Quote from Crystal141192 :Would prefer the work being put into tyre physics etc. than a new forum.

Yeah because Victor would otherwise spend his time on programming the tyre physics.

Is it finished already? Looks like it's in some kind of alpha stage. Why isn't even adaptive, we live in 2014 nowadays.

Quote from mrbogeyman :Finally got it and built it up about a couple of weeks ago.

Scary light and scary fast. Very easy to blast the downhills. I think I need to invest in some pads before I hit a tree at warp speed.

Cool bike. I'm picking up my first MTB tomorrow hopefully. What does that bike weigh?

Got myself a MTB. Always wanted to try it, and with some great tracks near me I just had to buy an awesome bike. Will be eating water and bread for a while, but I think it'll be worth it.

It's a Focus Black Forest 4.0 2015 model. Brand spanking new, and it rides like a dream!

1nsane is also fun. Played that a lot back in the days.

Spintires is epic.

You can also try BeamNG and Rigs of Rods. They're no off-road games, but you can have a lot of fun off the roads with plenty of mods.

Quote from Zlicek :Wut?? if i uncheck the "Combined pedals" it will brake when i let the gas go.

You will have to re-assign the throttle and brake and recalibrate them. The brake and throttle are now 'one', which means you can't press the throttle and brake together.
USB over IP

Hi guys,

I have to run a certain USB device on a Linux machine because the drivers don't work for Windows 8.1. I've got a Raspberry Pi laying around that I could use, but the Raspberry is a little to slow for the software that I need.

So I was planning to use my i5 HTPC and create a VM in Hyper-v to run Linux on it. Only problem is that Hyper-v isn't able to pass-through an USB device?

I've looked around for some USB over IP programs, but most of them cost a shitload of money, or don't work in the direction I want it to. I need a Windows host, and a client that can be installed on Linux. This program for instance only has a Linux host.

Anyone an idea of software, or maybe an other solution?

Oh, and it's not possible to run Virtualbox or Vmware, because it's not compatible with Hyper-V.

A modern system can easily idle below 20W so that's not really a problem. But yeah, having it on if you don't use it is still not smart.

Anyway, a 120GB SSD is cheap right now, so it's a no-brainer IMO.

Hmm not sure, it does sound familiar. Can't find the clip that I meant with it though.

No sorry, the other way around.

I recall a video (I believe the footage I posted), but with a dnb. I believe it was something from Concord Dawn or Pendulum, but I'm not sure.

I'm looking for a clip... I believe it was Man for all seasons the song. It was a BMW M5 clip from another movie I believe. I recall the song was a mashup or something. Perhaps you guys know what I'm talking about. I can't believe I can't come up with it.

edit: Isn't this the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrLYQnjzH7w ?

Have you ever used a SSD? I don't ever want to go back to a HDD for my OS. Even compared to my Samsung Spinpoint F3's in Raid it's a lot faster.

Oh, and lets not forget the noise that HDD's make after a few years. My 4 F3's make my PC sound like it wants to take off.

Yeah, the game is pretty boring compared to RoR. Sure, it has nicer graphics, but there's not much to do. Some of the recent RoR mods are very high quality and are pretty much like cars in BeamNG now.

The big difference is that RoR has everything as in trucks, boats, planes, helicopters, loads to put on truck, and what not. There are uncountable amounts of different things you can do with RoR right now. The whole system of BeamNG just feels wrong. I don't think BeamNG will ever be the true sandbox game that RoR is. Just alone the amount of F-keys that were so simple to use in RoR to move things on trucks for example. BeamNG still doesn't even have a simple truck, let alone a trailer... Oh, and let's not forget the fact that all cars have the same sound.

Typing this actually makes me want to go back to RoR and lift random things with tiny trucks that want to flip over or something...

First try to change the boot order. If that doesn't work proceed:

Are you able to try to hook that drive to an other PC to see if it still works? I assume there's no Windows installed on it yet? In that case I would just install Windows over it if it still works. I would try a SMART test on the drive first to see if it's not damaged.

On the other side, just get a SSD for the OS and a cheap 1TB HDD for storage to be sure it won't die on you (you never know). Especially because storage isn't that expensive nowadays.

Quote from MAGGOT :One thing that would help bring me back in, aside from fixing the abysmal physics, is a menu for controller setup. Has that been done yet?

Not yet, but they have made great steps with the UI. The UI is a little like AC where you can install new UI modules and move them around the screen. I guess an option for the controllers wouldn't be a big step from here.

It's funny actually, because with regular driving I don't really feel that the wheels are polygonal. Sure, I only use the Xbox controller, but it's not that bad. Sometimes the cars tend to wobble around corners for no reason though.

Quote from dfgjkl :the entire west get all the information received from the Ukrainian informants.and like you said you no trust them either.:twirl:

Your point being? I think he meant to say that everyone over there can't be trusted and are essentially scumbags... Or that's just what I think.

Quote from Madman_CZ :How you get the code?

He said he got it via his email in the post you quoted.

It's also on their website explained. If you're logged in you can find it here: http://www.beamng.com/service/latestorder
