Most workshops won't just give you cash and say "Hey, Go fix it yourself"
For one, you'll need to ring around and get quotes, they wont just go "thats about...$500, here ya go" And if you don't get a quote cheap enough who says they will even give you the cash?
If you didn't make a claim and they decide they don't want to give you cash, you don't have a leg to stand on and you're completely ****ed.

In most cars i've come across, the crossmember tends to sit slightly lower than the sump, you're more likely to hit that. And your exhaust...and your chassis rails...
My brothers car is 25mm off the ground at its lowest point and its never hit the sump, no scratch marks what so ever.

The Injectors and fuel pump aren't up to the task of putting enough fuel in the engine, while the turbo is capable of putting in twice as much air.
See the problem here? We need more fuel to up the boost, at the moment its on full duty cycle.
The fuel system is the only thing holding it back, would make the 450 bracket with ease otherwise, its a built/forged motor.
