So massive England logo on my profile page, in the driver list in game my club is "England", and all of the cars which have a logo which can't be removed have an England logo. I really don't hate the English, but having it plastered everywhere is a step too far. They're ****ing kidding on if they're not going to fix it for another 3 months. And if I'm angry, why are the Irish not going wild?
Also, all Celts (Scottish, Irish, Welsh) have to run about for a full season with an England logo on our cars. Of course I've removed everything I can, but plenty of cars have them printed on anyway. Not a happy bunny. They have got to have the shittest database system ever, they can't change an image mid-season?
TVE, I spend less than £100 a year on iRacing and get a ridiculous amount of use out of it. I spent more than £100 going out 1 night at the weekend, easily. It's not exactly expensive.
Because I own all the road cars, but I'm nowhere near 100% (mainly oval stuff), they just gave me a 25% discount off of everything that now comes out, so less than 10 dollars for a track every 3 months. $75 dollars got me a years subscription. If anything it's been getting cheaper and cheaper over the time I've been using it. It's still not that cheap, but compared to most other hobbys it kinda is. This carry on about $ for repairs is just a made-up thing to use in arguments against it.
Of course, I've spent a small fortune on controllers and computer hardware, but I was spending that same money on LFS a few years ago.
So now I'm in the UK and I club (Not UK&I), but really I have England logo's on my car, my profile and according to the in-game I'm in the England club. I'm sure it'll get sorted, but iRacing got told and told and told that they were going to **** it up, and they didn't listen. At least I can see the funny side. All Celt/UK&I members I've seen posting on the forums are having a good laugh about the situation, and all the Americans start flooding the thread with bullshit, arguments, accusations of bigotry etc. No sense of humour over the water.
"Some people hate the English, I don't, they're just wankers!".
Anyone have any good ideas for a right lovely LMP2 skin for the HPD? I've been running a Ganassi Target scheme that I made for a while but I'm bored of it, I want to paint something that looks brilliant.
I've personally never seen that blueflame. A few times if I'm coming up to lap a GT they will position their car in such a way that I know they don't want me to pass on that particular corner, which is absolutely fine. HPD has enough speed to hang back a little and take them on exit anyway.
I keep hearing about all these issue between GT and HPD but really I've never had any, as far as I know I've never hit a GT in any of my races so I must be doing something right. Always try my best to be as courteous as possible, maybe lose a couple of seconds but so be it.
That particular video is Rich Sobolewski in the Ford GT, he's one of the best I've found, so to put any blame on him for that incident is a joke.
The steering isn't linear? Since when? Mine is set up at 900 and then not touched, has always been absolutely linear for me (at least the virtual wheel has always matched my physical wheel). Is it only when you short calibrate your wheel?
After 7 years my good old G25 shifter has finally died, and it picked a good time to do it. Got back into racing the HPD the last while, out of 12 races this week at Daytona I've won 9, finished 2nd twice and finished stone dead last in the last race of the week. Shifter started acting up in the 2nd lap, buttons started to hit, pit limiter, mute, black boxes flicking until it finally hit the ignition button and I was out. Hit my fastest lap time of the week also while a lap down after towing (and ripping out the shifter cable) and managed to unlap myself on the very last corner of the race, so it was still fun.
G25 pedals are still going strong though, still used every day after 7 years just with regular cleaning, and the wheel still works perfectly, though it has been in a cupboard for a couple of years. I bet my Fanatec GT3 won't be working in 7 years.
So, what's the best shifter? Thrustmaster TH8 or wait for the new Fanatec? I will really miss the buttons on the G25 shifter though, so used to them. So far I've found out that on the US Logitech site you can buy replacement shifters on their own, have sent a message to Logitech UK, they're usually really good.
If Webber leaves mid-season he's a hypocrite crying bitch. Sure he got shafted yesterday, but it's not like he's not ignored team orders before, it just so happens he wasn't good enough to make it stick.
What Vettel did was basically out of order, etc. But, Webber has absolutely no right to be as much of a bitch as he's being, seems like he conveniently forgot about Silverstone 2011.
On the Virgin forums there's a sticky at the top talking about how Bristol is well over-utilised, which will explain the lag. It's the jitter that's doing it.
Thanks man, sounds good to me. I've been reading a lot about the over-utilisation on Virgin but my area doesn't have that problem at all, so it should be nice and stable. Sky BB is so shit that I'm even pinging 70+ to the Dutch servers.
Anyone on Virgin? What's the ping like? Just signed up for the 30 meg package. Was getting sick of 6 meg SkyBB anyway, and they have now disabled all gaming profiles, leaving my ping back up around 180, unplayable. Kept sky for tv and phone, believe me this is the cheapest and best way.
I'm not entirely sure anyone gives a ****, but why not post. Fixed the skin, added in logo's that were missing etc, and re-uploaded. If you want it, grab it: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?ybn8ccyrvab0evl . If you don't know how to put your own name on the Windscreen, just let me know.
Painted a red one for myself, I like it. Of course, if anyone wants it they can have it. I have to give them credit for this car, it's gorgeous.
Can someone do me a favour and post this in the iracing forums 'Showroom'. Haven't had forum posting privileges for a looong time, but I still like to skin cars and share them with the public, so if someone could post this up that would be great. (Put it under Dezza Murray, my iracing name).
So, how did everyone's 500 go, or was I the only one crazy enough to sit up this late? Finished 4th eventually, managed to find the only other british guy in the server and stuck with him for the full race, had a belter. Split 4 overall, good SOF of 3500. Happy with a top 5.
Really, the best thing I can say about this is that it feels better than LFS (I still think iRacing feels nowhere as good as LFS) and it looks brilliant at 100fps (pretty medium settings, Q6600 and GTX 460, not exactly high-end). I basically can't believe this is going to have a Lotus 49 and 98T, with a scratch made Nordschleife.
The whole point of this Tech Preview was to test the licensing system. Stop being an entitled child. What kind of self-respecting sim racer doesn't have a copy of NKP anyway?
Hahmo, I'm sorry it's not working at the moment but this is the whole point of the tech preview, testing the licensing system and bug reporting. Tell Kunos it's not working, not us.
It actually mentions somewhere that without a key the game will load but input won't be accepted. Didn't NKP do basically the same thing? Not worth driving it with the Keyboard anyway.
Tweaked the feeling with my Fanatec GT3, have settled on an FFB gain setting of about 65%, this gives me a really nice light, fast, but informative feeling through the wheel. Fantastic feeling of weight transfer that I've never felt in a sim before. This is the first thing I've driven since LFS which has sucha natural feeling and lets me drive purely by feel, catching slides feels like second nature, rather than iRacing where I basically need to guess when it's going to slide and catch it first.
Any of you sim-racers, stump up the €5 and support Kunos, and you won't regret it. We're all still LFS fans purely because of the driving feel. This is a natural successor, purely going on feel for me.
