No, I do not want to be restricted to a different car than I chose. My understanding with the league was that you chose one of the 3 cars it wasn't restricted. Kinda takes away from the whole idea of GT racing too, only having one car.

@Sully - yeah, I know the right size, we tested a load of different ones during a day once and the fastest was a tooth higher than most people run. Probably due to me being about 13kg overweight

I'm karting again this weekend. I hope it goes better this time, although second novice last month was good, maybe I'll even get a trophy I'll have a new spark plug and sprocket which should make my engine a bit less sluggish (my current sprocket is bent ). Now I've just gotta persuade my dad to buy me new tyres...

Its a public road, normal cars would get pulled over for missing a wheel so I don't see why rally cars should be a special case

Skins? Who said anything about making skins for the forum? I've already got the basic layout. It shouldn't take longer than about 4 hours to do but I'll probably only get about 20 minutes on it each night until the easter holidays now. They're only a week away so I'll have plenty of time then.

No it isn't. On the first day of the BF1 patch I did tons of laps without TC round KYGP Long. Just be careful with the throttle.

/me thinks a 6 litre V12 BF1 is more fun...

Happens on a lot of tracks, the actual model of the track rises but the contact mesh (not sure what its properly called) doesn't. Someone with more knowledge of 3D stuff will be able to tell you more.

But yeah, it's a bug.

Thanks for the advice both of you, I'm now trying what you said.

I know that but there are people on here that know about setting a car up. I am hoping for just some basic tips to help me on my way. I know it isn't easy and there's no shortcut to knowing it all but a few tips on which direction to go in can't hurt.

I read the old thread on FXR endurance sets but then realised it was from 2005, before the physics changes, and I was wondering if Bob's tips still apply?

Should I still set my Torque bias to 20-25%?
Should I get rid of the locked diffs and put in clutch packs with high power and low coast settings?

My team are racing in the IGTC and I have a setup that will last at least 30 minutes but it's quite slow and I feel that we could still get it to last longer.

I am not asking for a setup here, I am asking for help on how to make one. By all means, post your sets but I would like to know what you did.

And, last but not least, we're racing on SO City long.

The thing is, the X360 is over-priced too. The Americans got the PS3 for $599TT, that's about £305. That was the 60gb version as well IIRC. The X360 is also $599 with the HD-DVD drive. So they got theirs about £100 cheaper than us.

IMO it is overpriced. As much as I like it I can't see why the Americans got it for an X360+HD-DVD comparable price while ours is £100-200 more

EDIT: Ignore my last comment about the X360. I still think the PS3 is overpriced though (but I still bought one )

Just a note to everyone saying the PS3 has failed in the UK. They've had 165,000 sales in the first week. (Wii had 105,000, X360 had 136,000) (Ok, the Wii ran out of stock)

@Thor - I forgot about the possibility of LFS on the PS3... There won't be any FFB though, will there?

EDIT: Just realised I'm already playing LFS in a non-standard HD resolution, so its not that big a deal.
