Hey all!

As I'm not very smart in PC stuff etc., I thought you might help me. Anyway, I have a problem updating to the latest drivers for my video card. I have been doing this before and it has always worked out fine and everything worked, but not this time.
This is the driver I need: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-285.58-whql-driver.html

Basically, it starts the installation, installs all the stuff needed and when it's supposed to finish, it brings up an Error saying that none of the files or drivers have been installed. That everything failed etc. Also asks me to restart PC and try again, which doesn't help anything at all.
Also, the drivers I used before since January up to yesterday started doing the same. I was not able to install the previous drivers back that I used for 10 months without any problems. It also bring same error message etc.

I've read many things on forum about these issues, nothing really helped, I've probably skipped something and might be doing this wrong, although I'm doing it in the same way as always.

Although I was lucky, and for some reason (which I don't know) I still had 3 years old drivers installation on my PC. The best part of this is, that I installed them and it worked, so I can use my PC properly, but I want to update to latest stuff and not use 3 year old drivers.

Maybe someone can help?

Taavi, please post it at LFSforum.net, as the rules ask.

Those drivers who are on the reserve list will have a privilege to race if someone from TOP10 drivers can't participate for some reason. The reserve drivers will be chosen in the same order as they are placed. If the reserve drivers can't make it to the race also, then anyone can race, but you have to inform about that at least 30min before the race. (Remember, in order to do that, you have to prove you can do a lap within 105% of WR.)

I reserve spot as a reserve driver for Thursday.

Also, reminder that today is the qualification day.

So that nobody would have any problems with the server, we decided to change the server for the races. From now on it will be called "Baltic Cup 2012" and it is hosted by Skrajūns Drambliox. Same server we used last season for some of the rounds.

But we will use "Tiger Express Motorsports" server as a reserve server and also for qualifications if needed.

Nope, tire physics haven't changed, we can still have the R2 rule since it gave a bit of challenge.
And yes, there are open configurations we can use.

Most of the leagues are on Saturday and Sunday btw. But there is place to squeeze GT Series in between them on Saturdays for example, since the rounds are like 2 weeks apart. Or then some other day, but Sundays seem to be taken for the rest of the year.

jrd.racer - Nice, finally someone has put at least some effort into the entry. Could be better, but at least better than the others. I would change the wheels though, they are quite low quality and are not fitting properly. But good effort anyway.

I'm sorry to say, but the other ones are quite poor, they are killing photomode competition, but I guess it can never be the same as it used to be, but we could at least have some interesting ideas and entries and not like those.

Obviously, not everyone is good at the start in doing this and I don't blame anyone for that, but it looks like most of you haven't put any effort at all or even tried to look for tutorials for example. You just posted random screen just to be in a competition. It's about improving your skills, you can't improve them if you don't try anything more challenging, new etc. I made this competition longer on purpose, so we could finally get enough and good stuff. Maybe if most of you would take time and work 20min every day on it and post before deadline, we can work it out.

Don't you think it a bit too early to organize an event, even in Europe? I doubt many people will be playing LFS at that time, but whatever. I might sign up later in case I can manage to come to a few rounds.

It was not allowed last year. It was allowed 2 years AGO in one round. When we clearly stated that it is allowed to cut it, which we never said anything about for this season/round.
I told everyone to read rules carefully since there are changes for this season, it's your own fault that you didn't read them. There were quite many changes in rules since the previous seasons so I at least advice them to read now.

Others didn't have problem with understanding it except you and few other guys, so I think you are making fun of yourself.
All admins agreed there must be penalty, I am not making this up, so it won't be changed whatever you say.

It was allowed 2 years ago when we told it before the race. Now it's 2 years later and things have changed! We haven't said anything before this race and in the rules it says "don't cross pit exit line without any exceptions".
I discussed this with other organizers, they agreed we must give penalties.

There is a small advantage. Well, first of all driving between the lines is more complicated and there is a bend which you need to do right. But if you would be allowed to cross pit exit inner line, you could go straight without making any turn and it's far more easier to drive on track and it also gains a bit of time.

Also, if it makes you feel better, any kind of pit exit line crossing is forbidden usually in real life.

And most of the other drivers drove it correctly and had no problem with it, only you and some other guys thought it's allowed to cross it for some reason.

Well, it is possible if you had not turned so early and gave him room. I've seen FXR pass FZR in the same corner from the outside, so I don't think it's much harder to do it from the inside.
Here I really think it was your own fault, K.Gasiunas didn't even manage to do an overtake, the small tap happened before the turn. If you look from your car, you were quite far away from the wall so you could have given him more room knowing that he is there and you also turned quite early. You drove on him by yourself, I don't think it's his fault here, sorry.

Racing incident, from my point of view there shouldn't be any penalty given but I will still discuss this with the rest of the organizers.
