Formerly GTRevival, Ian Bell's first title from Straight4 Studios just had a bit of an update announced:
- this was filmed better than I expected

Expecting more details on the title to be shared next month at Gamescom 24.

Thought this may be of interest. I think it's shaping up well from behind the scenes.
Sounds interesting, also cool to see The Stig helping.
Wow Ian Bell.... I worked with him and his team for almost a decade, happy to see him and hopefully the core team he always had staying busy Smile.
#4 - gu3st
Not at all interested in it based on the broken promises from Ian Bell's past along with some of the people he's opted to work with given their past.

The Stig helping is amusingly a downside considering the absolute comedy of sim racing related videos he's been involved in. Not very well informed.
Having now met Ian, I think his real life persona is quite different to how he has come across online. I met The Stig too, took several of us out for a lap or two of Silverstone. He can definitely drive!
Video footage from that event:

As a team, we are just hoping the title can be judged for what it is, though I understand there's always going to be links from the past, both negative and positive.

If you hadn't seen, the first teaser trailer is now online:

We recently had an event in Zürich as well, with some press invited to play the game. I did a few interviews to talk physics, this was one of the better ones, maybe you'll find of interest:
I hope it looks a little better on release than it does now, the offboard cameras in the trailer make the physics look totally lifeless and artificial.
I think that's largely due to the nature of the cars; smooth tracks and stiffly sprung aero race cars don't offer much in the way of body jounce, pitch or roll, while the stiff tyres don't slip much and give little in the way of visible yaw.

Road cars, and certainly rally, shows so much more movement in that regard, and thus look really alive.
Quote from Bob Smith :I think that's largely due to the nature of the cars; smooth tracks and stiffly...

I'm aware of how race cars behave, in the trailer the cars seem to show no movement at all, not even the small amount you expect from a stiff race car. In the reveal trailer at timestamp 0:58 there are some GT1s in turn 4 at Mosport, a fast downhill left. You would expect some obvious visual movement here even in the stiffest of race cars. These cars are on the edge of grip at high speed, yet to my eye there is no movement.

I haven't driven the sim though, and for all I know that's AI and often AI cars look a bit alien no matter what sim, so I don't want to make any big judgements. I'm just commenting on what I saw.
