yeah, i had the .com on the end, just too lazy to complete the url.
It cost me more typing in the long run.
I'm getting the login prompt, but user/password incorrect error when i try to log in. That coupled with the website still not working and i think there is more wrong with my account, hence PMing more details to Dean.

Just to check is the outstanding issues affecting the name servers?
I cant get onto the 500servers website or my website, the DNS isnt resolving to an IP

EA are in the market of producing shallow console games and then porting them to PC.
there isn't a mass market for real driving simulators, unlike the market for arcade sh*te like the NFS series.

Did virgin Provide a Cable modem; Coax cable in, ethernet cable out? if so, turn it of for a minute a turn it back on.
Or does the ethernet cable plug into the back of the TV decoder box? again turn it off for a minute and turn it back on.
These boxes often "throw a wobbler" and rebooting them can stop them missbehaving.

Just wanted to point out it wasnt a simple "ban by MAC" option. It would involve client probing as the IP connection wouldnt hold the client MAC.
It can be done, and it would be more effictive than banning by IP as virtually all ISP use dynamic pools so reseting the router gives you a new IP and effectively unbans you (if ISPs were forced by IANA to use persistent leases, i.e 28 days, then an IP ban would last 28 days and stop morons who thrive on wrecking on multiple demo accounts). Whether Scawen wants to, or has time to implement it is another matter.

When a PC is behind a router the MAC address isn't visible as the MAC address is part of the Layer2 operation and IP operates at Layer3.

If LFS bans on MAC address it would be banning the router attached to the server as the MAC of all IP connections to the server would have the MAC address of the local router. Thats how IP routing works, the Layer3 data is encapsulated inside layer2 ethernet frames, so routers are stripping and re-encapsulating the Layer2 frames at every hop.

Other Games do it, but most would use Punkbuster. LFS would have to interogate the PC hardware to create a hardware signature which could be based on MAC address, HDD serial number, CPU ID etc (like how punkbuster does it). It is possible, but I think that the DEV team have higher priorities and if they wanted to do something like that it would be easier to license Punkbuster, but that would involve what imagine are large fees.

Only GPS based speedos can do that. There is no idler wheel touching the road from the middle of the car to measure the vehicle speed and there is definately no optical measuring device watching how much tarmac travels under your car.
The speedo measures (as previously mentioned) transmission speed(prop shaft, differential) or in some cases wheel speed. (To be more precise it measures the angular velocity). As the transmission is directly connected to the wheels it is measuring wheel speed.
Why do you think the speedo must be adjusted if you put bigger wheels on your car?

not sure if anyones already posted this, ACTUAL gameplay footage that lets you see things for more than 3 seconds at a time.
The graphics look tasty and hopefully it puts BF back where it should be.

Which bodnar box do you have?
The one I have (G25/DFP Adapter) allows me to hook my pedals up through the bodnar adapter and circumvent the wheel completly.
Unless the pedals are plugged in it doesnt show up at all.
They do show up as a completely seperate controller.
I'm not sure about how it works with a load cell, I imagine that is a different adapter but the principle is probably the same.
Do the pedals show up in windows control panel, if windows cant see them, then LFS wont.

Hey Guys, I don't know of it is just me, but the LFSWorld website doesn't seem to be working properly this evening. If it does load up, I get LFSW page-load timout messages, and if it loads up without a timeout double clicking the icons doesnt work. It was working ok earlier today. I have rebooted the PC and even tried on my other PC, but there still seems to be something wrong. These forums also seem to be running very slowly aswell. Can anyone else confirm that I'm not crazy and there is something wrong. Cheers G
