New Guest Timed Out

Does anyone know what has happened when you see, in the top left hand corner of your screen, while doing a few laps on your own, a box saying, "NEW GUEST TIMED OUT"?
Big Thank You again to BOB

I'm just looking forward to it. Anything on GPL on any of the main 11 tracks but I am bound to be last on LFS, whatever you pick on. A Fox on South City Long or WestHill??

George, how far do you find you have to sit for your three "22 inch" monitors to be comfortable? I'm very keen on the Triple Head 2Go for flight sim use but I've heard that its also good for LFS and Grand Prix Legends, My THREE Favourite progs!!

Have been in love with GPL since it came out and still am. At the moment I can't get it to install and so when I get it back it will be like returning to an old favoured girl friend!! LFS all day is fine also. I'm easily pleased with a wheel in my hands.

Am certainly interested in the get together at Chandlers Ford venue. Am available most days so will fall in with what the majority suggests.

Don't forget to make some of them XXL. I can't stand being poured into a shirt which is a bit snug!!

Quote from TCannon :I overlap my monitors to minimize the gap and after a short period, you forget about it. I think that this is one of the best advances in gaming visuals to come out in a long time. Here is a pic of my setup playing GTL with 3 19" LCD monitors. BTW, If you have some extra cash laying around, the TH2G will also work with 3 projectors for a seamless 18' x 6' wrap around screen!

TCannon, Thanks for letting us see your set up of three monitors. I hope to be copying that in the near future!!!

I'm girding up my loins in order to do this, Beano, if I hit problems you may be hearing from me. Thanks.

Sounds and looks really tasty. Matrox themselves were asked about two TH2Gos working together and they made no promises. Might be a bit risky they implied. You know, putty melting in the windows, that sort of thing.
As I'm keen on Flight Sims too, there's two good reasons to jump on it but there's umpteen other titles compatible. They do suggest that the three monitors used for TH2Go should match, don't they? All three the same type, name...

Thanks Beano and madman, I will try to get the U version fully and finally onto my machine. How I manage to have a 60-second long procedure to get the opening credits to show up is a long, confusing and unhelpful convoluted chapter of accidents. I only know that somehow its the only way I can get it to work but I have had endless problems trying to download someone's setups or skins or the ghostcar addon.
Following "technical instructions" on a simple procedure like getting LFS installed and running seems to get me in a cold sweat and palpitations. (Just don't get behind me in a race, you'll see what I mean) If something works I stick with it although its not the best way to do it!!
Anyway, thnks again.
Once more into the breach, dear friends.......

Thanks TCannon. Does the edge of each monitor inhibit your race awareness? There is probably an inch at the edge of each monitor and obviously another inch on the one next to it.
I saw from a list of the TH2Go programs which it is compatible with, (Flight Sim 2004 etc) and they have drawn it so that the whole picture looks as if the edges don't exist which of course they must do.
This may be a daft question but....

I have two versions of LFS.
One is 0.5T and takes me about two minutes to load up because I got in a muddle with the installation procedure and and have to extract it from WINRAR every time but it runs OK after that.
The other is 0.5Q and someone helped me install that and it comes up much quicker but doesn't allow anyone to join me in a headtohead race and says the game code is different or something.
Which one should I be running and what is the difference between 0.5T, 0.5Q and 0.5U I think I have seen.
Be helpful if I can enable a friend to join me on 0.5Q version.

Thanks

Thanks Woz, I wonder if you know whether DRM actually stands for anything in particular.
I was also thinking that in any business transaction there has to be trust on both sides. If they don't trust us to look after the stuff we buy from them should they really be surprised if people are reluctant to trust them?

I've waded through most of the previous five pages but nobody has spelt out what DRM stands for.
Can someone put me in the picture please.
TRIPLEHEAD2Go??

THere is a gadget put out by Matrox which will enable three monitors to be used from ONE graphics card and give, with three nineteen inch monitors, a potential 42" diagonal screen and IT IS compatible with LFS.
I wonder if any fans have stepped into this immersive way of showing the track around them. It is compatible with a number of software titles including Flight Sims and a number of combat programs.
Anyone have any experience of TH2Go as yet?
I haven't got one myself yet but the reviews are good.

I DO have LFS but have NO experience of RFactor. I have scoured a lot of these pages but an objective, concise comparison of the two is lacking.
Can someone oblige me please.
Just how similar are they and what are the main differences?

Thanks again gentlefoot, Beckyrose and z3. All good stuff for me to take on board.

Thanks gentlefoot and Becky.
I guess its difficult to know just how many regular LFS fans still use the default setup which, six months or so after joining, I still do.
The best I've done with the Fox at Blackwood is a 1.13.48 and that was NOT the first lap!!
Knowing precisely HOW to DRAG a set up from someone else's vehicle onto my own is something I haven't found out and I have looked in the manual but no joy.
I still prefer auto gear change and have a MOMO wheel and use the left and right top red buttons for braking and gas.
The quickness of the car deceives the eye...

I got into a multiplayer race at Blackwood the other evening. Using the Fox, my and lots of guys favourites I had an enjoyable session. One bloke managed, over six laps to post 7 minutes.
I managed 7.45.
I didn't check but he was doing 1.08 second laps and hitting twenty miles an hour faster down the straight!!
Can anyone spell out in simple straightforward words and a step by step process what I do to get a layout/spec that he's got.
WOuld be grateful if anyone has an easy method of downloading whatever some blokes are doing to their cars.
Tks.
Are there any reviews on the new G25 about please?

Can anyone point me to any G25 Steering wheel reviews. I understand it is out next month and wondered if there had been any reviews on this new wheel.
