Scirocco Cup, like the sound of that

Great news from my perspective, any new car would be.

Very nice Pipa!

Had a go at my own Gumball themed FZ5 - one from Herr Roy this time...

I had a go at a Mk1 MR2 skin for the XRG. Pretty simple really - badge on the front, couple of trim lines down the side and a few badges on the back. Took about 10 minutes, but it's quite a subtle skin. Already on LFSW.

Feel free to mod it without my permission, if by some miracle anyone actually uses it.

I modded it for myself, tried to replicate my real MR2 racing car, didn't turn out too bad I don't think -

It's quite strange for me, as before I found LFS, every other racing game I played I'd always use the chase cam. I think it was a combination of finding LFS and beginning to drive cars in real life that made me want to drive from the cockpit view. So ever since I first drove on LFS, I used the cockpit view. Like others have said, being a Sim, using anything else just seems silly to me. Like hyperactive said, it also encourages you to look further ahead on the track which is one of the first things they teach you about track driving in real life.

One thing I would like would be the ability to change the angle / FOV of the wing-mirrors.

Race 1 produces many of these moments but here's one of them - me getting a bit too enthusiastic on FE Gold Rev

I went for imthebestracerthereis as, IMO, it is the image that best fits the requirements and a great image at that.

I've just done 10 or so races with the new FXO handicapping and I think it's perfect - there were a couple of FXOs near the front but they were pretty even with the XRTs, they were by no means walking away.

And by the way, one of the races of the 10 was the best race I've ever had!

I'd love some sort of Tranny Van - Transit racing I think would be so cool

Also I wouldn't mind an XFT that could compete in the TBO class.

Yeh I'm not too sure what happened with the tyres and the back of the car... was kinda hoping no-one would notice

Oh and Luke.S... F40?

Just thought I'd come along and say that I was on this server earlier this evening and it was really good. There were about 25 players when I left, with more connecting by the minute. The racing was brilliant, either one of the TBO cars being suited to slightly different tracks.

We even tried a rolling start with a safety car which, actually, went pretty well, considering there were over 20 people in the race.

I'll be back on there often!

I'll give that a go as well, thanks, but I don't want to feel like I'm riding above the action. We'll see...

Quote from Crashgate3 :Move the view forward instead changing the FOV?

Can't believe I didn't think of that. Just been trying it out online now and it's much, much better (although I still suck in the FBM).

Thanks very much Crashgate.
FBM Cockpit view - What's the best comprimise?

I've got one slight niggle with the otherwise flawless FBM, and for me it's the cockpit view. I drive in cockpit view religiously in every car and always have done, but I find it hard in the FBM, reason being as follows...

If I have a wider field of view, so in effect sit further back, I can see both of the wingmirrors in full, yet if I look left/right, all I get it the bodywork staring me in the face and blocking my view completely. So to counter this I'll decrease my field of view, effectively moving me forwards in the seat, and when I look to either side in this position I can actually see clearly as the bodywork is lower. However, this stops me being able to see either wing mirror.

So I haven't found a position that suits me best - both for side visibility and wingmirror visibility. As a result I find huge blind spots, sometimes engulfing two cars. This means I'm not confident at all when in a close racing situation, especially somewhere like the first corner, and have resulted to driving in chase cam view when racing gets close which I hate and, to be honest, royally suck at.

So to conclude is there anyone that has a 'magic formula', or is it really a case of finding the best comprimise, like the title suggests?

Fin.

Pretty much re-iterating what everyone else has said, but still...

• Driving physics - no other game can compare IMO
• Close, online, realistic racing - how online is so smooth it could be offline
• Variety of cars and track - much more exciting than the same old things over and over
• Skinnable cars - make them look how you want
• The ease of tuning car setups - to make the car feel how you want
• Superb graphics - with relatively little impact on FPS.
• Finally, the devs, and the way we, the LFS users, can get in contact with them and report any bugs directly to them. Also, development progress - hardly any other games are under constant devlopment the same way LFS is.

Basically, I love it. I've tried many other games but always always always come back to LFS. Without fail.

Quote from hyphy_racer :Hey do you think you could do a new gtr on the fz5? probably not cuz its got all those computer systems loll
and maybe a 240 sx

Might also be slightly difficult seeing as the GT-R's 4WD and the FZ5 is very RWD.

Nice sets Zipppy.

I think the lower part of the XRT from bumper is ever so slightly different. You can see in the pics that in the first one (early patch Y), the part that is actually under the bumper, just below where it says Bilstein Dunlop, that line diagonally down is straight.

Whereas now, in Z, you can see in the second pic that that same line is more curved and slightly more pronounced.

I was 15, going to be 17 before much longer. We've had a couple of small sponsors to help ease the pain a little bit, but if we don't get any more we won't be able to run again next season. And we're running out of ideas of where to get them...

Quote from tristancliffe :... I don't mind catching slides - LFS taught me well

Here here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kt1uGwwnsr4

That was only my second ever outing on track, back when I was 15, and the MR2 had near-as-makes-no-difference slicks on the back. And yep, that last one was full opposite lock.

Tristan, I look forward to seeing how you come up with solutions to the onboard anti-roll bar adjustments, among with other things. I assume you'll be posting progress reports when you get your new car up on your website? I'll certainly be keeping an eye out for how you do the rest of this year.

Quote from JJ72 :Nice what kind of differential are you running in the MR2?

It's got a standard diff, so not a limited slip one. It doesn't really need one with the amount of power it's got, but it will still get very sideways in the rain if you want it to
