I don't know how it is with N\A cars, but on jap turbo cars its general knowledge that fuel consumption will LESSEN after a tune, as most jap turbo cars tend to run extremely rich from factory.
True to an extent, A tuned ECU by itself won't really do a whole lot due to obvious restrictions. A good intake setup and exhaust with a tuneable ECU, you'll be able to feel the obvious power/torque, and sometimes even earlier spool, because the engine has more room to breathe.
There are so many dodgy, terrible, and shit tuners out there that it really isn't funny.
I'm not doubting that remaps work. I've been in plenty of cars with not just chipped ECU's, but piggybacks and in some cases stand alone.
Theres no doubting they work, i'm just saying that the dyno figures when they're done mean absolutely nothing because theres so many different varying factors. A dyno is a tuning tool, thats it, its not an accurate measure of power.
So it irks me when people say "I gained xxhp with my remap"
Especially when the claims are something silly like 50hp, when theres been no other modifcations(Mainly breathing mods) done to the car. (Exhaust/intake etc)
I've never liked dubstep that much, Skrillex is the nail in the coffin for me...
I hate how dubstep is blown up out of nowhere in the last couple of years, only to be taken on by every indie kid/trend followers out there.
The day Gabber/Terror gets played on mainstream radio is the day i quit raving.
He wen't home to an empty bed, when he could have had that girl in.
You say thats not gay?
Why would you turn down something positive?
It honestly baffles me. If someone offered me a car, i don't go "No sorry, i'll wait until i've been offered a Ferrari"
Who cares if shes a slut/skank/tramp, if shes attractive, wrap your pen0r and get plowing. You don't have to marry the girl.
That, and dyno figures are easy to forge. The chart doesn't show ambient temps, intake temps, or even the ramp rate of the dyno... All of these affect the power reading.
The numbers don't mean shit, go chuck it on any other dyno and youll have a reading that would be anywhere from 0-50 difference. Theres so many differing factors its not funny. The only thing you can take off a dyno chart is the power curve
i know a guy thats running a 2jzge thats been converted to big single making 440rwhp.
been like that way for a couple years now, and its by no means treated nicely, its often says the track+drifting along with hard street driving.
Im very experienced in turbo cars man..and i never said turbo cars wouldn't break down more, theres more parts to go wrong so of course things will happen.
But if you're tinkering with cars in the first place turbo's really aren't that much more expensive if properly maintained, and as for dangerous...? not at all lol
and all your comments just re-inforced everything i said, which is why i said do a turbo setup PROPERLY. upgrade EVERYTHING, not just jump to a new turbo, wind up the boost and leave it like that
Blown engine = Multiple reasons, you can't put it down to "It blew up because it had a turbo"
Blown parts = Shit/China parts
Blown bank statement = Dont buy shit you can't afford.
Yeah, turbo'ing N\A cars properly are expensive. Who'd have thunk?
Blown gaskets = Depends what type of gasket we're talking...
Warped manifold = Stop buying china parts
A broken 3rd gear = treat the car nicely or get an aftermarket gearset
If you do it properly, all of that shit can be avoided. if you cheap out and don't do it properly, those issues will arise.
