Quote from BlueFlame :Whats with all the Ford talk. They are the worst cars on the road today. Simply, and Truthfully. Transit van is a prime example of a bad van.

If you take that logic then my 2003 Ford Focus should be in the scrap heap now then?

It's a perfectly good and reliable car, had it since September last year, it's need a new regulator in the driver side electric window after a window blew out, and a brake disk has warped due to my dodgy braking.

Other than that the car has been faultless, the way I drive it, it should have a few other things wrong with it, but it doesn't!

Excellent car, so far been reliable as hell mechanically.

And if you're comparing Ford Europe to Ford America... it's like comparing VW with Proton or Tata.
Quote from BlueFlame :It's a pointless Idea. You must use your key to open it, meaning you can't turn it over then open the bonnet, nor can you start it, then shut the bonnet without locking it properly. There is no benefit to having this on your bonnet. It should be a bonnet release catch and that's it. That's all you need, why do you need a key? for what reason, would you need a key for it? It's hardly for security reasons is it? Why take the van when we can steal his engine oil! Infact, take his whole SUMP

3 good reasons I can think of straight away:
1. the wire that goes from most cars to the bonnet won't get worn out, because there isn't one, so the bonnet will always be openable. (the biggest gripe I had with the Toyota Yaris was the bonnet wire always stretched so the bonnet was impossible to open alot of the time!)
2. it makes the bonnet more secure because it can't be opened by somebody looking for a wire to pull it needs the key.
3. dumbasses don't open the bonnet while the engine is running and get their fingers caught in the fanbelt (i have heard of it happening before!)... You should only open the bonnet if the engine is off.

Also, you can use the key to open it and then take it out, you don't need the key to close/lock it (in my Focus at least). It's a simple design and it works.

So, I suggest you stop your Ford bashing until you've owned an EU version Ford... Or you could just shut up altogether, I think we'll all win then.
I hate fords, Bright Oranges and stupid designs, ugly ugly cars, Dreary in every way, interior isn't friendly at all, the Transit van has a nice position to the road, that's it, i'd rather own a Vauxhall, and that's saying something.

Well at least they don't look the same as every other car on the road.

Also I fail to see your 'unfriendly interior' argument... the Focus is very nicely laid out and easy to use with everything in reach!

and I don't really think this is orange:

Infact thinking about it... I very, very rarely see an 'ST Orange' Ford!

I just hate them, I loathe them with every ounce of my heart. Theres only 1 Ford that gets some credit from me. Mk1 Escort. but the standard interior on that was shite too
Listen here BlueFlame, european Fords are as american as John Prescott or Gordon Ramsey. The new Fords ( european and american) are more beautiful then any Audi and don't tell me about reliability issues because they're bullet proof...........excepting Jeremy Clarkson's ex GT.

Stupid designs? Unfreindly interiors?! What fords have you been sitting in?!

My dad owns a couple of fords, an escort cosworth and a sierra sapphire cosworth? There certainly not dreary. They have both been modified to over 400hp+, but even in standard trim, there still very fast. Everywhere you drive, people stare at the cars, as there so rare now, and there such a legend, what with there rally heritage etc. Also, my dad's going to be purchasing a brand new focus ST in a few weeks, and i can tell you know, the driving position and comfort is the best i have EVER experience. Its all where you would expect it to be. Also, the engine is fantastic. Turbocharged Volvo 5-pot sounds fantastic, and pulls like a train. Its also fast but can easily see 350hp+ with mods. I know there have been bad fords in the past, but lately, they have been making some truely great cars, ones of which are comfortable, sporty and fun to drive, and some of which provide a fantastic engine note (mondeo ST220 sounds FANTASTIC!!)
Now I remember why i thought this guy was a tosser before.

I can't really see how someone can get so wound up over a peice of metal, enough so that they have to convince the world of theirs views. I see a lot of dodgy cars where I work, but not once has the word loathe popped into my head.

Not that my Ford Focus sitting outside has anything to do with it, naturally. Or the shiny new one that replaces the Citroen in July If you want a rant about a shitty car, ask anyone whose driven a C4 with an auto box. Or them quirky old Skoda's for that matter..

I see the Fiat Cinqucento has been mentioned at last. Its true, they are a good laugh. For the people pointing at you..

That's what the rear lights look like to me. Not a nice looking car at all.
Only 2 Fords worth looking at, a Mk1 Ezza in rally trim, and a GT40. Too many people from the UK think Fords are british when they aren't. Money from the FordUK creats revenue for Ford US, so don't tell me it's not American, it is under an American name, it's not like Vauxhall were GM since the 1930's but follow Opel's designs is it? They were always Ford.

No, we think European Fords are made in Europe, for the European market. Completely different. Sadly, you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Can you not see Ford = Henry Ford = American, doesn't matter what country in which they are made, or to which standards. They are American. It's not like they were bought out and use the same name. They are Ford and that's it. Even for the name alone, they are American. And too many people DO think they are English, ask some randomers. You'd be suprised.
Not a nice looking car? You must be blind!just look at it. it almost looks like an Aston Martina! And about the brand,it is American but european Fords are designed by europeans made in european factorys for the european people so they're pretty much european but from what I can see your more stuborn then a mule so I will stop trying to tell you that you are very wrong because its useless.

When Will You Get It???!!!
Ford Usa And Ford Eu Is A Whoooole Different League, Yes Henry Ford Did Invent The First Ford But Ford Eu Has Little To Nothing To Do With Ford Usa Ffs!!!!

Still, they are very different to the US models. How can you say these things if you have no experience with them?

When did I say Ford = English? Oh wait, never. Try reading.
So why are people telling me Ford isn't American, and that it's European. I can roll with that they have specific car models for their European division, but why are people in denial? For the European market or not, They are still American.
Your argument is "Ford sucks because their American".

We decided that you weren't being a fool and meant that "Ford suck because American cars suck", where we pointed out their US and EU cars are totally different.

Obviously we over-estimated your intelligence.
Why can't anyone admit Ford is American? So they have a subdivision for Europe? VW have subdivisions, for all continents, and they used to make different cars in Brazil, but they were always German.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Europe Oh well, Wiki agrees with me, based in the US eh? Made by divisions of the Ford company to begin with.
*sigh*

Show me a post that says Ford aren't American?
Quote from Jakg :*sigh*

Show me a post that says Ford aren't American?

Shows me a post which says Ford control all factions of Ford people are saying it liek they are completely independant. Ford Europe suck and Ford US suck. No difference. And I refuse to participate talking about them again. I hate everything about Fords. Everything. That's why I hate the VW Sharan because VW/SEAT Collaborated with Ford to make the Galaxy, Sharan and Alhambra or w/e it's called.
Poor guy. So much hate for a car company. Imagine what happens if he comes across something that really matters?

It worked. Cars are my passion, everybody has hatred and love for things they are passionate about. Obviously you don't like cars enough
Obviously not enough to loathe a company based on opinion alone lol.
