yep, that happens when you have the wrong opponents, or slow ones. but that is the same on every track if there is only really one guy competing with you...
we had a x-mas event "FM vs. STCC" with TBO class which was actually very interesting. but yep, if you drive against yourself for 150 laps its just boring, but that is with every track. thats also the reason why i don't understand hotlapping at all...
the oval is a track like every other track in lfs. if you practice it alot you are fast, if you don't you are slow compared to the top drivers. the only thing is, if you are good at one circuit track, it won't take much time to tune into another circuit track and be fast there but you won't be near the top on oval. not because you drive slow laptimes, but because its just a different kind of racing.
the same with drifters, rally-track drivers, drag-racers, bangers, autoXers
its all a different kind of racing which has to be learned to be good at it. and that oval-flaming is just stupid. its like someone who likes donuts saying: "oh that damn pancakes, why do people actually like them".
it's a racing sim which offers a broad variety of racing, it even provides facilities of NOT racing like CLC, which has actually nothing to do with racing at all...
you are right with that sarcasm, the track isn't the problem. (allthough if you just stay at the fm oval for 15min when its full you will see how difficult the track is for A LOT of people, who didn't get to manage 2 turns, or spin out right at the start, but most of them are noobs...)
thats the difference you only get to know when you race on the oval, the track is secondary, it's more about interaction with the other drivers... sure, you have to learn the racing line, but that line is useless if there are two drafters behind you. you can drive the best line in the world, and they will catch you in a few laps just because they race together. which is actually not possible on any other track. but explaining that to someone who does not race the oval is like explaining the color "pink" to a blind.
hmm one of the best strechting you can do is sitting on your chair and then strech your arms right into the air and making you as tall as possible without standing up.... that's sometimes quite a relieve
i think banging and wrecking are only different if you are not on a banger-track/server. so on a fig8 or banger-oval it is allowed to aim for your oponents with no reason... thats what the whole thing is about in a banger-race. people who avoid crashes on a banger races are pussies and hotlapers...
we even called people out as "main target for next race" if people won 2 races in a row on our banger server...
banger racing is more or less fun, so it is nothing for hotlaping or being faster, it's just beating the shit out of the other cars and still be able to finish the race at highest position as possible
why don't you just install GIMP on the windows-boot? i know it is not the same like photoshop (proud cs2 owner *g*) but at least you can work in one environment...
i could setup a small news-gathering website, where actual leagues can upload/write their news into a RSS feed, someone has then turn this information into articles... it's actually in php and i can give each contributor of news an own account to write those articles and stuff. it is integrated in a cms i use, so no big deal i think... and hope
what do you think? i hope rss does not make that much traffic...
but what about the lfs-news guys. i think they already run the facilities we need, don't they?
i think you have to make them as Axes somewhere in LFS settings, not as buttons. i don't use the seperated pedals at the moment for my MSSWFF (i know i should but i am still to lazy to reconfiguring myself for that...)
anyway i had it installed some times ago in patch U or something and it worked then...
next time if you get anoyed by someone just vote for kick. that is what it's for. if others experience the same problem with him, they will join your vote.
the problem is: illustrator creates vektor files. you can scale those files to any kind of size without loosing quality. gimp instead is a pixel-art program. i have illustrator, you can tell me which files do you want, and i may find time to convert them for you, so you can use them in gimp.
ah and i need the resolution as well. cheers
the other option is, just klick on the preview pictures with right klick and save them with save as.... you could use these in gimp. if they are only for car-skins i think the quality is more then sufficient....
i don't understand why people always shout: "NOOOO we don't need more configs". i mean, what is the problem with that? if you don't like a combo then don't drive it. to reprogram a tracklayout is not that much work compared to a new track. so i think it can be easyly achieved. so bugger of you guys who think there is no need for new content. it's like having 4 kg of dough and making only a 1kg cake out of it and then keep the rest of the dough and say: "NO I DONT WANT SOME DONUTS made out of the rest of the dough"...
sorry thats bullshit, i get that bug as well when switching between windowed mode to full screen mode. (which i need for noobTV or companion)
and it has nothing todo with resolution, i've tried it on an external monitor as well (because i am running lfs on a laptop) and got the same problems...
maybe it's a grafix card issue, but i have a nVidia gForceFX Go5200 which is a pretty good laptop grafic card usally in multimedia laptops... and i don't get black screens in any other application...
my res is 1280x800 and i also tried it with external monitor: 1280x1024... no difference
