of liked or even as fun to watch, but the fact remains they got through and lost to the better team.

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :LMAO thats great! I was saying to my mates while watching the game that Germany can't win with the whole world supporting Spain.

Yeah.. the whole world

But hey, the best teams of the tournament made it into the final, and the better of the two won. GG Spain

Quote from psychometalist :yeah, to be honest that mistake from the referee killed the game's atmosphere. And then more mistakes from him really made the game tense. Probably Turkish players got a bit afraid after blown whistles in every interception so started to make mistakes in the defensive. It was a nice match anyway, congrats to Germany.

I think its safe to say you lot were probably the strongest opposition Germany had played in the whole tournament and I think your results speak for what is to be expected from Turkey in later games.

Good luck in the World Cup, I'll be rooting for you unless you're playing us.

Quote from The Moose :Has there? I'm not convinced. (I'm not going back to read every post to find out though)

Quite frankly i don't think there's been anything more than the usual football banter.

Perhaps you missed what I quoted or just found it acceptable 'football banter' but whatever I won't go on about it, its not in my nature to whine like the many others do.

Quote from Stefani24 :Just a fuking big piece of fuking luck for the fuking germans

You might not like the German football team or even like the people but keep your shit to yourself. There's been a tonne of anti German shit spouted in this thread but its getting a little offensive now, so just tone it down.

Quote from ashfurlong :will lfs work on a playstation 3 system ??

That wasn't very general to be honest, I think you actually got the answer you were looking for :P

Something more appropriate could have been : Will LFS work on anything, like my toaster?

Its good to see this team back again!!

Again like I said last night to some of its remaining members, I've heard a feck load of funny stories about most of you guys and the golden (olden :razz days its just a shame I wasn't around sooner to help take the piss!!

Anyway good luck in the future with [400] - I hope you boys get some more talent together again and get to competing against the rest of us!

Quote from Leprekaun :Hi all! When I got LFSTweak working for patch Y (Rooble's tweak which I will not be posting), I tried switching the drivetrain of some of the FWD cars to RWD. I then selected a Locked Diff to try and drift a bit but the weird thing is, it still feels open because when I turn at all, I hear the revs pick up but the car doesn't spin. When I tried using the Clutch Pack LSD and set it to maximum power locking (80%) the diff was locking better than the locked diff . So, I think this is a major bug in LFS which should be reviewed.

Each time you try and change the drive train from its original state LFS will default it to OPEN even if you ask it to use LSD/Locked, This happens on all types (4WD/FWD/RWD) and although the setup screen displays Locked/LSD etc, it will still behave and drive like its using an OPEN diff.

Quote from Becky Rose :firstly I wish to apologise profously for not being able to search, I'm in the sticks with my only net access being my phone that takes 2 minutes to attempt to open a page!

whilst being isolated out here I've been playing with LFS in the only way I know how, to program it to do things... I had a go last night at moving the Xfg and Fz5 into the Tbo class, (new engine and tyre size). I could do this under earlier patches but in Y I cannot find the patterns in RAM I am expecting, are these encrypted now? Has anyone made any inroads in "tweak-like" applications under Y?

Thankyou

Its all pretty much the same they're just located in a different area then what we were previously used to in older versions of LFS, although I don't recall being able to adjust tyre sizes or widths in anything other then the demo cars. All the other properties are available to mess with (size, power, etc) I guess you're just looking in the wrong areas.

Quote from OldBloke :OK. Now all you Johnny Foreigners stop knocking Lewis Hamilton.

We loyal British Subjects (Gawd bless you Ma'am) have a constitutional right [1] and a moral duty to make sure that any British sportsman or sportswoman who demonstrates anything approaching a natural ability to succeed at international level is placed upon a pedastal.

We use two types of pedestal:
  • A low pedestal making it easier to knock the upstart off.
  • An unstable high pedestal designed such that the upstart will more then likely fall off of his/her own accord.
This system has served us well over the years and we do not need the assistance of other nations in preparing our fine honed failures.

Thank you.

[1] The Scots have a special clause allowing them to be particularly vitriolic should the upstart be English.

That there be the funniest thing I've read in a very long time!

Al Murray springs to mind!
