Which the T500 has. Not sure what's the point in it with a sim wheel though, not exactly a problem with space like in a car with roll cage.
Fanatec build quality seems to still be pretty much toylike, friend is on his 4th CSW now. Not what I'd call a reliable product, atleast their warranty works now, still sucks to be 2-3 weeks without a wheel every now and then.
Hard mount, change the wheel to something with leather, then it feels better than anything else under 1k pricepoint. Also 1080 degrees.
TH8 is awesome, the throws are pretty long compared to Logitech shifters, but it does feel like it could take a nuclear blast and survive. You can rage the gears in as hard as you can and it'll thank you for it.
Forza devs record their sounds on a dyno and push the engines at different load levels, PD still do it (atleast in GT5) only by free revving the engines without load. If anyone knows better, please do correct me.
Still not sure if I'm even going to buy GT6, maybe once it hits the bargain bin.
Well that's strange, because I tested dual screen surround (Edit: actually, it was propably on eyefinity now that I think of it) with my old 20" dells and it worked just fine. It was un-usable in gaming due to the bezels being in the middle of where you're looking at, but it did work.
And like I said above, it's the only method you can currently use 4K PC displays, as they use older connections that don't have enough bandwidth for a single 4K image using a single cable. HDMI 1.4 and DP 1.2 fix that issue thankfully.
I do have to warn about AMD eyefinity if anyone is thinking about jumping in to it. The way AMD does multi monitors, is by using software composition, so if you enable eyefinity, you're going to get screen tearing even in 2D desktop. Nvidia does it with their hardware based composition, so you won't be getting any screen tearing when moving windows around for example.
You need to have only two physical connections, then it works. Thats how 4K screens also currently work, they simulate a single screen with two internal "screens" by using surround/eyefinity.
Also related to that: windows key + left right arrows resizes windows automatically to fill either half of the screen, found it pretty nice when I tried to learn to code some Java.
I did hear some SSD's have trouble going in to sleep with W7, haven't had problems on these OCZ and Samsung drives though.
I've disabled almost all of those annoyances from my W7 installation, assisted device installations and UAC can be disabled with just a few clicks.
While it's sad that that some things in W7 have regressed from XP (like dual screen support for LFS) I do find it to be a much nicer OS to use day to day, especially when it comes to security. It still doesn't feel anywhere near as stable at the core as Linux or OS X does for actual critical work though.
Sad to say, but this kickstarter idea wasn't very well thought out. I think most of the people who would have pledged have already pre-ordered directly from the devs and they're not going to pay twice. Doing the kickstarter AFTER opening the direct pre-orders always has this effect.
Also given their fairly high goal, they should be pushing new screenshots, videos and dev diaries every week, otherwise they have no hope in hell of reaching that goal.
Then again, they've stated that the game WILL be made no matter what, so I guess this would just be an extra boost for the development costs.
It's not as graphically intensive as people think, but it requires a fairly beefy CPU.
While doing some PSU testing, I noticed my watt'o'meter jump up by nearly 100 watts when firing full auto in Arma 3 while the CPU was crunching all those ballistics.
I'm not defending super extreme boards, just recommend avoiding the cheapest ones you can buy (unless building some simple HTPC system) and rather going for the middle of the road, more sensible ones that offer more future expandability for not much more money.
And yes, I'm on X79. Cheapest X79 boards are under 180 euros these days, I don't think that's too bad for what's basically a workstation/server platform.
Entity is arguably the best supercar, Carbonizzare is the best sports car though it lacks some top speed unmodified. It can actually match some supercars in tight races.
