Ok fair enough, from what Moz was saying it sounded like he meant they would stamp on the brakes quite hard, which is mainly what I was disagreeing with.

Never actually seen it done on TV or elsewhere, but I believe you.

Quote from Woz :

If you watch a foot cam of a real racer they will jab the brakes well before each corner to test they still have brakes

I don't think that's correct. The only time racers in real life are likely to press the brake before a corner is if at the exit of the previous one they run over the rumble strip or something equally bumpy. There's a chance that this could dis-lodge the pads in the calipers slightly, meaning there's a bit of a gap between them and the pistons. So, they'll simply brush the brake pedal with their left foot, such a small amount that it has no effect on their speed / acceleration, but just enough so the pistons take up the slack between them and the pads.

I'm certainly not aware of anyone going along, "jabbing" the brakes before every corner to make sure they are still working.. if everyone did this, I'm sure there'd be quite a few pile-ups on track due to people randomly slowing down infront of someone.

Couldn't you simply save LFS to a USB stick / key, unlock it on there, then plug that into your PC then either run it straight off that or copy it over to the main PC drive?

Sorry if this is stupid, I really don't know much about PCs, but to me that seems like a logical option

I was only after it as I couldn't find the server online, but now I can so no need!

Same with me.

If anyone could post the original layout file (.lyt) that'd be good, fun for a bit of offline use.

Nice vid! But why was the lag "needed"?

And also, how do you get YouTube to make the vid that size / quality?

Yeh know what you mean. As I saved the replay, after I watched your vid and went and watched the whole race again twice, once from onboard your FXO, once from onboard my XRT.

Exhilerating!

Great vid, some very imaginative camera angles which were brilliant. Good job!

Noticed myself in my Pringles XRT in the BTCC clip, and have to say that's the best race I've ever had on LFS as well. It was brilliant.

Any of those dates are good for me at the mo Tristan, passed my test last week so will be able to drive down.

If I had to say which day suits me, I'd say Saturday.

I haven't bothered reading the whole thread because I'm sure it will be full of un-greatful sods moaning and complaining at having to wait an extra few days / weeks for the VWS to arrive.

Good things come to those who wait. If it takes a little longer to arrive so that it is better by the time it's realeased, good, that's what we want. First impressions count for everything; if they released it too early and it wasn't properly finished - few bugs here and there etc - more people would think they've done a crap job and wouldn't bother returning to LFS. Get it right from the off, however, and people will enjoy driving the car and'll want to play it more often.

Great news about the limited setup options, exactly what I was hoping for.

Thanks devs!

Great pics Don. Love the one of the Cossie, 2nd from the bottom!

I've attached a couple I took by hanging an EOS 10D out the car window, using a remote trigger and hoping for the best!

Logitech FFEX Inaccuracy Problems

Recently, my FFEX wheel has been getting more innacurate. By this, I mean that if you do one simple turn of the wheel to say 90 degrees, the steering in game will glitch a lot and do lots of jumps, sometimes in the right direction, sometimes not. It's more noticeable when there's only a little amount of lock on, meaning that it doesn't go exactly where you want it to and it's generally annoying, especially if you're chasing hundreths of a second.

Basically, I'm wondering if there's anything inside the wheel that I can clean / tighten or whatever to hopefully try and eradicate the problem? Sorry if my description isn't very clear, I'll try and get a bit of vid at some point.

Lynce that's brilliant. The only thing I'm not too keen on are the white specs on the car. Think it's meant to be rain? To me is just looks more like grain / low res.

Otherwise, fantastic!

Quote from OneCrazyDiamond :Don't mean to be rude, but what is the purpose of this thread?

Well, I do mean to be rude. Lerts, do everyone a favour and stop posting utterly pointless rubbish.

And VoiD, am doing that now.

Sure you haven't accidentally turned Tweak on?

Other than that, you must be doing something different...

Can it be an advert for a car in LFS?

FF, one of my main criticisms of your edits is the seeminly random blurring you do on them. The blurred portions of an image are determined simply by how far those parts are from the end of the lens, whether they be on the floor on in the sky. It's not like focus, where the sharp parts of the image are where you point it; it's distance related.

For example, in your FXO image above, the rear of the car is sharp, the signs above the road are completely blurred yet the cones which are further away from the signs are also sharp which would never be possible IRL without merging more than one image together.

I'm not slagging you off, just saying that if you take a bit more time with the blurring and do it less randomly you'd end up with much better pics.
