Quote from Boris Lozac :As i've read somewhere else, where YOU on his ranch at that time, can you guarantee that he did something wrong? FFS, what pisses me off is that people pay more atention on that, then his fu*king legendary music and dancing. He marked the last century ffs, and that's why i'm fu*king anoyed to read stupid comments like that when the man died a day ago. Be senless somewhere else, not in thread with "RIP" in the name.

my thoughts exactly. People seem to be focusing on the shadier parts of his life rather than the parts that made him a true great. He should be remembered for the music, not what he supposedly did acording to some people.

with the jokes, I have nothing wrong with them in principle, it is just my opinion that it is a little bit too soon to go around making wisecracks when tensions seem to be running high

Quote from amp88 :He settled a case a child brought against him out of court. Either he didn't want to go to court because he was guilty or he decided to pay off one family even though he was innocent in a move which would open the floodgates.

interesting how you don't mention the second court case which ended in complete acquittal....

I have an open mind. The fact he was cleared generally points to innocence. It's not like we can ask him now is it?

Quote from The Moose :Yes. Just because a jury found him not guilty doesn't mean he was innocent.

A jury found O.J. Simpson not guilty of murder.

Don't say we need to grow up... Would you have left him alone overnight with your kids? I think not.

if you're that convinced he was guilty, may I ask where you were on the jury? Innocent until PROVEN guilty. Quit regurgitating the Daily Mail in my face

Quote from Pablo Donoso :lol relax it is his opinion, that we all are entitled to one. what he meant was why do people not care about others, unless the person is famous, then they are like boo hooo, whether they like them or not, only because of that fame.

It's not quite as simple as that. Yes it is sad when a forum member's granny/dog/goldfish dies but it's something personal and doesn't need to be posted on a public forum. With an international superstar like MJ the news of his coma/death travelled around the world in about ten minutes. The amount of people he affected with his music is huge, so a massive outpouring of public grief is virtually guaranteed. With the case of S14's dog, it is not a world famous superstar singer, and it's death should have been dealt with in private.

Quote from mcintyrej :I posted this on facebook, not sure if people agree with me but I hate it when this happens:

I hate it when that happens too. I respected MJ for his contribution to the world of music, I don't particularly like what he did release (although thriller is a good song) but it is a sad, sad day

Quote from sam93 :+1

I know some of his music was good, but when someones mentions his name to me, I automatically think paedophile, not music artist.

what, even though a jury found him not guilty? He was crucified by the media over that court case, and people who still think he is a kiddy fiddler need to grow up

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Wait, I'm confused.

Someone makes a thread about something that's dear to them, be it a Dog, or a family member, and there's always a group of people that are like "HAHAHA LOL AT YOU".

Yet yet some international "superstar" dies, people automatically mourn them. When they have no contact with them, and especially when this one in particular has had paedophilia claims made against him. When he's personal to no-one and yet because he's a global superstar, everyone's like *tear*...

that's because he had talent and deserved his fame, and you have no talent or wider appeal. His contribution to the world of music was enormous, and I doubt very much you, or your dog, have contributed anything like what he has to the world
