I found it difficult to tell what the dif was doing (out of turn one, in particular); the fidelity was lacking and although I have the two mixed quite well, it felt like I was handicapping myself by muffling the important bits.
You seemed to suggest that sound, whether you have CSR running or not, plays little part in driving quickly.
bearing in mind I'm referring to feeling the limit, not navigation 



My main gripe (i could live with/work around the pedals) was the wheel itself losing calibration when it was turned quickly, it made counter-steering nearly impossible. I thought about selling it, but this is much more gratifying.
I'm very much an open-wheel driver, too. I SLASHED my pb at BLGP w/FOX last night by a whopping *cough* .03!
... a 1:07.78 (with a draft). That's using the sequential paddles.
This is my third wheel (Thrustmaster Ferrari, Logi Momo) and it blows me away how good and smooth it is - I'm breaking PBs all over the place, and I'm finding I have a lot more confidence in the open wheelers, particularly the FO8:lovies3d:
