He's not the only one. Amazingly there are a lot of people still using patch U and asking me / posting in the forum why they cannot unlock / don't see many players online.

I think the crowds are several 3d objects in the track file, so it's not possible to edit them, unlike e.g. GPx where they were placed dynamically depending on the session type (training or race).

There are several unfinished and probably scrapped tracks that I know of:

- Miami Vice (it's NOT South City!)
- Docklands (take a look at the skyscrapers, if you know the real Docklands in London!)
- Bluemountain (yes, the mountain does indeed look blue)
- An unamed stunt track (STUNTS anynone?)

That track was called Miami Vice and it's not South City nor Docklands. I don't know what happened to them, they probably got scrapped like Bob said.

It's not your speakers that are clipping, read here:
Quote from Wikipedia :In digital signal processing, clipping occurs when the signal is restricted by the range of a chosen representation. For example in a system using 16-bit signed integers, 32767 is the largest positive value that can be represented, and if during processing the amplitude of the signal is doubled, sample values of 32000 should become 64000, but instead they are truncated to the maximum, 32767. Clipping is preferable to the alternative in digital systems — wrapping — which occurs if the digital hardware is allowed to "overflow", ignoring the most significant bits of the magnitude, and sometimes even the sign of the sample value, resulting in terrible modification of the signal.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C ... audio%29#Digital_clipping

To solve this, you have to lower the engine sound in LFS so it's in the (digital) range and increase the volume of your (analogue) speakers.

Wow, that track marshal was extremely lucky. Could have been smashed by that car as well. That's probably the reason why they usually need to get an ok from race control to go onto the track in F1.

A classic race on a wet/damp track: Monaco 96

And some more wet races at Spa

Nurembergring - Nürburgring
[This track isn't located in Nuremberg, but around the Nürburg castle. There is a temporary city track in Nuremberg, but this one is called Norisring.]

People are just underestimating how slippery ice really is, it happens in Germany as well. The last time we had ice here (so called "Blitzeis" ) I could watch a car sliding right into the hedge in front of our house. Some years earlier the same thing happened just one street further down the hill.

It's the same like with the storm we had two days ago. People still go outside and drive their cars and some of them get hurt/killed (6 kills just in Germany) by driving full speed into a tree on the road. Why can't people just stay inside when there are dangerous conditions? illepall

Quote from Aquilifer :In my opinion '90s music sucked mostly. There are few exceptions which are ok or even good. Here I list few of them...

Ok, now we are getting to the real classics.

What about some different style of music?

Quote from marzman :I'm surprised there is only one American replying. I'm interested in their point of view. I allready know a lot of other people think bush is a morron.

Well, just listen to Green Day (mp3 posted above) or read their lyrics:

Imo the slogan isn't about bashing EA or the Need for Speed games in particular, it's more making fun of all that Fast & Furious Underground ricer stuff. Bashing those games/players using their language makes the slogan a bit ironic as well, not to be taken too serious.

I wouldn't buy a shirt with something like "EA sucks" on it, but "NFSU? STFU" is just a funny slogan, nothing more.

P.s. Actually I did play Need for Speed (1 - 3) a lot as well as other EA games (Zany Golf , Black & White, GTR, Sim City, ...).

Take a look at Rag Doll Kung Fu:
http://www.ragdollkungfu.com/

The programmer Mark Healey worked together with Scawen and Eric on Black & White and is credited as "early contributor" in LFS as well. Just like LFS, Rag Doll Kung Fu started as a hobby project, turned into something serious later on and you can only buy it as a download.

Why do you ask "why", when you write the explanation in the next line? Instead of posting here, try to contact the STCC admins and tell them the story.

Yes, maybe it's indeed faulty or overheating memory. With my new Radeon X1800 mobile (128 MB as well) I didn't get any problems yet.

Overheating memory could make sense as the problem seems to occur more frequently with high-res textures. More textures -> more load on the memory -> more heat. Sounds logical to me.
