just a guess, but maybee this happens due to a "restricted user" since more and more users run their machines using restricted users to be more safe.
so try to run lfs.exe via "run as" (right click) as admin...
or the attributes are mixed up...

common sense, hm, if your familiar with racing, more than the average go-kart-noob then maybee.
but certainly that doesn't apply to me yet.
so this young padawan needs to study a lot more...

just watched a few wrs and i must say some tracks are ("cheateble") others not.
nevertheless the drivingstyle IS fast but after one lap you'll need new tyres.
so these setups are just eating tyres right? Then forget about this WR thing.
well ok it shows how good cars/drivers can be adapted to a certain situation, but for me a race usually should last more than just one/five/ten/twenty laps.
so more things make your race fun, like "will i get my tyres trough, or flaten them next corner?", enough gas on board, telephone unjacked? etc...
where to get the WR replays?
micha1980de

moin, it could be simple...

search the forum for "wr replay" and get something usefull, but... find out yourself.
since i'd like to learn safe-fast-competative ways of whiggling around tracks, i need wr's replays, to learn from the best...

but can't find any, not even on lfs-desktop, a nifty list sure, but no source.

or didn't i look close enough?

thx guys for help.

Edit: found out myself, you need to klick on the times...grrrr

so you could say it's like techn. evolution to car engineering?
hm, assuming it's like that.
why are still rwd or fwd cars raced?
if they are outdated?
or worse, why are they still produced to be regular cars?

so if 4x4/awd (difference?) cars are that bad, why are they actually raced IRL?
the other thing that got me used to any kind of 4x4 cars is the fact that, in theory, you have better chances to get "away" cause you have 100%+ more driven tyre to pull you away...

that'll be great thx...

hi guys, need a hint...

3ds = mesh file
mtl = probably a materials file
max = ???

got here some real cars 3ds+mtl+max... but in cinema 4d the textures are just gray...

well if its just points detections then why not install a contact detector in the next model upgrade?

well since computer races are born and in 3d-meshes this clipping problem seems to jump from game to game like a virus from host to host...
micha1980de

well it's not that hard i guess.
it's like defining some polygons at the arch over the wheel as road.
cause the road has clipping.
the bodywork not (in that place)

well has anyone of you some knowledge for cinema 4d?
i could google myself but i prefer to have people to people contact instead of machine to people contact.

i'm especially seeking knowledge about skinning, after i've read that in 3ds its just applying the game-skin to ONE object and the rest is done by the prog.

so i've tried various ways of skinning the fxo but it just looked weird...

Quote from tristancliffe :...Cos the reflections always looks clean and nice, where as mine (googled and Devianced) are quite bitty and fussy...

Maybee it's because others use "hard" shadows.
in cinema 4d for example you can choose between 3 diff sorts of shadows for lightsources. (see attach.)

none
hard
soft
area

theres got to be sth. like that in 3ds max too...

the silliest way of having a dual boot sys is to let the osses not know of each other...

pro: no need for special instal order, the osses can replace their opposites since NO used files are locked, no special imager is needed. just copy the files AS LONG as it's still the SAME drive (changed partition size never tested) cause else xp won't load since it's looking for a hdd-volume number generated by xp.

contra: u need a bios that can boot-jump from master/slave so no special bootloader is needed

hm, nice idea for screenshots but i already see the discussion if the photoshopped blur is to much/less cause of the lack of reference pictures with real cars at different speeds and different exposure in the camera timing...

but nice idea

well we have to admit that were ALL addicted by the racing fever, so it's fine with me and my smoking lorry :P

so then the point is not to beam back to pits and return on racing after instant repair...

Quote from Tweaker :If a car is going 150mph and you look at the wheel, there is really no possible way you could make out the details of the wheel, it will be blurred...

if you want to (and know how) you can easily look at any moved object at almost any given speed.
the trick is done like a projector, not staring at the same spot and magicaly wait for the picture to blend in your head, but to look fast over it and locking the object for a split second and then continuing the eye-movement over to something else. (like the stuttering used to transport film in a projector)
it's a nice way to tell if some light is "flickering" due to alternating current or not flickering due to direct current.

But in general you wouldn't see very much, maybee you can tell how many arms that spinning rim has but not very much more.

nevertheless it's more important to have some more serious issues fixed than the looks.
all the "Details" are important sure, i'm human and therefore driven by image & sound (thanks to evolution) but if the basis (physics) is setup properly and conclusive, then all these details will come from other people like all these nifty mods...

sincerly...

irrelevant??

hum, want to see you trying to go on after a broken thumb for example after someone made you hit a wall and the steering wheel spinned your thumb with it...

i dunno too cause it's just a raw 2,5Khz mono sound... i've succesfully canged other sounds like the menu sounds (hate that klick) or the finish sounds...
so u're right it IS weird.

still nothin' to hear...
tried 6 AI drivers, and watched from all views, but no special new sound to find there.
so.....

well i suppose it's a turbo-donw-rev sound... right?
then how come i cant hear it?
i played with the sound settings but still can't hear it...
i listened to the orig and the new file but can't make when it has to occur.
i even made a 3kHz 2sec long beep but still can't hear it...

(normaly when getting of the throttle right?)

Quote from dreamcastninja :what is displacement for engines?
wtf man? you know jack shit about cars.

same for you and genetic engenieering i bet.

ok hotshot then try this...
how about i'm smashing notions at you and better in german, tell you things you never heard before, but know logic behind things, but you can't tell cause you don't understand...

so if you DO understand any of these, good for you, but if not then think about that.
English isn't that hard to learn but it's the small differences in the vocabulary that makes it hard to understand.
By the way how many languages can you understand/speak ?

Also pass auf was du sagst du grossmaul!
