Nice work Scawen! Looking forward to these optimisations. Keep up the good work! Good to see that you've also updated the insim.txt headers, i've been using those exstensively in the past.

Hi Avraham, Cool that you like it!
Mods should work right away, but i've not tested this yet. Atm there is no config/careers that use Mods. But you could add career config yourself if you want.

There have been some changes in InSim that i didn't include yet in this the lfs-career program, i'll try address that.

I'd expect it to work though, because InSim has some backwards compatibility.

Please, give it a try and if you run into problems, please let me know. I will try to help you out!

Hi John, good to see you've returned!
On Thursdays there's the fantastic GTI Thursday: https://www.lfs.net/leagues/432-Fragmaster%27s-GTi-Thursday
Most if the top racers are indeed much faster than myself, i tend to race near the back if the field, playing catch with blue flags and all.

But the racing is great, clean and fun even when ur not alien-fast! You're very much welcome!

There s also FOX Friday, same concept but with the Formula XR.

Hope to seeya,

Stan aka Boer Tarrel

Im running LFS on intel based mac with playonmac, which works fine.
No experience with M1 processor, though..

I used Crossover for the last years because of (OSX since Catalina i think?) doesn't run 32bit apps indeed. That used to work but since my last update it didn't anymore.

Thats when I switched back to PlayOnMac and this works perfectly for me. I do select a 64bit windows installation for the virtual drive (see attached image). But the actual bottle/virtual drive is 32bit. (see the other image)

My FPS is usually somewhere between 50 and 100, which is perfectly playable.

I'll try to update the mac/linux section on the LFSManual. It's a bit outdated.

I use PlayOnMac and it runs perfectly without any configuration. I guess after the next graphics update howeverr, newer DirectX will be used. This will probably cause problems with PlayOnMac/Wine. But thats not yet a problem atm.

The only real problem that i've encountered is controller support. Macosx doesn't have the best driver support by default. I've contributed to a script that enables 900 degrees of wheel rotation for logitech wheels on macosx. Thats very nice to have :-)

It's actually the same for all cars; load the car and click the 'edit engine' button. Be sure that you're in the editor, not in the modeller.

But since you did find it for base cars, is there anything different for modded cars for you?

In what case is it not correct, when the requested tank fill percentage + current fuel percentage exceeds 100%? Or are there other cases?

I'd say, if the approx percentage fuel left + requested fill percentage exceeds 100% you could cap it to calculate the actual percentage of fuel added.

Cool, this was my first car in real life! Im looking forward to race it on Blackwood!

Are the performance characteristics somewhat matching XFG?

What you want is not really possible i think.
The only thing i've attempted is make classes (like GTR/GT2/GT3) and enforce these; rejecting the join request if mass/restriction don't match.

This requires a bit of labour and i think this might even be better. This way you actually think about it and tweak the restrictions instead of just applying a general formula.

Because for example;
A turbocharged car reacts very differently to intake restriction than one without turbo. But reading your post i'd assume you're very much aware of this.

The introduction of mods opens up a whole new can of worms. It used to be simple :-)

I'm working on a mod (from scratch) for a month now, didn't even bother to load it up as a WIP yet. Don't wanna rush myself and i want it to be simply great.

I hope you can find a way to make it better for the reviewers, Scawen! Keep up the good work, it's appreciated.

I've been looking around CGTrader

Maybe there's something for you there. I don't know if the licenses are suitable for lfs mods, though.

Hi Flame, this is a bit offtopic;

I read that THE WIZARD DK made knw files for your Stock car.
I'm very curious if he just copied knw files from XRR (and others) or did he modify these files? I'm looking for a way to edit knw files and thus ai behaviour.

Maybe he knows more about the encoding of knw files? The thing is, i can't find him anymore on the forum. Is he banned or something?

I've been playing LFS on both linux and mac via Wine for years, works pretty good.

Only in the new modeler / vehicle editor some things don't show up correctly but that's only if you want to buy S3 and make mods :-)

I do feel the need for a better tyre modeling. As we all know Scavier are working on that.. I'd hope that the improvements will address this issue as well!

About the 'realism' slider; One of the reasons I love LFS is because it doesn't have such a setting. Don't you?
I'd say the solution is in improvements of the tyre physics, not in reducable realism settings.

Hi Martin,

I'm trying to recreate something like the Radical SR1.
Video: https://youtu.be/GN4JWKiXu7c

I've made a start with the Gen 4 RPE-Suzuki 1340cc inline 4 engine, but the max torque is available at a much too low rpm (currently 6068, should be around 7500).

Can you have a look at this? Thanks in advance!

Yeah great! Do you want to add the rear diffuser as well? Would be awesome to make it match the GTR spec as well, indeed :-)

I'd say these are the Rear and Front downforce angles. Don't know for sure.

Does this relate to the topic of this thread?

Probably Scawen doesn't want us to play around with these anyway. :-)

Quote from thepumpkinglover :Well, the issue is that I do not load the tires or the mapping of the game! hopefully I can see the pilot model (head only) and the car with the rims without tires.
Thanks in advance!

The pilot model is not shown correctly, am i right?
What exactly is your question?
Do you want to see the car with the rims, but without tires (I think i don't get you?)

Sounds like a weird problem, or you might have corrupted the texture/3d model files. In that case re-install the game should fix it.
