The blu-rays are coated with Zircon, a substance almost as tough as diamond. Trust me, ALL of my blu-rays dont have a SINGLE scratch. I also bought a second hand game (they tend to be scratched to hell) and it didnt had any scratch either. So unless you hard scratch the disk with a screw driver, it won't scratch.
If they're done and at optimizing stage, I don't see why they can't be released as a TEST patch. Some of us have powerful CPUs, the optimization can be done while we're playing
We could have a S2/S3 users only "EXPERIMENTAL" version of the current patch in development, this version would be unfinished and bug-filled with a section dedicated to it and maybe topic locked to avoid people posting and spamming. This will increase sales by a lot and make people happy, calm and supportive.
After this experimental version is more stable and less bug-filled, it would go as official public TEST patch where people can report bugs. I've seen this method for plenty of games and it works GREAT.
I'm hoping to see the first test patch before septemberI'm guessing the physics are done and only bugs are delaying them, apart from possibly unfinished VW stability control. By the time it gets released, the other unanunced S3 car should also be done (6 months should be enought time for a car). I'm more excited for the new content and stuff than the physics, specially:
Fun things sound like fun
Anyway, I'm pumping some hype to help unpatient people, this patch will be the biggest and best patch of LFS history!
Playing with what, 1-2 people? Great fun. And mods only change the car's shape so you'll be driving the same cars with different exterior.
Stop being a hobo and buy the goddamn game. If you saved 1€ every month within those 4 years that you have been demo, you would have had enought to buy S2 a year ago.
In the last two day I've been getting these weird car crashes twice and it's very annoying. My LFS is unmodded except texture mods. I don't lag, my ping is very good (~50).
Is it because others use vob mods? Lag? Physics fail?
