We have the same topic every week
Maybe a pop up on this part of the forum, the first time someone come here, to tell that they should read the suggested improvement first page and use the search engine before posting anything would be a good idea !
Real cars don't fit into an ordinary computer. They are just too big. We also tried to pass a car through the phone wire but without sucess so far. If the providers decide to enlarge their wires (at least 2 meters in diameter) we may have a hope to get a real car transmitted from one computer to another
Seriously, did you consider the possibility that you bought the wrong game?
BTW, there's no real cars in video game, only real names and close designs.
I'd like it to compensate for the reduced FOV we have because of our small screens. I mean that whenever a car that doesn't appear on our screen enters the normal human FOV from the driver's eyes it should be shown on the screen as you describe it.
I really hope too that we will get a race truck in S3. The ultra heavy experience . It would be a great improvement for the diversity in the game and there's not many truck simulation out there ( a very old one and a crapy mod for Rfactor)
Here the test have become harder and harder over the years. Passing the test in 3 weeks wouldn't even be administratively possible. IIRC the theory test can be taken only 1 month after they registered you to the "prefecture" (so expect at least 1 month and a half) and you have to drive for at least 20 hours before taking the exam (if you can schedule them over less than 2 month you can consider yourself lucky; at least near paris).
Learning to drive the car is the easiest part. They are very pernickety. If you didn't slow down before a street that have the priority (i mean even if you don't see a car comming) you can say goodbye to your licence. If you forget to watch your mirror before slowing down it might achieve a similar result (And you better move your head so that they can see that you did it), even if you watched 10 secondes ago and there was no car comming 1 kilometer behind you, if you look like you're not confident bye bye, if the examinator don't like you... etc,etc...
The stats are funny, around paris IIRC ~25% succeed on their first try.
I passed my licence in march, we were 3, I'm the only one who got it. According to the driving teacher, the other guy drove perfectly but the examinator kept yelling at him and ....
We don't live in the same place I guess
If i go outside it's to go far very far, cause outside there's nothing but grey building and gloomy peoples here
It's funny to see how many people are pissed by the crusing/city driving servers. Hey it's just a relief tool, a great one. When I was not in the mood to do a race I used to drive alone offline with winamp running in the background. Now I can do the same with many other players around. Some of you complain that it steals drivers from the racing servers? If there was no crusing servers they would probably not even be online at this time, maybe not even playing LFS
If we had rally stages I guess we would need a rally stage builder! Part of the fun with this kind of event is that you drive blind. I mean you hardly know the stage.
LFS is not supposed to go that far! If the Devs continue after S3 final, I guess it will be a brand new game (probably using the LFS physics engine as a basis).
We can't just stay with pehistoric graphics only because some players still play with over 5 years old computers. Things have to move on. I'm not saying it is that important in a racing game but the computers' age is just not a good reason to keep the game that way. And actually my computer is a dinosaur
If the content was something like:
2 rally cars, a hillclimb rally car and a buggy
+ Many tight rally stages with different surfaces ( dirt, asphalt, snow,...) + at least one hillclimb
I would be glad to pay 12£ for it!
The cockpit view is unrealistic because we see 2 time the ~50cm space between our eyes and our screen!
The custom view (when moving the camera forward) allows us to get rid of that problem but creates another unrealistic issue which is allowing us to see things we shoudn't be able to see from our sit!
Could we have a zooming tool inside the cokpit view? The view wouldn't be different than the cokpit view but would focus on a particular part of the screen
