14 laps as in its a 41 lap race and if i do a 2 stop strat the tyres would need to last 14 laps

The inferno one is dodgey btw haha, i figured a league or series might had already done this combo before so there could be some setups lying around.

Truli Train - This technique involves starting high up in in the first 2 or 3 rows only to have after 5 laps a freight train of cars behind you (ie the entire field stuck behind your slow as hell driving, killing LOTS of Webber's races!!! ARGGHHH!!!!...sorry bout that bit...slipped out haha)

(prepares flame retardant suit)

I wish we had proper damage now, imo that plus varying levels of grip and marbles, and dragging dirt onto the track, are the next importaint things to add to the lfs experience but thats just me and i don't wanna get too o/t

Quote from Woz :Trist beat me to this. Yes I watch the V8s (Best series I think)

In the series I have seen pit crews remove rear windscreen on cars that have lost the front one. Crews get big lumps of metal out to bend the bodywork back into shape etc etc etc. All of which have caused LONG pitstops.

What we are saying is that once damage is well implemented then fine, let the driver decide if it should be fixed.

BUT at the moment it is possible to cave in the front of the car or mash the sides so they intersect with the wheels etc and there is NO penality as long as the suspension did not take a hit. Both of these would end your race or cause a long pit while its fixed.

Yes but here were talking about microscopic suspension damage that isn't even noticeable whilst driving that takes 10 seconds to "fix" not about a head on collision into a wall. 10 seconds is a lot of time in the middle of a race.

not if your driving the fxr.

That thing eats tyres for breakfast lunch and tea!

(ha thats prolly gonna bring a lot of comments on about my driving style now isnt it...)

Quote from Sergio Macias :I vote for that too. It is quite disapointing to have to guess the % of wear to be set in order to change just the tyres you want. I often want to change only front tyres, never got it, if I set low % they dont change any, if I set high % to be sure, they change me the full 4 tyres set.
It makes me get angry

Yes this tyre thing is very important imo.

+2 lol

Quote from flinty72 :

Also the ability to only change single tyres or two (F/R or L/R) should be available, this would allow for a lot more tyre strategy and in-turn some control of overall pit stop time. Also can someone tell me why it takes so damn long for 2 tyres to change, most race series around the world can do it in under 10sec these days, LFS seems to take that long just for 2 tyres.

was just gonna mention that.

Also one bloke last night chose to change his tyre psi when he stopped, took 30 seconds or so to change the settings, surely the pit crew would have already adjusted the tyres BEFORE the car got to the pit?

Quote from Tweaker :This was the setup that I won with in the LOTA series that was faster than the WR and proved to be a pretty good setup. Generally if your car does act funky on the curbs, you just need to straighten the wheel out a bit briefly and keep on punching the gas .

I'm not 100% positive this was my setup, but the naming convinces me

WR is 2:02.39 --- my race PB was 2:01.88 (possible to go faster, easily)

Ooohh thanks for thoes sets :P

Hhhmm BF1 sounded far better in U35 than U36 imo it sounds more synthetic now. Mrt sounds a bit better though in U36 lol

Hhhmm bit vague aren't i?

On another note when the sounds are finally finished (yeah yeah i know just hear me out) will the BF1 sound like it does on TV or in Real Life after attending the Aus GP this year i can tell ya those F1's sound NOTHING like they do on TV

Quote from yegadoyai :It will be a red bull white wash.

DC will help the team secure the Constructors Championship with solid if uninspired driving while Webber will maybe not always have the pace to see off the Ferrari but will be far more consistant than Massa and get a big enough points lead over Kimi in the initial races that he can coast to victory with 2nds and 3rds in the latter part of the season.

Alonso will be gutted that his car loves to park up after 20 laps and have a smoke, Hamilton will cause much destruction at the start after a spectacular first qually and subsequently be replaced by Mika - Ron Dennis loves me - Hakkinen.

Button and Rubens will show marked improvements but will ultimately fail, time after time after time.

Do we even need to mention the Renaults? They will be nowhere, I wouldn't trust Giancarlo to finish a race if his life depended on it, he is nowhere under pressure and his new team mate is not going to inspire him to greatness. I feel sorry that Kovalainen is having to to take 2nd spot to Giancarlo.

Everyone else will be further back, I don't think the Toyotas will have much to do with the championships beyond the first few flyaway races.

If all that were to come true! i would be ecstatic!...god i hope Webber wins Melb, ill be there!

Quote from Marty502 : But you're right. I remember Button's onboard from the 2005 Turkish GP and it was strange. Everything looked so smooth it felt like the car was driving itself!

Yeah you probaly have a point there. Ive seen Alonso all he does is drive it like i do the BF1 throws it at a corner and says "Save me Traction Control!" So unless the new Merc is up to that...

Quote from tristancliffe :Trust me, your English is butchered. You won't realise it, because you don't know any different, but it's as different to English as American is.

You still never thought of a smoother driver. And I've seen onboard V8 footage, and they don't look particularly smooth to me. Sure, they are race car drivers and have a certain amount of smoothness, but there's smooth and then there is SMOOTH. Watch Button. Sometimes he'll take a month to get from one steering lock to the other, yet still be faster than his teammate.

What i ment is the V8 drivers always say that to get the most out of there cars you need to be very smooth and have sort of a rhythm to the driving lol.

As for f1 i got no idea we dont get that much coverage down here, should change next year i hope.

Quote from tristancliffe :As in driving style - movements of the steering wheel, working the throttle as the tyres circle of friction allow more/less. You know, the usual use of the term smooth when discussing Jenson Button. If you know enough abou tF1 to make a statement about Button like you have above, then you'd instantly understand the smooth we were discussing.

I know Australia, like America, has butchered the English language irrepairably, and I know it's not your fault you've been taught a dodgy version of the correct language, but 'smooth under pressure' doesn't actually make sense. Good under pressure works. Strong under pressure too. But smooth under pressure doesn't literally make sense, unless a driver suddenly starts driving in an elegant manner when being put under pressure, but is really savage when not - and no racing driver in the world is probably that weird!

My english is not butchured thanks (though my spelling sucks but thats just me) i know what the word smooth means and i understand smooth driving (i mean i play lfs to of cource i would) and i wasnt sure if you were talking personality or driving style.

In our V8's we sometimes get multiple camera angles of a few of our drivers footwork you can see the heel toe'ing etc really smooth.

Define smooth.

as in gently willing the car around

Quote from tristancliffe :So you don't like Button because someone else does and because of a terrible F1 game, to the point where you ignore all the real life facts? I'm not saying you have to support him, or even like him, but you have to ackowledge the talents and skills he does have - smoothest driver in F1, for example.

Hey mate i was just having a bit of a joke (thought it was kinda obvious i mean jeez i mentioned f1 06 lol) He can hold is own and i saw his interview on Top Gear which wasnt bad...wouldnt go as far as to call him the smoothest but meh what eva

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :Well James Allens head will explode next year, 4 British drivers in F1

The bookies obviously know nothing, otherwise Coulthard and Webber would have good odds. Double title winning engines, Newey designed cars, Mclarens aerodynamic department (well the important guys)...the list goes on...Red Bull have bought themselfs an F1 Dream Team.

And i cant bloody wait!!! Webber ftw lol

Quote from Bee :Of course but you'd expect that from any commentator, I bet down under, Mark Webber is spoken about in the same way, as is Sato in Japan or the Schumachers in Germany or Alonso in Spain or Raikkonen in Finland.

Yeah but we dont yell and scream and get an update on webbo every 5 seconds... prolly caus we dont have anyone from the pits lol!...bah the only thing out commentators get to do is the Aus GP really.
