In the replay, you can see if they moved their head or not, but when viewing replay from cockpit view you have dynamic control over it so you cannot "see" when they do it..
If you are watching a replay and go into a car that is near another car, and look left (just to be able to see the other car)- you can see the guy in the car next to you looking at you if he did in the race.
Basically what I am saying is that the replay does record head movements- you just can't tell when viewing form cockpit view.. Maybe an option in the replay to "bind head movement to replay data" or something like that would work?
Yes and also if LFS supported this, it might be able to be more efficient with the AA and AF and allow for better performance with these enabled in game, rather than forcing with the driver CP..
I hated it.. the physics really make me appreciate LFS- even with the "bugs"
The force feedback is a total joke in GTL.. I use a DFP in 540 degree mode and GTL FF just absolutely sucks IMO.. so fake and inaccurate.
GTL would not save any of my button settings- stuck shifting with square and x buttons. Hard to get it to save my pedal config too- I eventually got the brake pedal to work though somehow.
Maybe it has shiny DX9 track shaders and whatnot, but I still think LFS gfx are better- something very fake about the cars in GTL.
I just hope rF is much better in the FF and physics department. I just bought an X800XL- (should get it next week) - rF should run pretty good on that and in LFS I can crank the AA and AF up quite a bit more than I do now... 2xAA and 4xAF with a 9700pro @ 1200 x 900 runs good and looks good now, but 6xAA and 16xAF will look even better.
Overall GTL demo is a huge disappointment. Long live LFS- and it's far superior FF and physics.
"Looks" like the center of gravity is above the car somewhere.
Either that or the down-force is creating unrealistically high levels of lateral grip? Maybe to compensate for low mechanical grip? Strange indeed.
Hmm, I went to check my Java settings in the java console- but my java was messed up! I updated it just a while ago- so I don't know what the heck happened. Anyway I reinstalled it and all is fine. I will re-test and report back.
EDIT- maybe that is what was wrong with the other problem I posted about the forum locking up on me.. If java has anything to do with that problem maybe it will fix that too.
For the hell of it I downloaded netKar to see what it was like.
The Mini is very realistic for a front drive car. It handles exactly like all the sporty front drive cars I have ever driven in RL.. I had a relatively powerful one with stiff suspension too- the kind that rattle your teeth over road bumps..
Anyway, not comparing game to game here.. just that car in that game and the way the back and front end are very balanced and predictable. Especially the way the rear end will start to slide, and then if you counter steer and let off a little, it tucks back in and regains grip. Just like my VW Gold Wolfsburg, Honda Prelude, and Dodge Charger Shelby 2.2L Turbo (the fast stiffly sprung car) did.
Just an observation I thought worth posting in case anyone wanted to try it-- hey, it's free, why not.
Just a hunch but many of those celeron boards only take low density memory. What model mobo is it? Can you list the number on it? And the brand name? Also list the memory you bought, and links to where you bought it. Maybe it is incompatible, and you can return it and get the right memory. It may not be the problem, but it may be.
Also maybe we can help you get the board to accept the memory if it is the correct kind.. I have a few things you can try, I have built at least 20 PC's over the past few years.. and ran into all kinds of things like that.
Ok cool.. thx.. -yeah I figured it could be tuned out.. Even though your previous sets were way more forgiving than default, once it stepped out, it was gone.
One thing to note about all of this.. I raced about 100 races today (it seemed like) with the FOX, and when the aero model takes hold at higher speed- it feels so much better.. At low speed it is still very touchy. it just seems like the mechanical grip is too low or something.. and doesn't go from "grip" - to "lack of grip" - back to "grip" again like it should.
Best example I can think of.. Get in a RWD car and take a sharp slow speed turn, and give it too much gas to break the rear wheels loose just a little, the instantly let off the throttle. The tail end will instantly stick again, and grab the small slide you initiated. I am talking under 30 MPH here.. In LFS if you do the same, the force indicators go red and you will have a weird long slow speed slide that ends when you are sideways or almost backwards. Then at about 7MPH or so it grabs again, the indicators go green. But at such low speeds, you shouldn't have a long slow slide like that on tarmac, especially with good soft sport tires.
I was experimenting a lot in the test area with the force view on the other day.. Some strange things happen. Skids at 8MPH and whatnot..
I guess I will have to make some replays and pinpoint exactly what I mean.
The good thing is, everyone has the same disadvantage, so online racing is still very fun.
