Quote from UnknownMaster21 :I tried NTZ one. Pretty mad bike. Doable as long as you don't brake while cornering. However I can't do that thing at all.

The NTZ is almost two fast! I don't think I've gone faster on anything down the backstraight, wow!

Jumped on the Vulcan 998, beautiful bike, but mad speed wobbles under braking. Need to play with the engine braking a bit, not sure.

EDIT: T1 and T2 ( After the straight ), you don't need to hit perfectly on apex. In fact, it is better if you take slightly a bit outside. While on next turns, the S-turn, you must hit the apex, otherwise you end outside of slippery curb or you need to lift throttle heavily. T5 is probably hardest one, due bumpy nature. Can cut inside the curb, but seems like it is wheel of fortune whether you stay on or not. Last turn is very easy and most enjoyable one. This is due it's banked on inside. Also no fear to hit inside curb, seems to go just in limits and fine, as long as you don't physically touch it with front wheel.

Thank you for the feedback. I'll be back to "testing" tomorrow.

Anyone rode the VULCAN 998 or the NTZ EXRT-R?

Quote from adirany :Personally I refuse to use any mod because I think that a user can not develop a car for another user (It does not have the technical knowledge to do so).

Thats a ridiculous reason not to use any mods. There are some very well made mods by top ranked drivers, so that tells me they have a good understanding of how the mod should behave. Your comment shows a lack of support for the modding community, in my opinion.

That being said, I do agree that not all should be made available because someone decided to make it, because there are some strange creations. I think that the LFS staff or people with the expertise decide which mods are selected or not with tests and scrutineering, not just leave everything out there for the community to decide. The process needs to made tighter. Maybe a LFS FIA, but less corrupt of course.

Quote from Avraham Vandezwin :The day the LFS will be on Steam, this game will have lost its soul and much of what makes it unique and so great. LFS is more than a game. Its a human adventure, a model of independence and freedom. On Steam, LFS would become a commercial product among others. LFS is much more than that.

Love you all!

Now down to business. I suck at modding. Have tried, and nope, cant do it. So instead, Id like to get the community involved, and those getting involved I will pay them for their time. Cha-ching!

What I am looking for is prototype motorcycles, MotoGP style, now MotoLFS (coming soon). Create your own Constructor!

I am looking for up to 6 constructors based off of the following specs:

Spec type 1:
-Engine: 4 cylinder
-Weight (min): 150kg (330lbs)
-Power to weight ratio: 1.52hp/kg

Spec type 2:
-Engine: 2 cylinder
-Weight (min): 135kg (297lbs)
-Power to weight ratio: 1.52hp/kg

I am basing the prototypes from MotoGP Technical regulations: LINK

Submission deadline is Friday April 18th, and be available for download on the Vehicles Mods page so I can add the bikes to the test and tune server. Server link: LFSportbikes Test and Tune

Top 6 prototypes will be paid $100 USD based off of community voting, and will be available on the Test and Tune sever after the final 6 are selected.

NOTE: Your mod does NOT have to get Approved status.

If you are building a prototype, please PM me so I know who submissions will be coming from. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Happy modding!

PS - love you all!

Quote from Racer Y :Can I be honest here? The bikes in LFS make riding a real bike easy. Somebody modded a cruiser but it's geared like a hayabusa. I ride a muscle bike. And as much as I'd like to think its as fast as a crotch rocket, it's not really. I mean sure I can shoot down Ninjas and jixxers, but something that's 900 + ccs? not really..... LOL my ride is actually OLDER than LFS. But yeah. They tend to speed wobble at low speeds. Don't get me wrong. I love the bikes. And I still fight with learning to use them, I just think they need a ways to go to replicate the real experience. And unfortunately, they'll never be able to replicate the life. LOLOLOL LFS MC 1%

Interesting post, thank you.

I raced 600cc's back in the day, and now ride a SV1000. Do the bikes being created (by enthusiasts, not paid developers) replicate my motorcycles experiences? Not sure, but you are talking about two different worlds. Unfortunately, there is no commercially available racing sim that will replicate racing a F1 car, or riding a motorcycle.

What the bikes and their creators have done is give us another, very challenging, option in LFS. Because if you agree that the bikes are realistic or not, they are not as easy to race compared to the cars.

The LFS platform has opened up so much with the mods, and I cannot thank the creators and contributors enough. So I will raise your 1% another 59% for a good 60% overall rating from my perspective.

Quote from NENE87 :Well done dude!

Haha...thanks. Blackwood felt more comfortable with the BX400 compared to Westhill, likely because Westhill has faster corners and I find the BX to not handle well.

No, I can not commit to weekly races either. If we can get 10+ riders, an event every two weeks would be fun.

2 races, 2 different bikes, random starting positions (no qualifying), timed races:

Warm-up - 15 mins
Race 1 - 20 mins
Race 2 - 20 mins

Bikes can reset after a crash, even restart from the pit lane if they need to on the same bike.

Thoughts?

I think its doable. We need to find at least 10 racers wanting to race the bikes, I think it would be a lot of fun.

Quote from Racer Y :How do the bike models react to the railroad tracks on Fern Bay and South City? In real life, I've had to deal with a similar situation and it's not very fun.... I guess I could try it myself, huh? I've tried one on Blackwood, using an X box controller.... And ate it leaning too hard LOL just like real life!

Good question. Ive not even tried the bikes at Fern Bay or South City because of train tracks. But youre right, if not at the proper angle to the tracks, you could easily lose the front wheel going over them.

Quote from UnknownMaster21 :Got 2:38.10 and I fall off on last corner... Simply wobbled and threw me into air lol... ;ASD

EDIT: GP125

EDIT: Actually, that bike handles better than GP125, but I guess it is more like matter of taste.

I start to like this bike too, but definitely prefer BX400...

in fact, the power of GP125 and the handling of BX400, mix up those two and oh yes! Smile

I cannot get the BX400 to perform for me, and have tinkered with the settings, I find it really unstable. You're a better rider than myself. haha

How sliding is this scale for approval?

We only have one motorbike approved based on ratings in a car heavy community; although the inclusion of 2 wheel racing could change that down the road (fingers crossed).

Can some of the other bikes be looked at by staff members for their approval and inclusion, or the bike modders wont get much justice. Frown

Quote from UnknownMaster21 :I found BX400 to be very cool bike to drive! I always fail on that first corner after back straight... always too far to the sand lol.

EDIT: Got 2:42.75 wit BX400 ( BX40 )

EDIT2: 2:38.86

Good lap time on that bike! I havent ridden it but cant imagine its handles as well as the GP125.

Yes, the sand traps are just that, traps! haha

Keeps getting more interesting and fun. Love a challenge.

Did some races on the Mosquito 150...hilariously enjoyable as some of the corners at Westhill Intl. you can do top gear fat out through.

The Mosquito is good to learn the track and get used to 2 wheels as you have to maintain speed, momentum, and your racing lines because there is no power in that machine.

Also put the brake balance at 90% front (GP125) to reduce the chance of locking the rear wheel and putting you into a tank slapper when slowing down, especially at lean. Adjust the balance with the brake force so the bike is as settled as possible under braking.
