It seems like more work to me, having to send out information to someone else who in turn will post it on the forum/website.

They might just do it themselves, but they don't really.

Maybe the best thing we could all do is just stay offline, make the devs think that everyone left.
That would surely put them under pressure

Glad i'm not the only one then, it's a habbit that seriously needs dealing with!

When you're trying to hit the apex in every corner, even left ones.

Quote from cargame.nl :Which sunny days? I expect snow any time now.

Didnt need to put the beer in the fridge yesterday. Could leave it outside, 2 degrees Celsius

Yeah big difference compared to last year around this date.

30 degrees celcius... don't know if that was any better though.

Yeah they're inovative allright!

Back in 2006 i loved looking at how the tyres moved arround, it was, and still is very impresive!

The awesome physics is also the first thing that comes to my mind when i hear or read something about LFS. If only they made it as big as Polyphony Digital, but then with a better product. Obviously.

Maybe they're working on LFS 2?

Even Polyphony Digital spended 6 years to create a new engine and a new game, eventhough they have a "slightly" bigger budget.

Quote from boosterfire :
The car dealer analogy is good, but the question is: why would this person even bother visiting the dealer in the first place? Probably because they owned this brand of car before, and are sad to see it go to waste.

Or they're still interested but don't want to admit it.
All we can do is wait patiently, and play the "dead" game i guess.

Also isn't LFS still in Alpha anyway?

Quote from Sobis :Oh god, imagine an e-mail from LFS Tech "Live for Speed is dead"...

Or just as a post in this thread.

I'm quite sure that the community would happily take it over IF that ever happens, the good part of the community then.
I'm not really interested in a cruise simulator.

Quote from boosterfire :Oh, I see. It's this old argument again: "You've not raced as much as X so you've got no right to complain". Or, "You've not raced every car around every track in both directions at least once so you've got no right to complain".

You don't need to have raced a million miles to argue that LFS has been almost stagnant for a very long time now.

It's that people who last played in 200x, are coming to the forums just to call the game dead.
It's not that they don't have rights to complain, who does anyway, but that it just feels a but unnecessary.

It's like going to a car dealer and calling their brand dead, just because you haven't seen any of their cars for while. No?

I've been around since the start, 2005? Browsing around on the forums and sometimes playing around on the demo servers with my old demo acc.
Even though progress is slowing down since then, the game is far from being dead, as we are still around to this day discussing whether the game is dead or not.

And if it was i'm quite sure one of Scavier solutions would notify us.

Oh, well you sounded pretty negative about me using a PS3 controller.

If i had money and space for a steering wheel i would've definitely used it! Sadly i had to sell my old one already because of it.

Ah, so that was supposed to be insulting? Misleading me with false hints?

Finaly got it working, perfectly!

I had to select combine gas/brake instead so that Z+ would be used for throttle and Z- for the brakes.

Thanks all for the help!

Tried everything you guys said, using the Xbox 360 layout in motioninjoy now and calibrated them,
it feels much smoother and it kinda works untill i press L2.

Is there maybe a way to seperate L2 and R2 in two seperate triggers? I tried mapping them in Y+ Y- and X- X+ but without success.

Installed it and it works! Thank you all very much!
Only problem i'm having now is that the throttle is stuck at 50% as RT and LT are one trigger according to LFS.

Shouldn't be hard figuring out what's wrong though.

What option do i need to select to use the tirggers as axes?
The only two axes i found in options were the ones for the left and right thumbstick.
PS3 Controller - Bumper as throttle

Hello everyone!

I recently dicovered that you can use your PS3 controller on a PC, which i am using ever since.

The only problem i'm having is that i'm not used to having instant throttle with the bumper buttons, or braking/accelerating with the thumbsticks.

Is there anyway i can use the bumpers in the same manner as with GT5? So that i can dose on the throttle?

Quote from CodeLyoko1 :the same reason why they do it with other games

Well i'm glad that LFS is not on steam yet.

Just imagine what would happen if the servers were filled with casual gamers, crashers and full time demo users.

Quote from dawesdust_12 :If you read most/all EULA's for software/games and even Steam's agreement.. They are the same. You never ever actually "buy" a game, you only ever buy a licence to access said game. Operating Systems are also the same.

Then why would Valve consider distributing LFS if the licenses are sold by the LFS devs? You would download the demo from Steam, just to buy a license from lfs.net?

Unless Steam and LFS accounts would merge this wouldn't work, or make Valve any profit whatsoever.

Quote from The Very End :Yes!

The more the merrier.

Couldn't agree more!

Only problem is that you don't buy the game, but a license. So how would that even work trough Steam?

I remember getting a disc on my birthday way back in 2004/5 which contained 20 racing games, they were all demo's though. But LFS was the one i enjoyed the most! And still stuck around ever since.

But i still haven't gotten to the point of buying a S2 license, since a S3 license was lurking arround, way back in 2008. That, and the FBM still keeps me busy!

Never really spended much time on racing though, i always messed around with the car's settings. I even remember you could change the wheel track on the XFG and XRG.

Decrease the wheel's track, higher the suspension, soften the springs, and look at the AI's roll!

Also i spotted that the link says MRT6, and in the Cars and Tracks menu it's just the MRT5. Probably been just a experiment then...

Quote from xtremeracer83 :I personally stumbled upon this after buying S2! Personally, I feel it's just an unreleased version of the MRT5. Essentially, it's the same as the MRT5 without the little canards around the wheels along with the front/rear wings. It does look interesting, but that rear wing is floating!

Verdict: Unfortunately - this exact appearance of the MRT5 does not appear in the game, but I can assure you those additions would only offer down-force options, which could be seen as unnecessary given the specs of that car. Despite the lack of this EXACT design in the game, the MRT5 at its present appearance/specs is a beautiful car to drive. In other words, S1/S2 is well worth the buy

Ah thats a shame really, i will look into buying a S1/S2 license anyway then.

Thanks for the info!
What happend to this car?

Was browsing trough the older screenshots and found this :

Is this the beta MRT5 or something? I have never seen it on Youtube nor in the car selection screen. Is this car in LFS? If so instant buy for me Also sorry if it has been asked before.

Edit : Better view of the thing.
