I have some from the old, happy times
Races: 2-6 , 10 , 12 , Special (I can't remember which was it exactly )

Found few qualy and before race events, but I haven't got the old LFS version, so I can't play them to be sure.

I'll copy them to my FTP server, if have time for it, maybe tomorrow :P

I don't care about the chassis, its irrevelant.

Just a quick list what we have now:
FWD, RWD, 4WD. I think that fully covers all cars IRL
We have mid engined car, rear engined and front engined too. Same as the first
About the engine types. Inline4 , Flat4, Flat6, Motorcycle engine, F1 engine.

I like to see:
- rotary engined car
- diesel powered car (I dont like them, but it would interesting to race them against the petrol ones)
- american big V8 muscle car, with oldschool suspension, and brakes
- racetruck
- karts

something new ...

I think if you have ABS you can stop your car faster, without ABS, IF your speed is more than (as far as I can remember) 40km/h. Above that speed, the electronics works better than a professional driver, and of course much, much better than a regular driver, who just steps on the brake, the wheels are locking, and he just presses the pedal with more power ...

On the other side, if your speed below 40, the locking wheels can stop the car a bit faster (maybe in wet conditions too) than the ABS can do, with well calculated brake force, and let the wheels spin.


About the topic: I think ABS have to work is reversed too ... (there are a lot of comment about its operation), So it have to be implented to the game, because this is a simulator which simulates real cars

I found a bug.

In user view (CTRL+U) the ignition key isn't works for me. It is still set to default (I key). I didn't try to map it to the controller ...

Is this DX9 interface necessary?

I like to see, the windowed version, like in the screenshot.
Those windows are easy to customize. I can change its size, make a layout, as I want.

This new verison is suffers from CPU issues for me, but works fine

I have a little problem with the program too

It connects succesful to my host, but when I press the tack button the program crashes.
The Fullscreen DX works fine just for a few secs. After that the display become laggy, HDD starts to work hard and the CPU usage jump to 100%

I have .Net Framework 2.0 and DX9 installed.

Why do we need to balance the cars for every track? I think this good how now works (W9). Just need to think about the cars limits. As Jakg said before.
You cant change the car's specifications. for example drivetrain, engine position, overall weight, (aerodinamic) wheel size, etc ...

For example FXO's weight point is much below (thanks to the flat engine) than RB4 or XRT. It makes him faster in the corners, but the balance isnt good. Most of the weight is in the front.
XRT is faster than RB4 in the straights thank to its better power/weight ratio.
RB4 have a full time 4WD . Hopeless to challange with it in rallycross tracks.

Every car have a little advantage in different type of tracks, or just in a specific section of the track. This makes the races more interesting. Should we put 200kg extra weight to the RB4 in rallyx tracks, to keep up the others with him?

I think we just have to keep the cars abilities in mind, and try to have great battles :eclipseeh

I think I solved the problem. Not the perfect way, but works
replaced the spring with a piece of plastic, so the ball dont have damper. The palstic thing is a little bit shorter, so the ball dont hang out too much, but still enough to keep in gear. And of course a litte bit of oil helped near the holes

The shifter uses normal potentiometers (as the well known MOMO's pedals too) so, I think the problem is with these. Try some WD40 It always helps

Anyone have a good solution to disable the H shifters clicking noise?

Few weeks ago I disassembled it, to repair the reverse gear problem, and I saw how it works If I take out the ball and the spring it dont stays in neutral, 2nd and 4th gear.

Pls, help. This noise makes me mad

I have a problem
LFS crashes, but it does only in SO and WE tracks. Not suddenly, just after few laps, or when it think
Dont know why. I had a modded one, I tought it cause the crashes, but after I installed a new, fresh one, and it frozen too, with same address.

Can someone tell my (about the address) whats wrong? File, or which plugin (sound, graphic, controller) cause the crashes ...

Why sould be an STCC setup site? I don't like the idea. STCC drivers have to be self-supporting. Especially who have gold, platinum (or above ) license. But if they cant make setup for ourselves, there are similar setups on inferno. For example, SO Town - SO Long, or any SO set.
Don't know why have to drive with the WR setup, when the driver is just learning the track.

An other thing about the public servers. Lot of drivers use driving aids, to keep winning, or just be in the top 3. The red message, isn't enough forceful I think. After the driver reached platinum, or gold (so he/she can use all of the cars) dont cares about points.

The solution would be to decrease points if they use unaccepted helps. After they loose some points, get back in the license ladder, cant use for example FXO This would be much more deterrent

I like to see the weight penalty system in the public servers (For example: in every 2.000 points, you should get 1 passenger in. And if you dont do that, you can get a point penalty ), and in the official STCC races too.

Did yout notice that different sound can be loadad for each driver (when they use same car) ?

Great addition, but works a little bit weird. When you start the engine, the ingnition sound "plays" which is about 1,5 - 2 secs long. But, right after you pressed the ingnition button, you get an engine sound too.
So, you get an ingnition sound, an engine sound, and 1000RPM at same time

The sounds dont feel bad when I try them in AU, or fust for fun, hit the racetrack.

During the race I cant hear the tires, the skid sound is at max, engine is about 25%.
And still all sounds are dull

I tried the LFSMon, and it almost works

- Installed Python 2.5 + PlyBluez
- Intalled LFSMon.jar on my phone (N6630), and after that I executed it.
- Started LFSMon.py ... It made connection with my phone.
- Set the outgauge port in the cfg.txt to 21567 (what said the LFSMON.py's command line )

- Nothing happened :S

Did i forgot anything?
