Well, it would make sense to check whether Scawen's measures are effectively working to prevent future issues of that kind...

If I read about it again I'll probably be watching again... I had quite some fun watching yesterdays activities... And still that gmt time scheduling went totally wrong...

Quote from shiny_red_cobra :I don't wanna defend anyone here, but who knew the meeting room couldn't handle a bit too many people/messages?

It's a bug, they found it, and it should be fixed. That's why LFS is still in alpha, bugs are to be expected.

was about to say exactly that!

Quote from spiderbait90 :GMT Time at the moment is 16:36.
BST Time at the moment is 17:36. - British Time

19:00 GMT = 20:00BST = 21:00 in German Time.

So, Mr Rediske is correct.

Thanks for clearing that one up mate.

UnknownMaster21's post just made me change my windows time zones back and forth to check wether I was wrong...

I hate that time zone converting stuff...

Quote from dougie-lampkin :I always wondered why I could connect any of my the machines in my house together with the same cable I use for any of the routers or switches I have. I thought I'd look silly if I said it was possible

It's even working the other way round. (I have successfully used crosslink-cables as patch cables... )

I linked my post here as well...

Quote from RobbyMac :if connecting 2 computers directly, then yeah a crossover cable is needed. If you have the means, you swap pins 1 & 3, 2 & 6 on one end of the cable. Google it to be sure, (youre swapping the oranges and greens). or just buy a crossover cable.

If they're both on Gigabit-LAN (and only then) there's no need for a crosslink cable, a simple patch cable would do...

Quote :Automatic crossover

Automatic MDI/MDI-X Configuration is specified as an optional feature in the 1000BASE-T standard[1], meaning that straight-through cables will usually work between Gigabit capable interfaces. This feature eliminates the need for crossover cables, making obsolete the uplink/normal ports and manual selector switches found on many older hubs and switches and greatly reducing installation errors.
