Like i said before, one of the main reasons i have some extra money. You crash a BMW in a tree pretty bad, and your chances of survival are likely higher then a 99 Fiesta. I know its alot for a first car, and i was not too keen on telling people my budget being afraid of what people would say. On my side:

I have been looking at the Cortinas. Thinking, if i was to get one, maybe get a whole new engine along the lines of a ..cosworth? and new gearbox. Fix up the seats and steering + handling. Im sure all that would be, 22,000AUD, But then again, i wont have 22,000 if i go for an old car, the money is there for help, if i get a new car.


Then there was the ute i have been looking at, or "Yewt" .
This is exactly 40,000AUD. Very nice car and all, i have sat in it and its very good on the inside, i am yet to drive it though.



Mine will be a v6, not v8, so its that, minus the hood thing that pops up.

With that sort of budget, safety should not be an issue at all! You can easily have a modern standard size car with the majority of safety features inclusive. Most cars in that budget will be aimed at families & young professionals, so safety is a high priority for most.

For a first timer though, I would recommend a run-of-the-mill car with no bells or whistles. Something along the lines of a relatively new Ford Focus has good safety standard, powerful (enough) without being silly and a little bit of fun to drive.

Yes, quite expensive. Its not like im going to hit 40,000. I really dont even want to.

I have some money saved over the years and my mum is willing to help out a bit, sort of as well i finish school in October, I am 18 then etc.

But the main reason was she recently got into a bad accident (well, few years back) because someone ran a red light and t-boned her car door at fast speed. My mum, 1 year old niece and sister was in the car and the car went flying on to the footpath 10 meters + down the road. She was driving a BMW. She was meant to drive my OLDER sisters used old Toyota Camery that night, and the three of them would have been dead by now..

Anyways, that's besides the point, i thought i would just clean that up if people where wondering WTF first car.

And yes, there is loads to choose from and in the end, i might only be spending a few thousand. That's why i came here for opinions and suggestions on cars that i can research and look up.

In the next month (well, October) i will be getting my own car. I just wanted to see if the community here could give me some opinions and suggestions on what car would be good to get. Clearly no one could tell me that without knowing my interests so il list down what i am kind of after with a car.

Firstly. My mum spoke with me and she would much rather me having a safer car when it comes to accidents. She doesnt want me in a 1979 ford cortina or anything like that, though i do . She said she will help me out with the car if i get a new car.

Budget wise, new car, absolute maximum $40,000 AUD is everything i will have. [ = 33,000USD. 22,000EURO. 18,000GB Pounds. 3,600,000Yen ]

Thats for a new car. I can look for a new car, or demo used from a dealer. Or i can go for something like i said earlier, a nice cheap cortiva, escort, corolla ke20 etc. and then modify it with a better engine etc.

Something slow may not catch my eye, weather thats stupid or not. I cant help it!

Im thinking of something that doesnt really munch up fuel. Aussie P drivers cant drive turbo, supercharged, v8+. I dont really want a small economical car either like a Yaris (Echo), Swift or something along those lines. Still being a teenager, i do like something that looks nice .

Safety to me isnt much of a concern, though the safer the better i guess.

At the same time, convertibles or cars that will smash my insurance is a no go.

I have been looking at the new Ford Falcon FG Ute. A tray may be needed if i start karting next year and if i cant approve my brothers ute to use on race days (his ute is a v8).

I know it all sounds abit picky, but i must admit, im a very picky guy. I said what i WANT and sounded as if i was demanding these things, but better give guidelines of what im after rather then people suggest and waste their time.

At the same time, im very open. If i see what i like, either its by the guidelines or not, il look twice (if you get what i mean, il be interested).

I appreciate it alot if people where to help me out abit. If people are actually interested in helping out and want more of a idea of what interests me, ill be happy to help out. After all, your taking time to post a comment.

I just recently started to get back into LFS.

Too early or late, i really don't know, and I'm sure half don't really care.

But i thought id make discussion already because i think this is going to be a very interesting round.

You have Kimi who appears to be off form in the last few racers. However, this is as if its his home track. Hes dominated here for years now and it will be a big boost for him if he wins this round. You have Lewis who is the championship leader with a good 6 points and you got Massa who has shown domination in the last few rounds.

I think even though Robert Kubica is a top driver, i think he is completely out of this battle.

Plus i feel this is more of a Ferrari track, longer turns and straights.

More to talk about, of course, but il keep it for more discussion .

Ive been planning on getting a tattoo soon. Just a simple name on my right rear shoulder blade.

Having my mum in hospital recently having a major operation from some certain health related issues really made me think about her passing on in life..
That then triggered me to think if she ever did (of course she wont any time soon ), i would love to have something a long the lines of a tattoo with her name and dates, birth to death.
That then triggered me to think i would like to get my late dads name perhaps on one rear shoulder blade, with my mother on the other later on in life.
That then came to a conclusion that i would like to get my dads name very soon, just finding prices etc.

Thought i would share that. I guess from reading peoples post they would call me stupid, but if this thread is still open in the next few weeks, id show it here if people would like.

I got the one month trail.

I think it was great. The simulation and physics were really really good, close/equal/better then LFS, i cant choose.

But i just did not like the system. Its too RL. LFS is still my number one to play. Quick, Simple and physics wise, realistic. iR just goes a bit too far.
