well, if we had this argument in german, i am sure i would have used better words to describe what i meant. but unfortunately i have to use a language in this forum i am not used to use . no one who really likes the lfs demo will stick to it forever. some racers will race the demo longer than others but after some months everyone will buy the full version. no one would benefit from any restrictions. it takes a while for many racers to really get into lfs and if they knew from the beginning that they only have 30 days to play the demo, many would just not try it out. and as i said.....i am sure that the devs have thought a lot about this and imho it works.

it's no rocket science. some racers just need a little longer than others to be convinced to buy a license. if someone really likes to race and has the money he WILL buy a license. you cannot honestly think, that an active racer with enough money will stick to the demo because he is satisfied with blackwood and the 3 cars. i am sure the devs have thought a lot about this. this marketing strategy is imho very effective AND very sympathic. this unrestricted demo IS LFS.

no, honestly. i don't get it. by restricting the the demo content you won't get more players on the s2 servers either (i already said that, maybe you just ignored it....but welll).

it's no improvement for the s2 licensed racers and definately none for the demo guys.

let the demo racers have their fun, why are s2 licensed racers even bothered by that?

there is no harm, if a demo racer decides to play the demo for years. more racers attract even more racers to demo servers, who are potential s2 buyers.

well i played the recent sega rally part.....and it's soooo bad, i wouldnt expect very much !

if you are aware of your own capablilies you can go online right away!

start from the end of the grid and try to stay out of trouble. begin with the slower cars first.

if you are really slow, watch the minimap. you don't want to ruin the race of the main field which may overtake you.

the earlier you try to race online, the better for you.

i think the content of the demo is perfect. especially for racers who weren't in simulations before lfs. it's a very nice start for these ppl.

i am sure that every racer, who really likes lfs and can afford it, will buy the licenses.

about that blackwood incident:

i won't do the direction change _after_ the other driver pulls out to overtake you.

after a turn it's quiet easy to determine if the following driver gets slipstream. your move is imho very good driving as long as you pull it off early enough. you can bring yourself into the defending position quiet early. the other driver can decide to attack you on the left (which will be very difficult) or try to attack on the right (he's got to have some skills to pull that off though, most drivers have terrible problems braking from the right into a right hander).

when the other driver is on the left or right of you. you shouldn't do any of these moves.

some guys here seem to confuse hotlapping with "gentlemen"-driving, don't listen to them.

if the guy behind you is faster, first he has to get past you. don't let him! but stay fair and be aware what you are capable of. you don't want to cause havoc while pulling some risky maneuvers.


in the 2nd situation you explained, your move was plain unfair.

yep i think 5lap and 10 lap servers are tyical (depends a lot on the length of the track) approx. 15-30 minutes

i don't get why it would be unrealistic if the fxo was as heavy as the xrt.

ok i agree, it's easier to drive fast in a faster car

before the patch some leagues had the fxo put a passenger into the car and they were still faster. i think it's obvious that 8kg won't do the magic.

extra weights with a server option to force them onto cartypes would be a great addition and imho the solution for this problem.

@danowat: WR holders have no problem at all with the handling of the cars. they are faster with the fxo simply because the car IS faster, not because there is no one who can handle the xrt properly.

it's easier to drive AND it's faster. it would just be nice, if the cars paces are a little more even.
now the fxo is faster on every tarmac-track. it would be nice if there were some tracks where it is slower than it's competitors. just some tracks.

i don't have to explain, why i think that a more balanced class is better, or do i?

thanks for the new version.

i have made a cam-file for kyoto gp long and i hope that it will be used at the 24h race.

it's not very spectacular, i tried to simulate the way tv-stations broadcast such events. long relaxed shots with a good overview(when using the 2-car method, great feature). i think at some point of a 24h race you don't need that hectic shots victor used .
victor has 31 cameras for this track, i use 17. i think thats the main point of this file.

unfortunately many great positions for cameras are not possible because of the grey areas squares lfs produces when shooting from "weird" positions. but i think thats a lfs problem.


improvement suggestion:
the zoom feature works very nicely, but i would like to have a little more control over the fov. some kind of multiplier i can set or some limits to force the camera not zoom that much. i need zooming for these long camera shots, but now the cameras zoom a little to much for my needs.

...no problem at all. a rallycross track like every other track has it's boundaries and you are supposed to drive within these boundaries. in rallycross the same rules apply like in on tarmac racing. just because the track is not entirely made of tarmac, it doesn't mean you can drive where you want.

...and for the online racers....YES, you have to race clean on rallycross tracks too.


edit: does a driver in a tarmacrace get a penalty if he accidentally goes offtrack? i didn't knew that.

it would be nice to have extra weights implemented. i am sure we ( the community) would balance the cars very quickly.

it has to be a server setting that forces certain weights on the different cartypes.

don't forget, as well as living in a german speaking country, you also have to be the fastest with that bf1 :P.

it isn't THAT easy to win it .
