Thank you!

Edit: Wait there's a setup for it? I see an uninstall exe in the folder but nothing to install.

Edit again: Nevermind, I was able to get it working .

Any chance of a new upload link for any of them? The UploadFFS site doesn't work for any of the links, and MegaUpload is obviously out.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

I'll have to try that, thanks for the tip. I used the pen tool to make a selection right on the edges of the car, but it still did it. That sounds like it'll work perfectly.

Quote from Cameltoe :I though you used radial blur on the background You need to put more radial blur on the wheels if you want it to look something else than gaussian blur (no shit).

Oh haha. Yeah I was looking back through this topic and saw someone used like 60, I only used around 15.

Quote from Cameltoe :It's better to use motion blur in angles like that IMO.

On the wheels? I don't think that would look right.

Radial blur didn't turn out quite how I wanted, it almost looks like it's just a guassian blur. I've never done anything with editing in real photos to the shot, I'm used to just editing the actual shot. Looks like I have some learning to do .

Stock Unwrapping, Real Photos, and Other Q's

I've been messing around with the dds files, just looking at them, I did a few skins. One thing I noticed is the massive amount of real photos they (and all car textures really) use- low quality ones at that. A few that jumped out at me are the ShiftSequ_x.dds files, wiperblade.dds, the MRT engine, and lots of the lights. Some of them are so bad I don't think you could reskin them since you don't know where the wireframe is. Why does everyone rely on real photos for the car textures? It's possible to make them look good (don't know how much was used on the XR's interior but all of those look good) but most of the time they look pretty bad. Remaking them they can look so much better.

Speaking of the XR interior, I think it looks great, but then go drive a FXO, and it's totally worse. Why do some cars have such nice interiors but others seem so neglected? I'm speaking the stock ones, I already have some alternate interiors for various cars.

Another thing I noticed, is some models have flipped UVW's (LX dash is one I know for sure, left on the dash skin is right on the dash in game). It's not a big deal but it's frustrating skinning something then you find out it's backwards in game. Does anyone know any other models that have flipped portions on the UVW's? Just want to know for future reference.

Just a random question, what's the texture name for the UFR and XRR digi guage and gear indicator housing? Just want to mess around with it a little but I haven't had luck finding it.

Hope this post doesn't come off as sounding like I'm complaining, I'm not trying to sound that way. Just curious about some things .

I probably am, I just can't get it back straight once it's drifting out. I'm trying to practice drifting more so I can control the car better in those situations. I just can't get the car to go back straight once it's drifted out, it always goes too far and drifts the other way.

Thanks, I'll have to try that.

Well I got my G27, I'm SO much worse with it than my controller it's not even funny. One major thing I'm having problems with is spinning out, if I get even a little sideways I start swapping and spin out. There's nothing I can do to save it, what do you have to do to save it? I'm not even trying to drift, it just happens when going around corners. I turned the FF down to 30's in the profile setup and around 55 in-game, otherwise it was too much and I could barely control the wheel.

Most of the trouble is low speed tight corners (like second gear tight 90-180's), which are hard to really find on the stock tracks. I normally play on the live to cruise servers, the guard rails they have to split left and right lanes is what make is tighter, those corners are the ones I have problems with.

I changed it up some more, but now it almost feels too loose and the back end always wants to drift out if I'm hard on the brakes.

Now I'm feeling like it's too hard to really test any setup while using a controller, it's hard to be consistent and you can't be very accurate with steering. Once I get a wheel I'll try to tweak it some more.

Tried it there and it seems a little better. The more I was thinking about it, I'm wondering if it's because I'm using a controller and not a wheel. Since my steering is on an analog stick it's really easy to go from straight wheel to fully locked to one side, I must be turning the wheels so fast they can't grip. I'm planning on getting a wheel pretty soon, once I get it I'll see if I'm still having problems. Thanks for your help .
XRT Race Setup Help

I'm trying to tweak the stock hard track setup a little so it's better for tighter tracks (LTC tracks pretty much). One problem I have is understeer. The thing I think can help though (which I caught myself doing) is not breaking while still turning, but even after that it still doesn't want to turn all that sharp without using the e-brake.

Right now the setup is the stock hard track with gearing changes and I changed the clutch pack to power/coast 55%/40%, preload is the same at 70Nm.

I'm used to dirt bikes so I don't know much about tweaking suspension for cars, or how it affects handling/steering. It's probably the car's characteristics but I can't get it to seem "planted" and turn without much understeer. Any help is appreciated, thanks guys .
