to racing.
and how come that you are doing so few events this year?
Because I only get 20 days off in total every year. 12 of them went to the USA trip and the rest will be needed for the racing program. So only can do events wich aren't too far and only weekends. Driftcup in Belgium is on thursday so won't drive that one. Just 2 times BDC Lydden Hill and the rest, don't know.... Maybe some practise days but that will be it. Could save some good money with that also.
Not to quote my large image on previous page.. but I persevered with the kitchen cleaner! It turns out I needed to leave the stuff on the painted areas much longer then it came off like dead skin on your feet!

Well Happy!

a junkyard engine? nice
What power does it make? My eye has spotted turbo
I noted/was wondering the same..
Had some adventures with my '87 Lada 2108.

I had some free time, so I decided to clean the engine a bit as it was covered with oil+mud/dust. And I have even found some marking on the engine block under the mud. I used to think that I had a 1300cc engine (documents said that too) but it appeared that I have 1100cc engine.

Ok, I thought. I just want my car to drive me as cheap as possible. But I started digging the documentation about early models of my car and found something weird.

Originally, 1100cc models came with 4-speed gearbox, but I have 5-speed one Ok, they both fit, so it is possible.

But that answer started another question: 4-speed gearbox originally came with 4.11 final drive, 5-speed gearbox had 3.7 or 3.9.
What final drive I have is a question, but it seems the way to find out is to take the gearbox off. I hope it won't happen soon. But it might explain why my car is sort of calm and thirsty.
I sold my Honda S2000 yesterday. Was a bit sad to see it go...

However, i might join R3DMAN on the speedster front soon. Looking at a speedster turbo with 260hp...
Ouch, should be a fun swap though if so!
I got a great offer for a low mileage car with a few interesting bits added to it. Lighter wheels, semi slicks, better intercooler, sachs coilover setup, racing brakes, sachs sport clutch, many more things i can't remember from the top of my head... perfect condition, parts installed for ca. 20.000$, all done by a speedster specialist in switzerland. Ready for the track. Should be great fun if it's going to happen!
Is it going to double as a DD too?
Not really. I have a VW polo TDI with 220.000km that still serves me well as my daily driver. The speedster would be a weekend and trackday only car.
Ahh Ok, I was going to say.. haha.

Of course it does. It's a Volkswagen...

With many little electronic issues and headaches, but it still gets me from A to B.

Well yea, it's only 136k miles. As long as you're not in an American car, you've still got a loong ways to go most of the time/in most cars.
my fiesta has already 4000 km on the clock and is still going strong!
wait...err.

more serious...a diesel should last at least 400k kms.
everything under is just...funny.
assuming it gets driven with some sense, not like redlining it cold or overreving it...
diesels redline at 3000 rpm anyway

That's an assumption many people have but I see no reason for that. Diesel engines have changed, we're not living in the 90s anymore...
so ur saying modern diesels die quicker?
why should they?
they "might" be more costly to maintain, but surely should live longer.

in the states maybe
ur average diesel over here, lets say 1.7 redlines at 4500-5000.
which isnt that far away from petrol.
we usually just dont have those huge engines (not needed anyway for a DD).

My truck meets 4000 regularly. It's a big 'ol 6.5L diesel.
Then again, I never have been one to take redline seriously.
it was just a joke btw
My BMW has 315k KMs driven already xD
