The current linux builds use 3 cores IIRC. It shouldn't be too long until they are able to use 7. If you're going to the US soon and you have the money (and want to spent it) then buy it.

Just an update, LFS Spectator AND RaceWatcher work. (I tested RaceWatcher earlier but I presume Spectator will work too)

I have mine set to my paddles since I'm using my sequential stick (I have a DFP). I know the G25 doesn't have many buttons on the wheel so it's kinda not an option for those with G25s. 
One suggestion from me, use your indicators to indicate which direction YOU will move in. For example if you're on the left side of the track and about to be lapped, turn on the LEFT indicator and slow down.
I got a 1:49.76 a couple of days ago. Since tomorrow is the last day I'm gonna have one last attempt at cracking the 1:48s or at least low 1:49s.
