There's no need to spam the forum.
This is the third thread you have started about getting a license within a couple of days.
I have tried to help you on how to buy it (and you obviously have the money).
At least in Sweden, people seem to be buying most "gadgety"-type things online nowadays, what is the problem?
Either use PayPal or make a transfer to someone else's bank account (or pay him/her cash) and let him/her buy LFS for you.
There is no such answer to give.
It depends on the car, which tire-model, who's driving and how the setup looks like (including how much fuel you have).
You will probably get reasonable answers to your questions if you press F9 while driving and having a look.
No, filter would not be welcome (for me) because there's issues with that and risks people to take things to the next level which makes things worse.
It would be welcome (for me) if the server-owners didn't allow profanity, however.
But again, it's probably up to them. What they teach children is their responsibility, I guess.
As I already said... If there are idiots using such cheats, they are easily spotted and banned for such obvious things. There are better ways to control cheating than comparing to arbitrary times (what happens when the WRs are reset?).
Those betters ways are quite involved though and has to do with the implementation of the game - to which few of us probably have too little insight on to comment.
The "best" way I can think of is of course that the recording can be replayed accurately on a non-modded LFS, and if the car refuses to stay on track and/or the time doesn't match that of the claimed time, then it's invalid.
But I can't request that, because I don't know how the game currently works (if it's possible to make that change).
Unfortunately, even then, I know a way to get around that (for hotlaps, at least).
It's not "better" if it causes additional problems:
1. Messages that should not get filtered out get filtered out.
2. A lot of people seem to think it's fun to type colorful [literally each letter in different color] messages. A filter like that will start them to change their penis-words into p3ni5es, or fantastic ASCII-art of the type "3===o" I(your length may vary).
There is a very simple way of fixing this problem. Kick/Ban people from the server if they communicate like animals.
Compare to WR like how? It's not allowed to be faster than the "original" WR? It's not allowed to be close to a WR? Is it really the "best" way?
Obviously the best cheats are such that are "subtle" and believable.
If it only takes care of clear cheats, then it won't do much and may give a false sense of "security" against cheaters? I don't know...
You got what you paid for. They gave you what you intentionally bought. So I guess "Give" was a valid phrasing, as it was from the Devs' point of view.
Hopefully you've done more during these 10 years than rolling your thumbs?
Hmm, this is the reason why the Developers should be creating threads and posts like this, raving about their work obviously going down the drain.
I'm amazed why other people are so bothered.
I guess it's a sign of maturity to ignore the profanity of more immature people and try to steer their conversation into what actually matters. People are also showing great patience and are merely observing the person digging his own hole until the ban comes.
It's up to the moderators to decide, not us.
Even immature people and people with attitude issues are allowed to be given a proper chance.
Yep, many people have experienced that. It's not a big issue though. If the guy doesn't want to be a part of the community, he doesn't have to. No one has to reply to him either.
Have you ever wondered why everyone around you are uneducated kids and/or trolls?
Also, the trolls and uneducated kids are actually quite nice towards each other. Yet, there always seems to be a problem between you and everyone else.
Have you wondered why it is not only this forum, but pretty much anywhere where you interact with other people [online] ?
You will probably answer "spam off kid", but you'll know what I'm talking about. Think about it.
This troll is now ignoring you. Just like you want everyone to ignore you (even though you are on a forum). Strange.
Oh, and to remove some of the drama:
If people would be having problems with sagepay.com recently, we would have seen a massive rage here on the forums.
So, you'll be fine whichever way you go forward. I'd suggest PayPal, though.
I was going to just tell you "don't worry, go for it", and looked up "sagepay.com" quickly to give you more comfort, and found this: Review of Sagepay
First of all, what I can say is that you can trust the LFS-people so that you'll actually get what you pay for. You don't have to worry about that part.
Second, most of the negative comments on sagepay.com on that site above deals with problems that are related to using sageplay.com as a payment method on a site and the services around that, i.e. on LFS's side in this case, not yours.
Third, even though I think you'll be just fine, I can with greater confidence say that if you use PayPal (which is an option) you (or your mom) don't have to worry about a thing. Thousands and thousands of payments are being made through PayPal every day globally.
A fourth option is to ask someone you know to buy a voucher for you.
A fifth option is to transfer money to my bank account and I'll buy the voucher for you.
This is the least secure way, as I'm just a random dude.
We're just outsourced cheap spammers paid by the developers. They make a good profit fooling suckers like you.
Seriously, don't wait for S3, it could take way too long. If you want more content, buy S2 now. The longer you wait, the more you lose out on enjoying it.
The game is cheap as it is, and whenever S3 comes out, upgrading costs half of that (I think?).
Also, when it to the deadness of things, I think it's more about that the game has a rather "slim" direction and that it is a small game in general (development & publicity wise).
So, the user base is not massive compared to the big games out there, but the community is stable. Just look at years people are registered and they're still here. They're here because they like it.
There's a handful of good servers where there seems to be action at hours I'm able to play at least, i.e. evenings and weekends (European time).
In real life, not much happens after a race, except running another lap (unless there is a short cut) and parking. Simulating this last lap is a bit pointless at this point, unless the same car is to be used in the next race, which is currently not the case.
So, what is your suggestion what should "happen"?
Well, there are sound effects, (applauds if things went well), in real life, there isn't many sound-effects after a race. What would you suggest happens?
Well, actually you do park the car 'somewhere' afterwards. (See above).
Actually, you told what you think is wrong, but not how it should be improved, hence, you did not give any improvement suggestions either.
And to defend Inouva a bit, he didn't agree with you on your statement that racing doesn't exist (me neither - racing does exist) and helped you how to find servers with proper racing. Why are you dismissing help?
Being in a community/league would obviously be the ultimate thing, but I'm not sure that I have the possibility for such commitment (racing specific hours).
There are probably communities where "drop-in" works too to some extent if there's a number of hardcore players who happen to be racing most of their time? But that would also suggest a rather small group and few opportunities to grand races during random times.
A year ago, I ran Redline a lot, which is a fantastic place as it's open for the masses, but have great admins that clean things up. So, the only problem that exists is what I mentioned, and I strongly believe it can be fixed (or at least, massively reduced) with the proposed system.
Today, I haven't really found any stick-to server, only played for during two occasions during the last week. Also, if time allows, I thought I might give an absolute-beginners.net race a go tomorrow evening (sunday).
But really, I'm after that sensation of seriousness any time I log on to LFS.
It sounds like you have quite a project going on there..
Also, it suggests that what it is I am looking for (or at least, something along those lines) will be tied to servers within a specific community?
I might have to take a look at whether or not I could be bothered to implement what I was asking for myself.
Actually, en ole as ruotsalainen as you seem to suggest, but it goes well with the current streak of not completely accurate phrasings you got going on there.
Nah sorry, I didn't even have an issue with the first thing you said, I just thought, looking at all the comments around yours, that this was the way to discuss things in this thread. :twirl:
If all other trolling was such happy trolling, then things wouldn't be that bad. But maybe some people are born evil?
But... if it was a completely separate context altogether, then you just stated what to do, not how trolls and bears are alike... Which is usually expected when comparing?
Unless you meant "You avoid trolls as you do with bears - by playing dead". But that you did not say.
