im pretty sure there is software out there that can program your joystick to be a shifter, but it would be more fun to build a stick(custom ) and have the software run it.

I was casually* driving around fern bad gold reverse the otherday to burn off some stress...and i say smoke puffs in my rear view mirrordriving at 40 mph in a straight line .I've never seen this up untill the new patch(or is it my crappy pc?

Ehem. how many effing times do i have to say that neither of the cars if starting at different points will ever meet up making it as if u were racing alone.the circuit setup is to stop the drivers from getting bored of uphill stop uphill stop te usual up hill would still be implemented but,like the dragstrip there would be a way back to the "start line". the idea of adding a downhill is just an addition stemming from this.How Dare ME? HOW DARE YOU!

ok here it is,in the green area the corner configs(chicanes,snakes,etc), in the red area is the pits for each leg of the race,Blue is the uphill starting line and the purple is the downhill startingline(for a clockwise race.)

Wouldn't the car starting the downhill Run first havean advantage of downhill speed + uphill entry speed? .

That was not my idea. my idea was, that the whole track be a circuit where no matter where u start (top/bottom) both drivers go in clockwise/ counter clockwise motion the start lin for the driver startng at the bottom would be the finish line for the downhill driver or checkpoint f the driver continues the course.Same for other way around. i can't seem to notice whats so hard to understand ...i'll draw it out if i can comeout with a track design.

uum...My idea was to make it into a circuit but with the hillclimb and a return trip as to taka away from the boringness the drivers would go in the same direction at the same time, and can possibly start at the same time .

.I have a nice addition to this hill climb idea.
Since people say it may get boring, how about 2 pits? one at the top one at the bottom and the hill climb track could be made into a circuit where you chose to go down for the start or up.This would take away from the annoying boringness of a one way course, and probably appeal to those who like testing their cars top speed down a hill (me).Between each stage would be the pits due to the bumps and bruises due to happen on either of them just incase.

Just think of it. 2 pits, 2 start lines, one at the top one at the bottom, 2 seperate races on one track (uphill stage/Downhill stage).

Each to their own?

...and there I go dreaming of the possabilites of LFS getting real life cars, with a little sponsorship from car companies who know very well lfs will uberly promote their cars.

the only thing that bothers me is that i thought...(for instance in drag racing...plz don't flame this thread cuse of it but...) that tyres gain grip at higher temps due to the tyre melting(causing it to stick to the road and adding to greater off the line acceleration)...anyways...(yes i read the whole thread)

It bothers me that the LFS community can't come to agree on things that shouldn't affect other types of racers (drag/drift/grip)...and just flame for the sake of..NOTHING just becuse they can't come to appreciate that they are more types of racing out there. .Overall the idea of having tyres that smoke at the point when u lost grip isn't that bad lol ooh and even come with a new tyre texture :P ?

My Opinion: in time when this game nears completion it may or maynot have made accomodations for the many different types of racing out there.

Ill wait and find out.

uuh guys its called a anti-lag system (ALS) and the way that turbo in the XRT is workin it needs one horribly the als boosts the turbo and stop it from taking so long to charge up and depending on the car u get a varying sound effect if u want loud get one for your subaru :P

how do i install that thing :|
