Connection problem (solved)

My LFS doesn't connect to master server since last wednesday.
I tried turning off the firewall and reinstalling LFS but it still doesn't connect. I can't even unlock it. It's like master server was down, but I know it isn't.
Checked LFSworld and email, everything seems ok (no account stealing, no bans...).
I don't know what to do

Edit: never mind, after 4 hours without internet it apparently fixed itself

If you can't overtake then you aren't so fast.

It's great to be slow. You can drive as you want. Nobody asks you, nobody complains you. Nobody envies you.

I'm not sure about what should I think.
From one side, it looks really unrealistic to adjust a road car as we do actually. From the other side, maybe one of the biggest advantages of a simulator compared to real life is that the simulator is much cheaper, in money and time. If we don't spend a cent in fuel or tyres maybe we should be able to change all car components. It's true that in my real car I cannot change the ride height, but I can buy other suspension parts with other settings. In real life money is a problem, in a sim, IMHO, only reglament must be the problem.
The ideal would be a mixture of both options. It would be nice to can choose between locked realistic setups and fully adjustable ones.
I would limit HLVC to limited setups, and add a server option to lock/unlock setups.
By the way, I'd like to suggest a setup option wich doesn't exist yet: it would be nice being able to change wheel sides. Im not talking about a sort of lfstweak, but choosing between "equivalent homologated" sizes.

Quote from pearcy_2k7 :@RocksGT - Paddles aren't really a problem, some GTR cars have paddle shifts, but they don't have a clutch button.

In most racing cars clutch acts almost like a button... The difference is you use it with your hand instead using a foot... Is unfair to use an axis clutch in the wheel, like RGT owners?
Anyway it's always possible to calibrate the clucth so you can activate it at 100% with very low pressure...

Quote from RocksGt :If you have a DFP and you use paddles instead of the stick for gearing in GTR's and stock you're choosing a hardware configuration more unrealistic than you could and one config that it's easier to master for better times
Is that unfair too?

Lol I hate DFP paddles... For me it is easier the stick. Maybe I'm cheating with some cars wich are supossed to have paddles

Quote from Flotch :do you know that irl when drive on the right or on the left it is not the same? (talking about fov, changing gear with the other hand) The 'tire' view is a big cheat imo, or at least for those who exploit this feature and gain a very unfair advantage compare to those who would have to completly re-learn how to drive with a totally different fov.

Warming tires sucks to do hotlapping, I agree, we should have the option to warm them up in aim to avoid those stupid drift to begin the lap.

About the fuel, I don't get the point, maybe you want to see some people hotlapping for hours in a single replay to do laps with an empty tank ...

Are you saying the FOV isn't the same in both sides of a car? I don't think so.
About changing gear with the other hand... Well, my DFP doesn't afford me to do that, but if I had a G25 take sure I would change shifter position when changing driver position.
Tyre view a cheat? I thought it was only an option... "Custom view" (not "tyre view") can be more reallistic than cockpit view if U set it up properly. An example: http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=t-ZX8uq6myU (yes, it is an extreme situation... But I bet it's more realistic than your system).
About the fuel, you cannot upload too big files to lfsworld... So your tank would never get empty if you start with 50% or more fuel.

So changing driver position is also a cheat? What about warming tyres or hotlapping with less than 50% fuel?

Quote from arco :There are automatic gears in real life that's faster than manual gearing. Anyway, to keep hotlapping fair, each method should be equally fast. Or we need separate hotlap lists for each method.

As easy as adding some more filters in lfsworld

Quote from RocksGt :You DO NOT use the macro. Just a script for automatic clutch pressing at stick shifting, but (correct me if I'm wrong) if you don't set the button rate, there is no advantage (except not having to press the button in every shifting)

What button rate?
OMG nowadays nobody can cheat without a Cheating Master

Quote from duke_toaster :I think there should be some form of anti-macro detection similar to VAC; hotlaps with dodgy gearshifts should be insta deleted, and if you constantly use the macro I support bans in the same way as speedhacks. Same level of cheating, harder to detect.

It should be possible to make a "macro" without using software

Quote from Bladerunner :What about looking at the replays, and seeing that the clutch bar NEVER moves (or shows!) I just tried out auto clutch...first time I've used it since I got my G25... and lo...yonder bar moves with auto clutch!!! It also moves with button clutch and with pedal clutch....so...my theory is that if no bar movement is seen, must be a macro! (especially when somebody gains THAT much time with gearchanging!)

Hmmm I see my bar perfectly

Hi all, Rocks told me about this thread and I think I should say something...

Mi first notice about that script was "faster gear changes". I didn't know anything more about it, so I started some experiments with profiler.
At the end I made it work... Or something like this. I didn't notice better times, maybe I did it wrong or maybe I am not so constant to notice any profit. I recognize I didn't try drag strip so I'm not sure not being slightly faster.
First day I didn't notice nothing special. My PB was as difficult to beat as before and everything looked the same. But the second day I had an accident and engine stalled... Then I loved it No more automatic clutch saving my rpms, no more accidents playing only with the wheel, no more burn clutches due to low rpms in high gears.

Is it a cheat? Obviously I think it isn't, if I thought that I wouldn't do it. Why I think that?

a) I didn't notice better times
b) It's more difficult for me to recover the control at unexpected situations
c) At least in my case, the gear change is NOT always perfect. Sometimes it just dont change, so I have to click again the stick.

Using button clutch in every change? No thanks. I had a RGT wheel with clutch and handbrake in the wheel and my wrists didn't like that. I prefer to use autoclutch. But i would like it doesn't work in low-rpm-situations

I voted 90 min. although I begin to lose concentration in about 20 min I really like to run tired, soaked in sweat, and committing errors by lack of concentration.
5-10-15 lap races are funny with people without training and you can run a lot of races in a day. But I prefer a long race with experimented racers running in similar times. 45 min. is the minimum for serious races IMO. 60-75 min. is not bad, but I'd prefer 90 min.
