In the new version of live for speed the should get back the turbo car and also make it you are able to change the time of day ( sunrise, day, sunset and night) and you shouldalso be albe to turn on your lights and keep them on. They should still keep the manual trany i think that they did a good job on that but they should still see if they are able to make the proper automatic trany for if you just wont to cruse a round before you go and race.
i think that it would be fun to drift at night especially when there is more than 2 or 3 people drifting at a time with the lights going everywhere
I think in the next version you should buy yourself a license before requesting something silly like this.
i think it would be nice if people could use search buttons.

It's still there?
I'm with Yaamboo. What do you mean when you say you want it back? It hasn't gone anywhere so how can it come back?
To answer the poll, I like the new patch, both the new car, track layout, textures and the clutch. Yeah, even if it can piss me of sometimes I love the new patch.
I like the new patch really, it makes the racing much more realistic! Although I don't really like the new car but thats mostly because im not a open wheeler guy .

I have a patch Y and I have XRT. Maybe the problem is that you don't have license? :P

Quote from orange101 :and also make it you are able to change the time of day ( sunrise, day, sunset and night)

You can change the time of day in some tracks. However, night isn't possible without specific insim.

Quote from orange101 :and you shouldalso be albe to turn on your lights and keep them on.

I have it that way. It requires external light switch and logic prosessor, however. Build an external cockpit and you can have ALL the features you like. For example, when I signal left, arrow to left lights up in my (external) dashboard and wise versa. LFS only has one turn signal light.

Why shouldn't they keep manual transmission? And I hate auto-shift option. Instead of that, there could be authentic automatic transmission.
Oh, fercrissake!

Buy a license. You've been evaluating LFS for over a year; plenty of time to save up.
Quote :make it you are able to change the time of day

Dynamic tracks won't be in LFS until S3.

LFS is for racing, and no race car has an automatic gearbox. The auto-shift is there to help newbies on the learning curve to good racing.
I support making an realistic autobox, but not for cruising.

Just buy a licence!

We had all this bitching about XRT no longer in the demo when Y cam out.

Also an auto box has no place in LFS.
^ It does

Dragsters use them

I disagree. A realistic automatic transmission would be a valuable addition to LFS. Some of the cars in the current version could feasibly have autos, so it stands to reason that the functionality should exist in a realistic simulation of those cars.

That said, it has to be a real automatic, not an auto-shift driving aid. It should be slower in racing conditions than a properly-used manual gearbox, just as is the case in real life.

And I'm saying this despite the fact that I would probably never even use an auto unless I had no choice - I simply prefer manual shifting because it's more engaging.

If LFS was a driving simulator I would agree with you.
However it's a racing simulator and there is no need for an automatic transmission because nobody would race a car with one in real life.

didn't some of the F1 use an automatic gearbox at a time in the past?

Authentic automatic transmission would replace auto-shift -feature (Both are easy to drive so newcomers would use either). Then again, would it be necessary? Like you said, automatic transmission is not for racing.

Oh well.

And I bet those 3 who re-started to use older version are demo-users? (Hint: XRT)
Yes i love the new patch, i think that the fact that they restricted demo content is better because a demo is supposed to be limited and if you like it you buy it. Too many people hang around the demo and dont upgrade because im guessing theres too many features in the demo.

Ps: im still in the demo cause i just bought a dfp and now im saving for s2(i have 5 dollars saved up)

Nice comments from a demo racer. That's the attitude

Good luck saving up for the license.

As for the OP.... simply...meh

Actually, devs didn't restricted content, they rather added something demo never had before: One-seater.

Thats a start. Hint: Every time you buy something using cash, don't use coins under x euros/dollars/whatever, instead put them into a piggybank. After one month I saved 100 euros this way.
I am very satisfied with the new version (even if I am still slow, haha).

While it doesn't have any place in most of automotive racing, it does have a huge place in drag racing (mostly due to it's consistency; And also durability, if I remember correctly).
best one, best one!!!
