Quote from Shotglass :forget about those 4 strokes all good rc engines are 2 strokes

i dont think you are seing the point...a 4 stroke with a supercharger on it will be as good as a 2 stroke...superchargers don't work on 2 strokes...i was also thinking on scrapping the idea of the plane engine lol...i dunno aout that.
I might just whack 2 whopping great Force engines in their...2 stroke.

Custom RC Buggy

Hi lads.
This is to the people from the U.K...i was just interested to see where you get your Remote control parts from...I actually have a shop near me, called Hurricane Models, but are there any online shops?...i was thinking of making a custom buggy with my cousin...i know i can get all of the stuff from the shop...apart from a few things.

It will have 2 4 Stroke RC Aeroplane engines in....both with Superchargers on them, cusom air filters, and Nitrous injection....those goodies will be from http://www.rbinnovations.com/
I'm sure the superchargers will work with the 4 stroke engines...because they wont on 2 stroke, as the ports are all open, so the air will go in, and come straight out again, lol!
It will on the 4 stroke though

I guess it will be 4 Wheel drive aswell...
I was just wondering...because the plane engines are made to run consistently at high RPMs, will they have enough power to get it going from the start...Maybe the superchargers could help with that?

I currently have the XTM XT2 http://www.rcuniverse.com/maga ... isplay.cfm?article_id=754
This actually has a really good engine in, its a 24.7 engine.

Quote from Gekkibi :Well, if you just want to "zooming away" from the track, put FOV to as high as possible.

There, problem solved.

yeh, then a bit more, and a bit of a higher view, and you have an audience's perspective...

Quote from Gekkibi :For the same reason we can't have "free tracks". It has something to do with graphics engine. If you want more specified answer, you'll have to ask it from someone who really knows something about it.

comeon, just think about it as "zooming away" from the track

Quote from Gekkibi :I would also find it useful to use racing line while editing layouts. However, unfortunately your second suggestion is (If I have understood it correctly) impossible.

whats wrong with the second one
I think he just means the camera moving a little bit more AWAY from the track, so you get the audience's perspective

Quote from anik360 :GMC (Korean Case maker) showed off their case in CeBit which they call the R-4 bulldozer, I WANT ONE OF THOSE. That's the most vulgar case and is like a show stopper. Take a look Here

now that is pretty sexy...

Quote from Mike Bingo :Somehow I think my rig is not set up correctly for LF. I can get 90 - 95fps when I'm hot lapping but with a full grid of cars going into the first turn it only manages 30 - 35fps and my PC spec is pretty good:
Intel dual core 2.4 e6600 processor
2gb PC6400 ram
8800GT Graphics card 512mb

And still only 95fps!?!?!?!

install new drivers?

Quote from dmwright :I get around 80FPS on Full graphics - Best one possible with everything on E.g Rims, Skins etc. I get this on a fullish grid - Is that good?

yes.

Quote from dropin_biking :Exactly, but it's still playable. I average about 15fps doing some hotlapping (the trick is to use half-res textures, replace some textures with solid colour files, things like that) But don't you have your e2180 machine anyways? Why would you care about crappy performance on a P4? Oh and just so you know, your P4 is much more powerful then my Celeron.

when i was like...10 i had a Pentium 3 900Mhz which was running around 15fps....its playable, but the point of a game is for it to be playable to a good standard...i still say

2Ghz+ Processor
258Mb Dedicated Graphics card
512Mb RAM

you must be a hardcore dedicated racer to spend that much on a simulator just buy one of those 401 force dynamics

Out of preference, i'd just prefer 2 3570 Ati Beasts, or 2 8800 Ultra in SLI....Maybe the 8800GT is best value for money and stuff...?

Quote from dropin_biking :I play LFS just fine on my 2.2ghz Celeron on onboard graphics, even back when I had 96MB of RAM. The MINIMUM specs listed seem okay. I run 800x600 to be greedy, I get perfectly smooth performance at 640x480, so I'm sure a lower spec processor, and lower spec intergrated graphics will be able to run LFS okay.
~Bryan~

you imagine....i live, i have the exact same as it says, ok, fair enough. It's a brand new installation of Win. 98 on a Pentium 1.7Ghz 4, 268mb RAM, and a "3D onboard graphics card"....that runs at all settings on low, lowest resolution, if i'm lucky it does 20fps or something single player....
