Seems like the Lap1 T2 incident was mostly, if not entirely, my fault. I was way too late on the brakes there and I obviously caused much more mayhem than I thought I did. When racing I was under the impression that I just nudged felplacerad slightly -- seems I was very wrong. I am deeply sorry about that and apologize to everybody I did harm to. Please feel free to file a complaint. Don't know what would come from that, as I was taken out of the race by the Lap4 T2 incident and just got DNF points anyway, but nonetheless ...
Be assured that I'm usually a clean and patient racer and rather give up a position than risking a crash. Sorry once more, it won't happen again (I hope).
I think if you miss the optimum braking point by a margin you shouldn't be looking to turn towards the apex, you should accept a wider line so as not to affect anyone behind you, this way you can brake deep into the corner and coast around the outside before picking up speed again, exactly as felplacerad did in his video. :wizard:
yea i know that the real Auto X are plastic with water but i play Carribbean Cruise and City drive alot. I wanted to make a solid concrete texture but as felplacerad said the red is added in game
BTW:thnx jason for the "artist representation" lol
yea, i can relate to felplacerad, get the throttle stuck if i brake and change down at the same time too. i dont use a G25 i use a DFP with a cheap TM FGT throttle pedal as a clutch.
Most of my friends (originally "TeamCCUK", now "UKCT") came, en masse, to LFS along with me, rather than getting to know them within LFS.
Since then, the UKCT group of friends has expanded courtesy of LFS. As a group of people independently of LFS, my non-LFS friends count among THEIR friends, Becky, Jakg, Dustin Dawes, Chris Raemisch (Viper93), Christofire, Felplacerad, Chris Redman, Dan Ashurst, djgizmo and many others too. Some we've met (Chris Redman and Christofire joined us at a UKCT party) and the others we look forward to meeting in the future. The LFS community has definitely impacted my social group in a very big way!
felplacerad: The chicken went to get pie. Sweet, sweet pie.
IanH: I dont get chickens; ducks are much better.
Danowat: Squirrel, fishcake, lemon, starfish on the pier.
Shaun463:
I think there's a bit of a misconception here. It's not 'slow' drivers per se, that is the issue. It's the totally inept 'drivers'
Believe me nathan, we try to communicate with these guys but it's an uphill struggle. It's hard to know what to do for the best for all of our guests, but OldBloke's suggestion is pretty much on the money.
Parties Involved: Exodus [cmckowen]; FEL [felplacerad]
Incident Description: McKowen makes a move up the inside of FEL through the kink before T2, leaving plenty of space, but loses the car on the bump/kerb. In trying to control the car, McKowen's left-rear wheel taps FEL's right-front and both parties spin. This is a simple racing incident, and cannot be deemed to be careless or malicious.
Penalties Awarded:
C McKowen - No penalty.
FEL - No penalty.
Appeal Deadline: Tuesday, 13th December 2007 - 2359 GMT
Please ensure you make a formal appeal stating facts in this thread. Appeals made outside of this thread cannot be considered. Only parties involved in the incident should be involved in the appeal process.
Parties Involved: D Horvath [horci]; FEL [felplacerad]
Incident Description: In the first incident, FEL tapped the right-rear of Horvath causing both drivers to spin (avoidable). In the second incident, FEL goes to move up the inside of Horvath but slides directly into the side of him, causing an avoidable incident leaving Horvath in the gravel trap.
Penalties Awarded:
FEL - Disqualification - Dangerous driving resulting in an incident on two occasions.
D Horvath - No penalty.

Pretty much the same what I felt when testing (and trying to like) the game, except I'd like to bash the graphics more. You totally forgot the rain effect, thats pretty much the same I saw in TOCA 2 on PlayStation 6 years ago. And the sun glare looks more like a lens flare than anything you would see with your eyes. With decent fps rate the graphics would be 'ok', but when you get 25fps from a year-old average pc (2,5ghz athlon 64, 2gt ram, gf6800 ultra) when it's dark and raining, I don't get it. The game calculates maybe the half of what LFS does in physics, and doesn't look that good, why it has to be so heavy compared to prettier modern games?
Scawen would code the similar lens flare / rain / dynamic lighting effects in under a month by himself, and wouldn't do any worse. BBT's marriadge symbol is a perfect explanation why Scawen won't code bad, unfinished effects, and also an explanation why I play LFS instead of one of those 'sims'. I think that Race driver series is closer to GTR series than GTR is to LFS.
