Quote from Rappa Z :I'm going to be ballsy and say this is Massa's year. Mark my words, people.

From around Suzuka onwards i get the feeling he is back, since then he has been faster the Alonso in numerious sceinarios

Quote from Bmxtwins :Thats a shame, i was hoping some young drivers could get an oppurtunity

They are better off driving in F3.5 or GP2 learning race craft then a F1 car which is only purpose is to get lapped and determine races.

Penalty System has been revised so that drivers will acquire points on their Super Licenses for driving infringements (same as points on road licenses). After a set number of points, the driver will be suspended from racing.

Despite appearance hes not fat his fat head basically gives the impression.

Quote from samjh :Grosjean F1 career race finish rate: 64% (9 retirements from 25 races)
Grosjean F1 points finish rate: 40% (10 points finishes in 25 races)

Kobayashi F1 career race finish rate: 75% (15 retirements in 60 races)
Kobayashi F1 points finish rate: 45% (27 points finishes in 60 races)

Now just deduct the reliability from kobayashi's finish rate and give him a 20% boost in points finishes because hes not driving a Lotus and then it would be more accurate.

Don't know how reliable this is but: http://www.inautonews.com/now- ... -grosjean-at-lotus-report

Honestly I think Grosjean will be lucky to keep his seat for next year after yet another dreadful error filled weekend at Brazil.

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :I thought they were just slippery surface flags, not yellows. At least that's what I read on Twitter after the race. It would make sense considering the section it was in is prone to having rivers of water going across the track.

looking through that video it definetely seemed illegal, however the torro rosso clearly let him pass and letting someone past and overtaking im not sure they are the same thing, could we get clarification for that?

Quote from BlueFlame :Replace Vettel with ANY other driver and they would of been 20seconds off the pace with the damage plus a further 2laps from the shitty pitstops and pitcall.

So what your saying is because vettel is inside the cockpit the damage is less even though his presence from the damage would be the exact same as anyone else if in the same position?

Quote from Franky.S :even alonso said it was him vs newey so..

so please go on about how Alonso makes the car and newey drives Red Bull, at the end of the day Alonso and we both have zero telamentry data of the Red Bull so its all speculation most of which is clearly tall poppy syndrome.

Quote from Töki (HUN) :Vettel would be nothing without Newey.

Don't you get mad at complaining at the next team/driver walking over Ferrari, first Hamilton and Mclaren now this, its quite sad.

This season was a big acomplishment for Vettel skill wise as he has shown he can really handle the pressure even when situations turn on there head, and while the car has been fast in parts of the year, for a big part of the year it wasn't the fastest.

suck it up and be greatful for an epic season which was 2012.

Vettel was quite impressive brazil imo, the car was a midfielder in proper dry conditions with that damage but in wet conditions he was one of the fastest cars on the field which proves he has something, the crash with senna though i think was his fault but you are deluding your self if you think this was a lucky race for him.

Alonso on the otherhand, did have some cock ups in this race and really wasn't that fast till the end.

Quote from TFalke55 :some rather worrying sounding news, to be honest... http://www.v8supercars.com.au/ ... newsid/13203/default.aspx

Given how much he drives NASCAR Trucks on Iracing i think that may be his next move.

Quote from Intrepid :Yep. AGreed... i actually think the Renault is another car which is far better than it looks.

The reason F1 is so marketable though is the inherent conflict in the way the championship is promoted. We have a driver's championship which lavishes praise on any driver who wins, when in fact what the championship really represents is more of a constructor/driver recognition. With 80% of the performance based on the speed of the car.

The reason this is genius is because it allows the formation of fans and arguments between said fans. You have 12 pairs of drivers all competing in different cars. it means someone can be a fan of a certain driver, and state why they think they're the best, despite the fact they are two seconds slower. That lack of speed is legitimate of course, but it means that you can follow any drivers you want and praise them even when they are not winning.

But at the same time... there is nothing more infuriating than seeing a driver you don't rate winning the WDC and getting all the glory... again it's marketing gold!

You pretty much summed f1 up as a whole.

Quote from CSF :Ugh, you just reminded me of the irritating Nick Heidfeld fans that sprung up when he was booted out of Formula One at the end of 2009. Suddenly some were claiming he was a superstar that was somehow unlucky not to have won multiple championships. The same people were thinking he was in with a shot of a Ferrari drive for next season.

in the end it all came down to Mclaren choosing Kimi instead of him that made them dream.

Also just because a driver may not be at their Peak doesn't mean they can't beat someone who is, there is still a thing called TALENT.

Blueflame why do you post before you think?

Or is this your actual thought out opinion?

Quote from BlueFlame :Well, you do have to be better than them at least.

One of which was older then Mansell, besides in those times teams put all there resources to the first car and the second driver got the scraps.

Quote from BlueFlame :Look at Dindo Capello, the guy was in his 40's and still one of the quickest LMP1 drivers going and both Nigel Mansell AND Alain Prost were almost 40 when they win in 1992 and 1993 respectively. So to suggest people peak at 'x' age is stupid. You can't suggest that, every person is different mentally AND physically and both of these things are required to stay at the top of the game but Simon, jesus christ.

Let it go.

and both those years the car was seconds faster then anything else.

I would say given the physical nature of todays car the physical peak would be late 20s and mental peak early 30s, sure people are different thats why i didn't mention exact years.

When two drivers of Equal reputation are in the same team it turns things on their head, Kimi and Montoya is a perfect example, For all we know Vettel could make Alonso look like Massa at Ferrari, those that Critque certain drivers tend to look at what they haven't done rather then what they have and thats hardly fair.
