hehe look at the "test drive" it seems that your Ai's have a problem running the race.
the replay wouldn't start for me either, i had the same "skin" problems but in the test drive they were mostly on the cars.
probably nothing related to the problem at hand, but i'd like to show you this.
It's a offline traning-session switched via "shift+F4" from fullscreen 1280*960*32 (were everything was ok) to windowed mode were the framedrops begin.
Now i know of a distant time were that wasn't a problem and only when another window intersected the lfs-window the massive framedrop occured
It's the illusion of having an advantage above others who might not be able to setup their cars as properly as others.
I'm always sharing sets even if they are really good, because there are other sources for good sets, like the setupfield...
I don't think it's fair what's going on, but then again, nobody said that competition is always played fair.
if i say "open" settings file, isn't the programm supposed to read the data from the *.set file?
because if i set r2 slicks in lfs and open the same settings file in that setup analyser of yours, it says "road/normal" tyres in "Display: Vehicle Settings / Tyres" for my XRR...
The effect shown on your picture can be reproduced: disable the DirectX "DXT" texture formats in compatibility dialog (ati), then start gta san andreas for example and voila the same effect.
So i assume you've got only these kinds of effects, if you get giant traingles originating at some point around the theoretical centre of the screen then your graphics subsystem is overheating...
My once did and showed both effects, after a brief pause on the desktop it cooled down and worked just fine...
it happens while you're donating blood.
The procedure is rather complex but in simple terms, they need a certain part of your blood, the plasma, the rest is pumped back into your bloodstream.
So if you donate plasma u'll be doing this about 45 minutes then the procedure is done, in that time your body is lacking that plasma and i assume the restoring takes a few ressources (vitamins, minerals).
As a result of the restoration of your full bloodstream you get that metallic taste.
The nurse once told me it's a sign that the body lacks a certain ingredient, so she gave me a small dosage of something that tasted like orange juice but was completely yellow translucent.
After that i felt fine again...
you're donating blood and you get a metallic taste in your mouth, ask the nurse and she'll give you (iirc) some vitamin C.
After that small dosage you drink the symptoms disappear.
-shift manual
-use breaking help
-use autoclutch
-don't use throttle blip on downshift (helps braking with the engine)
-don't use throttle cut on upshift (while driving a turbocar, helps to keep the turbo revving)
that's what i use, but i don't claim that these are "the" best setting.
O.o nice one, i expected a half sunk tyre in the sand-pit but not this...
seems like the kyoto national bug where you are in a fullspeed right hand bend and your left rear tyre slips off track, and while getting on again, it violently bumps back on track...
i tried to set your resolution but didn't find any of your "unsharpness" or uglyness.
Maybee it's because of the way your graphics-subsystem handles resizing, since all resolutions u have given are perfectly 4:3 or 1.333333... except 1152*764 isn't 4:3 or 1.544
try to change drivers if possible, or try another graphics card.
hope that helped a bit.
i guess all that would lead to a cleaner racing in generall, but as long as that close racing collision problem isn't solved i'd rather stay unnoticed, since you could be rendered DNF because of the collision problem while fighting/defeating a position.
hehehe the link from the threadstarter states:
"No suitable nodes are available to serve your request."
but thx to jakg i was able to take a look at the "Skin" and find it's a render...
what the funk? i tought this is about a skin...
and in addition (personal taste!) i think that skin is too chaotic.
I rememeber back in school (art) where we are told to paint a sheet of paper full of lines and circles, and then to fill random sections of that chaos to "bring order"...
good evening and fast help to the flooded ones amongst us,
well i remember that scawen said once that this sim is other than the regular directX app.
In terms of generating the output AFTER the processing of the sim data took place.
So when lfs freezes, it doesn't actually freeze in the graphics section but in the processing of the output.
Unlike nfs for example, it freezes too -once- but resumes next frame, so if u'd be to capture all output frames and eliminate the duplicate frames, you'd never notice there was a glitch.
After reading my writings, i realized, that lfs continues while frozen... :/
Nfs -> freeze and resume where you got frozen
Lfs -> freeze and find yourself somewhere else (on/offline the same result)
I for one find myself to drop speed (braking) and steering to "where i should be by now" to avoid collisions while "frozen".
Assuming this is true and i'm not starting on false assumptions, i'd really (3rd time asking) like to hear something from our non AMD users about this problem...
this is really getting odd since the systems today are getting too complex to pinpoint a problems reason.
reminds me of some fun with my friends back in '92 (i think) when we played Death-Rally, Vulcans 2x, mines, sabotage, collect funny things around the track.
was a top-down view game, but had real 3d panning of high mountains or cliffs.
in my observations that freeze problem affects all directX apps.
As for sounds I know lfs uses synthetic sound (mainly).
I have a really old Creative AudioPCI (ES1371, ES1373) (Windows Driver Model) with MS-drivers running, because the Audio2k drivers (for NT 4.0) produce a regular stutter in all apps.
I remember that i've read an article about DX10 and their pro/conns in comparison with DX9, i'm no expert but they said that the sheduling with DX10 was been massively upgraded, while it was a bloody mess with DX9.
So i'd like to hear from a few Vista+ DX10 hardware equipped drivers if they have similar freezes.
And since the freeze occours only once per lfs session (shortly after joining a game, on/offline) i'd like to rule the PSU out because these freezes would be really often.
So long...

Reason : grammar correction
nope we didn't, since i got a Nvidia N-Force2 Ata Standard microsoft driver running for ages and i have the freezes too.
<<< hopes it's nothing with the memory N-Force drivers or the barton CPU, since you can forget a serious amount of processing speed without them.
And yes, i use the fastest Barton available (3200 Xp+) at nominal timing of DDR400
@Albieg:
To be protected by various net-side irregularyties, you need a PSU thats burst/surge resistant (german standard is 1 kilo-volt for home and office usage, while tests usually exceed 2 kv wich would be "cool" for industrial use) and as a high support time (bigger than 20ms) so bridge out net current-losses due to provider-net-switch acivities.
(notice a room-lighting drop and return to normal, in short timing).
let the search continue.
@kx_mole
how to find out (fast and convienient) what exact version of the N-forced ones i use?
regards
Micha

Reason : forgot a detail :S
i was wondering what kind of hd you where using, because i always get a curve like this: (fast test of a Ide).
is it a S-Ata drive, or does your hd-infrastructure limit your bandwith to your drives, or are they just plain fast?
Because even the tests of the c't (well known magazine here in germany) get's results similar to mine...
